You are the bomb for referring back to Robbie multiple times. And I love your friends of the garden bath.
I watch Robbie"s channel I love how you gave props to her and encouraged others to visit her site. What I love about your videos is your down to earth personality ... Thank you !
You are so welcome! That's so nice of you!
I love your channel ❤️ just found it today 😊 I have been using the solar fountain system like you made for about a year now and it works great 👍 we don't get bad freezing weather so my fountain works even in the winter. I have an idea if you want your fountain to be taller. Just get another flower pot and turn it upside down and put your fountain pot on top of it. It works great 👍 much success with your gardening!! 💓🙋🌻🌷🌺🌱
Me too.
Thank you. Live the idea. Hope tp tune in again.
❤️love your comment
If you take away a few of the marbles, there will be a shallow pool for the bird to wash in. That’s what I did and they hang out in the shallow water and bathe. It’s wonderful to watch them! Thank you for this beautiful fountain 🙏🏻🤗
My friend made her bubbler just as you instructed, but she ran the top part of the tubing up through the thin end of a little tiny plastic funnel. All the water now fills up the bowl of the funnel and flows out all around over its edge. She's going to make a basket sleeve to wrap round her pot because the pot isn't such a nice color. She says she can make a new sleeve every year because it will rot in a season.
That sounds lovely!
Genius!! Ty
Love it! Thanx!😊
I have a goldfish pond with a frog spitter and a separate fountain, but a water source that is easier and safer for bees and other pollinators is a great idea. Drowned honeybees are a sad sight. The pond and fountain attract birds that eat insects, so giving them a simple distant water source is a great idea! Gardeners are often lovely folk, you appear to be a perfect example of that!
Thanks so much! Good luck if you do one!
Thank you for the non-slick, very helpful presentation. You have a gift, good teachers are rare. Keep it up!
Thanks! I appreciate that! (I'm definitely not slick! haha)
Your bird baths are seriously the most simplistic, brilliant baths I've found in 48 hrs of searching. Thank you for so many great ideas!!💛🐦🦋
Wow, what a nice garden feature. I loved seeing all the butterflies at the end of the video. You look beautiful sitting in your beautiful garden. Thank you. Very nice video.
Fun project! Feeling inspired 😊
I'm so glad you shared the part with the clear lid falling through! Lol 😂 #reallife
hahaha #reallife is right! You should make one!
My kids and I made 2 of these bubbler fountains today and want to thank you - it was fun, easy and now we have water features for the birds, bees and butterflies. My kids said you’re a great teacher - I agree.
Aw, that's so awesome! I'm so glad!!!!!!!!
Love this DIY water fountain! Suggestion: to insure the tubing/straw stays in place, use a cable tie above and below the pot dish/plate...
smart tip, thanks!
It’s gotta pass the "heavy squirrel test". 😆👍🏼
Thank you 4 giving Robbie credit!
No problem!
I've been watching Robbie off & on for a couple years. 1 thing she mentioned to keep the water from spraying so high (and out) is putting a tiny hole in the tube under the plate. Works like a diverter ...
Yes I totally agree with others - you have a great voice for this & excellent presentation! Thank you!
I have made a 3 tier with flower pots & saucers. My bucket hidden in the large bottom pot. It also gave support to the river rock filled upper ones!
Thank you for sharing! I'm going to do this one!
Thank you!
This is lovely. I like the idea of a lower water source set amongst the plants. Like a little pond.
Love this idea!! I think you could make it even better using some tubing splitters so you could have multiple fountains at the top too! Great gift idea!
I thought have more spouts of water would look better....but also thought that meant more pumps....thx for mentioning splitters
What is a tubing splitter?
I didn’t know I needed one of those! Thanks for including the how and why as you worked your way to the finished project.
Glad it was helpful!
I found that the family dollar clear balloon sticks pack 12 fits for tubing its only 30 cents. 👍🏼👍🏼
What a great idea!!! So easy to do on a budget! I just saw a concrete fountain that was $329. Beautiful, but way to expensive. This is a great alternative that is easily moved and managed in my garden!! ⛲⛲⛲⛲
I hope you put one together and have a lot of enjoyment!
How kind of you to show me how easy it is to make,! I hope your little birds & butterflies are enjoying themselves because they know they I’ll have a lovely flowing drinking water place & a little bath to bathe in !!! Love xx Helen xxxx
WE LOVE what you did! It looks SO PROFESSIONAL!
We are from SoCal too & LOVE Robbie & Gary's videos too! I made one with just the pump, a dishpan, some rocks & filled it with water. I think that I'd like to add a plate with holes too, so it's covering the pan & water. Then I won't have to worry about algae growing.
Thanks! 😁👍
I love this so much I was a beekeeper for years and still have an oasis for them with upsidedown wine bottles but have to fill them several times on hot hot days this is perfect you are awesome love your voice and how you showed how sometimes you need to pivot.
