  • Hauling brush with the Peterbilt at the basement job. I've got a fair amount of the trees cleared and piled now it's time to haul them off. I can't burn in the subdivision but a limb dump site is only about 2 miles away. So I spend the day loading and hauling and make a pretty good dent in the pile. The site is cleaning up nice. Thanks for watching! #EliteEarthworks #Takeuchi #brush

    So today we had 'ELITE The Logger.' Once you got that six foot honkin' chainsaw out, that was the end of those trees! Too bad about the non-burning - you could have brought marshmallows and we could have had a great time, LOL. Seriously, though, it cleaned up pretty good.

      lol yeah I love that saw but I wouldn’t want to run it all day 🤣 I wish I could have burned too. Thanks again for watching

    That brush and those trees look especially gnarly to deal with. Maybe when you get over the hill you can find a good spot to bury some of the more worrisome stuff. From the looks of the neighbors backyard they didn't bother with doing much with it as far as building it up and used pretty substantial concrete retaining walls. Possibly the further you get down that hill the more problems you'll find. I hope not. Good job as always. Keep it up.

      Yes they were. The neighbor told me it was a flood plain and couldn’t be built up but I’m not totally sure about that. I think these people might build a wall or at least have me fill it in and slope it more gradually. Appreciate you watching

    Hey Brandon just a quick tip for you when cutting with the chainsaw. If you cut from the bottom to the top the cut will go smooth and it won’t ever bounce the wood or split it. Once you try it you’ll see what I mean especially since you have the weight to your advantage since your machine holds it brother. Doesn’t matter the size cause the bigger heavier part is being held up the cut will go right through and smooth.

    • @eliteearthworksllc
      @eliteearthworksllc  3 місяці тому +1

      I’ll have to try that. I figured the wood would pinch the saw cutting that way. Thanks!

      @@eliteearthworksllc as long as you keep the piece you’re cutting smaller than the rest of the tree being held, you will be okay. You can do a small cut from the top or sides first if you feel sketched out which is normal but you’ll find that it’s nothing to worry about. Especially since you’re cutting with a pretty good sized saw it’ll just go easier too. I know how scary it can be when it splits like that and trying to avoid it kicking back while holding. I’ve learned so much from you and it’s only the least I can do by returning the favor in the areas that I have experience in brother! Keep up the excellent work and god bless you! 👏🏽🙌🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🤙🏽

    ALL of what you just did is known as *OVERRIDING LABOR* ! Too bad you couldn't burn it or have *UPSTATE JON* next door FECON action! You'll need to find an old 'beater' one someday for this type job(s)! Anywho, it all looks good and must be done! Thank you!

    It's frustrating messing with brush piles like that. Sometimes its easier to just pull them apart, arrange them in little piles, and then load the truck. Its very time consuming.
    I feel your pain with leaving stuff in the truck bed and forgetting about it. I can't tell you how many shovels and rakes I've either dumped out somewhere or dropped concrete on top of them and destroyed them. Oh well, stuff happens. Thanks for sharing brother.

    • @eliteearthworksllc
      @eliteearthworksllc  3 місяці тому +1

      That’s what I ended up doing, you feel like you handle it 3-4 times but it’s much easier to load. Oh yeah rakes and shovels are probably the most of the items I’ve dumped stuff on lol! It’s tough to remember that stuff when you get to the job.

    Got some new side boards on the Dump truck I see 👀 you should really put steel tubular side boards much better longer lasting more deribal than wood and you probably could do it yourself just a side note C&C Equipment did a video recently on U-TUBE were they refurbished his dad's Dump truck and did just that along with alot of other really cool upgrades and plenty of 👍👍👍👍👍👍 for your videos 📹

    Sawing through logs that have rolled around in the dirt really take a toll on your chains. Do you have a sharpening set up in the shop? Or another plan?
    This time of year the elm, mulberry, hickory, and even hackberry saplings are really tough. I’m glad that I don’t have to haul mine off. Anything light and short enough to maneuver through the woods gets picked up with the grapple and piled on site.
    That place is really taking shape!

    • @eliteearthworksllc
      @eliteearthworksllc  3 місяці тому

      Yes they do. No I don’t have a sharpener I need to get one. I’ve been taking the chains to M&K outdoor on 15th right now. It’s like $5 a chain to sharpener them not bad but does get old remembering to go by there all the time. Brush is always a pain to deal with if you can’t burn on site. Appreciate you watching
