To have less smoke in your cabin make your chimney taller at least above the ridge line of the roof. This will greatly improve the draw of your chimney and pull the smoke out Of your interior

outstanding video! i dont often click on the youtube recommended but glad that I did. If you like bushcraft with a decorative flair looks like this channel really delivers. The hut construction is remarkable and the fireplace and cooking system is just off the hook! this is bushcraft glamping on another level altogether. The meals looked fabulous, no reason you can't cook like a gourmet when your roughing it, right?

Of all the dugout cabin builds on YT, this must be the most organised, neat and tidy construction I've seen. So many other builds leave the immediate area a complete and utter mess. So this is a nice change to see.
The close-up shots and camera positions were very well done. It was nice to see the detailed step-by-step build.
Handling all that mud and soil, how on earth do you keep your clothing and your fingernails so clean? If I did that, I'd look like I'd taken a mud bath.
Actually I'm quite curious how they keep the water out when it rains or floods??? Gravity and electricity are not in the picture so can't use pumps, and it's in a hole,no way to drain or divert water. Ideas??

I really am enjoying this video. The shelter reminds me of the homes in New Mexico the mud house’s Native American people would make. I love those kind of homes. Ex specially the stove and chimney. Thank you for this video and keep them coming. I really love the pizza oven.

Finally a smart emergency shelter build that doesn't include piling on dead leafs, grasses, branches, and other insect infested debris. Venomous spiders, scorpions, centipedes, lot's of ants, and various other annoying biteing insects I've seen them all thriving under dead leafs on the forest floor. Speaking of which have you got any tips for natural insect repellents. What do you use ?

Unrealistic the smoke from the fire would have filled the entire cabin virtually none of it would have gone up the chimney.
She came there with one backpack how did she fit all the stuff that she used in that one backpack.