Thanks for the kind comments!
Upside down bottles? Do they hold water?
@@edwena6297 most wine bottles have an inward bottom which gives a perfect shallow area for bees to land on and approach to the edge of the water without having to stay airborne while sipping water.
@@healthdios Thank you. I save wine bottles for whatever idea I come across. Going to make some of these!

What a great idea! 💗
Love what you did! Thank you. Just right for my tiny little spot that I have started filling with native plants and wildflowers. Smiles
Thank you for a simple, well detailed fountain. Great job!
I love this!!! Will make one for my garden. I desperately need a water feature
Good luck, I hope you have fun with it!
Put some white rock in black pan then the marbles.
I wanted a small fountain for the birds at the front of my house and this idea is perfect.
Just a helpful hint; if you use a drill to make the holes it's not only faster and the holes are uniform you don't have to worry about excess plastic causing a dam and slowing the water flow.
Thank you for this helpful video. Can't wait to try this.
Love how you used the hot rod to make holes, how creative when you don’t even need a drill lovely!
I have used a drill on that type of plastic before and it cracks and breaks the plate. I know some people use soldering irons or hot glue gun tips for the same purpose. So many ways to do it!
A great idea. The bees will use this water feature as well. Thanks for sharing. 😊
I’m a new subscriber, just found your channel today. I have to thank you for making me laugh so hard when the translucent top fell through the container! Your reaction was priceless. I’m also inspired by your perfect explanations and beautiful views of your garden area. Thanks, and I look forward to watching more of your videos.
Thank you, and welcome!
OMGosh! Me too! You made me lol!😁 I loved that you left it in the video because that’s what great teachers do….they show that they are still learning too! Thanks for a wonderfully informative video! Just subscribed and I will check out the channel you mentioned too!😊
Love this little fountain! Thanks for sharing Jenny!
Thanks!
Robbie got me hooked too, sorry it was funny to watch you lose your marbles, 😆
Thank you!
On my garden-to-do list!!! Thank you!
That's cute! I love how easy it was. You should invest in a soldering pen. It makes quick work when you need to melt a hole in something. Harbor freight had 1 for $5.
Thanks for the idea!
TY! I just got one with my order for the water pump and I see that I can repair jewelry with it, too.
@@AbbaJoy1 your welcome! I make small pallet plant boxes and recently discovered that you can also burn holes in the wood so it wont split when you hammer the nails in. It's a handy little tool.
One thing I found that makes it easier with these is only buy the pumps that have an adjustment for the water flow.
In most cases you'll want to put it on the lower setting because as you can see here with the power of the pump, a small diameter container plus any wind it would be easy for the pump to drain because the water can end up going out of the fountain.
I never thought about putting marbles on top. I love that idea! Not only does it provide weight but bees will be able to use this as well which is super important.
Thanks for watching!
What a fun video and I love your kind and sweet way.
You did a wonderful job giving instructions for this project!
Thank you for sharing. You convinced me!!! 😊 I ordered 2 pumps and will have a wonderful time setting them up!
Wonderful! Have fun!
Thank you for such a thorough tutorial! Excited to try this 👍
Have fun!
Love your videos. You explain everything very clearly and you keep it real.
Use 2 or 3 of the clear for stronger maybe or use acrylic fake ice rocks? and you can find non rounded edges too. You can also use a cheap soldering iron to make holes. Worth the buy if you make lots of fountains!!!!!!
Thank you this was a great, simple project. It is now on my to do list!
Have fun!
Glad to have come across your tutorial. I have had other ready made fountains and always end up with issues. The last one was adorable little duck with babies and the paint chipped! Going back to simplicity with your idea. Already purchased a big blue bucket in the farm section of a store we have called "runnings". Watching your tutorial I now know what I need to make it work. I'm excited!!!!!!!
Hope you have fun creating your new fountain!
Great job. Thanks for sharing. Looks 👍🏾 👍🏾
Thanks for watching!
Love Robbie channel ❤learned so much ✌🦋🌺🌻From Florida
Love this! We just moved into a new home & I've been working on our yard. I really want a few water features but we don't have a lot of access to power in our yard so this would be a great option. Our home is a new build so there is no shade & we live on the Texas prairie so we may never have much in the way of shady areas so solar is a great option for us.
Yes, sounds like solar is a great option for you! Have fun!
Very clever, I love it and am putting this on my to do list. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for sharing your solar butler idea.
Weekend project!! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks! Hope yours comes out well!
Thank you for the clear explanation and the links. I also bought a soldering gun when I saw I can also use it to prepare jewelry.
I have finally bought some perennials for my little area outside my apartment. This bubbler will seem like a luxury! Just in time for summer vacation! I'm a teacher who will be working a lighter schedule for two months.
