I don't think the TOS kit gets enough love. Maybe because the Refit is so complex and has so many 'issues'. Anyway, about those sensor grids. They were never engraved on the original filming model, only penciled in. The original release of the kit had deeply engraved lines, which most complained about. When Round2 released the anniversary kit, they replaced the saucer with a smooth version. There is, I believe, a template in the kit for drawing in those pencil lines for those that want them. The nacelles were intended to be lit as Matt Jefferies designed them, but the studio wouldn't cough up the money for the F/X.
Hey glad you spotted that the lighting kit came with the clear shuttle bay walls and roof ,😊 I was shouting at the screen as I saw them when you went through the lighting kit parts.😂😂 You could always light the chiller grills but put them on a separate switch so you can light them later if you want to or not but this would give you the option ? What do you think?
Question, can the buzzard collectors be wired separately to its own switch, that way I can enjoy the lighted model without the noise. And still have their function when wanted 18:08
@@epycmodels946 how do they look without the motors running, have you seen an example of it. I like the engines but the humming would drive me crazy while watching my fav episodes of trek. It’s my first kit and not sure just how loud they really are. Can I use a 9 volt battery to test how loud they are.
Yes you need to spray the interior for light blocking. Either use chrome silver or matt black. Depending on how much light you want showing through the windows.

SOO AWSOME! Can't wait for the the next update!
I'm starting my 350 TOS as well! Definitely will be following!
The grid lines on the saucer were added for the remastered series DVD/Blu-ray. They didn't exist in the original series.

They are all integrated into the circuit board but I suppose one could do that.

So no interior light blocking is needed on this kit?

@@epycmodels946 Thanks! Not sure how I missed that part.
