I'm gonna come clean on this one. I can't help tearing up. It just gets to me. Dany's vocals just rip at me. I saw you react to Pau's drums. Yeah...she's mastered the flam and uses it perfectly. Those harmonies? I am convinced they could sing this acapella and I would break and sob like a baby. Their music just resonates and you can fill it move throughout your entire body deep into your soul. Great reaction as usual!
Oh no it's not only you !! Dany's joy and energy spread trough her body language, she's was born to be on stage (and even during her livechats with the fans, she's always smiling, joking, being so playful... she always puts a smile on my face) Can't wait to see them for real. Since they announced that they will come to Europe this year, I keep my fingers crossed, hoping that France will be on they plans (secretely hoping for Hellfest, even though I know the chances are very very small, but who knows ?)
The Dakota performance was January 2018 and would kick off a great year of performances: the first Whisky show, opening for The Killers, Hell & Heaven, Agua Fria, Forcefest, and capped off by the Lunario. At 18, 16, and 13! And they already looked and sounded like true professionals.
I have contended that the video work, editing and sound quality at Dakota Bar truly gives me the feel that I was there (I wish). Other venues have better PA's, and there is more professional camera work from other shows, but that's the allure for me.
I rarely subscribe to a reactor and I have watched so many for The Warning. I consider your reactions so far the best so I subscribed to your channel. I have also learned many things from what you have shared.
As a three piece they’ve created a huge advantage by using stellar harmonies as almost a fourth instrument. I’m always struck by the Dakota Bar videos how Ale is in that almost awkward stage between standing rigid at the mic when she was younger and her current fully confident rock star moves. She reminds me of a newborn foal who’s just getting her legs up under herself and learning how they work.
There was a point that I actually posted on a video about how much more graceful Ale had become. I felt like she had gone from that newborn foal to a young woman. It might have been Lunario.
I know this is more about reacting to "Our Mistakes", and I have found myself in situations not too unlike your own as per your studio breakdown. I think you and I are both better for it. I feel the relationship I established with my daughter as a single dad helps define me as a person. With regards to "Wildfire", I believe it to be one of Pau's top tracks on drums. There are more intricate basslines by Ale in other songs, but this one is solid and follows the melody while adding punch to some of Pau's hits. Lyrically, I was under the impression that it could have been part of the "Hunger Games", but some evidence was presented that deflects that. That sustained belt at the end by Dany rivals her close of "Dust to Dust".
The Warning is always better live than on a recording. It is rare to see (hear) that. Typically, band are not as good live. The sisters are able to transmit passion and emotion live that makes you always appreciate their songs more.
Totally agree. I think David Bendeth was finally able to capture the sound and energy of their live performances and it was truly on display in their Mayday/Error tour. The magic of that album live brought a lot of new fans.
I knew you’d come around to Wildfire when you saw it live. I always thought of it as from the point of view of any rebel or resistance movement, and it appeals to my strong anti authoritarian sensibilities.
Obviously I really like Wildfire. Of course, having the written lyrics from Ale doesn't hurt. 😎 BTW, Sabaton Swedish Pagans with Tina Guo is a good show.
Their super power has always been playing live.

They are special performers. Captivating, evoking emotion, just setting the tone for a magical ride.

Wildfire was last played on their Quarantine Concert back in March 2020 when the pandemic started.

As good as their studio work is, their live performances are always more impactful.