Bless you for being a teacher. So needed, & so often no fun! Thanks for being an everyday hero, & I hope you enjoy your outdoor area. If you like summer salads, you might enjoy adding a pot of green onions to sit beside your new fountain. No seeds needed, just pot up a bunch of store bought organic green onions that have some white roots at the bottom. I did this 2 years ago after watching Jeff's "Ripe Tomato Farms" green onion videos, & haven't bought any more since! A few of the older green 'leaves' snipped into a salad or omelet sure liven up the taste. I put some in each bowl of soup, too- takes that 'canned' taste out of it! 🍀🍀🍀
@@patriciatinkey2677 Actually, I do grow green onions. I keep some inside and some outside. Also rosemary, basil, and stevia. Currently, I have lavender near my fountain to catch any spillage. I love snipping my own herbs and onions to add to recipes! Add stevia leaves to water in the fridge and it gets sweeter each day. I used to add mint, but I let it die and haven't replaced it.
Thanks for your kind words about teaching. For me it is a calling. I'm 69, and pray for continued health.
I love this video!! I've done projects like this and this is a very "real" video. Don't know how I didn't think to melt holes in the plastic before but that's a great idea!! Thanks for sharing this project with us :)
You're welcome! Hope you give it a shot!
@@HarmonyHillsHomeandGarden I will! unfortunately, I'm in PA and our state is currently dealing with a mystery bird illness, so we're not supposed to put feeders or water out currently, but as soon as I can, this will be my project!!!
Fantastic Mothers Day gift!
I like these pollinator baths.
I made two of the Robbie-style bubblers last year and really enjoyed them. Loved going to the thrift stores on a treasure hunt for the supplies. I'm going to make one of these this year. Just need a pot and another fountain pump and I'm good to go! Thanks for a great idea. Your creation is lovely!
That is awesome! Sounds like you have a great thing going!
Hi. How often did you need to clean the filter/ unit to keep the water flowing?
I just ordered a solar pump that will be here tomorrow! I can't wait to do this fun and beautiful DIY for my birds and butterflies!
Hope you have fun!
Do you have the Amazon link for the solar pump
Love this idea! Butterfly 🦋
Thanks for sharing your ideas.
Thanks for watching!
Oh Thank you so very much for sharing this.. Its perfect for what I need. I wanted a bubbler in my new plant island but its far away from an electrical source and I didnt know if I wanted to use electric for it either.. But this will be perfect
Sounds like a great solution! good luck, have fun!
That was pretty darn spiffy! Thanks for the in-depth walk through and the "what-if" fail footage. That is so totally me! I am definitely adding this to my garden project list for the next few weeks. Also, that burgundy tradescantia at the edge of your flower bed is GORGEOUS! I had to take a triple-take at it to make sure it wasn't a sweet potato vine 😂
Thanks so much!
Giggled at 'spiffy'..❤😊
Smart and pretty thank you for showing us
I cannot wait to make one!!!
Such a great idea, looks beautiful! Unfortunate the pump didn't come with tubing but again, your choices are very helpful. If you use the clear top, you can also use the solid top cut out the center and just use the rim to hold the clear top secure? Might that work?
That might work, good thought!
What a great idea! I am excited to make one of my own. Thank you! I really enjoy your channel!
So glad you are going to try it! Good luck! :-)
Thank You, needed this, and a big Thank You Robbie!!!,,,HUGS N LOVE...
What a wonderful idea!☀️
you should try one!
Great idea and such a wonderful video! Thank you for sharing of your time and expertise! Hardware stores often carry various size tubing as well as food grade tubing. Our local Ace Hardware offers at least a half dozen size options and the lengths are measured, then cut to fit so I'm not paying for extra.
Good tips!
So cute! Now let's make one for MY yard! THANKS.
Go for it!
OMG!!! I haven’t related with a UA-camr as well as you…ever! YOU are a darling and totally could come on over for lunch anytime! :) lol, well if you are ever in Oregon that is.
That'd be AWESOME!!!!! Thanks so much!
Thank you for an easy, quick, and pretty fountain idea! I may actually follow through with this one - wonderful idea and instructions.
Love this! TFS!
very nice thanks for sharing

Awesome! Fun!
It was! Thanks for watching.
Love Robbie and her gardens and birds.
Me too!
Great video.. thank you!
I love that bubble fountain ❤❤❤
Thanks!
I absolutely love this idea ❤❤
So nice! And a very well done video. Keep an eye on the water level. It is amazing how much water bees drink. It may be less there than in the desert. Here they go through a few gallons a day!
I love fountains and I want to try this for hummingbirds and butterflies. Thank you for your video.i love it. Alice M😊
Have fun!
I just love how easy you made it look. I will be doing this in my yard. Thank you so much.
Have fun!
Very well done! Thank you for the detail and descriptions of how you did this.
I love this so much! I've made fountains before using old ceramic bowls but I've never had a solar pump before. Looks like I have a new garden project on my list now. :)
have fun!
Big fan of Robbie!
So many cute ideas!
