You like Star Trek or model building in general? Then my channel has what you want. From the Enterprise to Battlestar Galactica, my channel entertains you on how I build these models and more. Entertainment is the key and if you happen to learn then all the better. I hope what you see will help you build your models as best you want them. Everyone has their own way of doing a build and if there is a technique I do that will help you in yours then that is great! Most of how I build the models is self taught and observing how others did their ships. So I hope my channel helps you in your build and also be entertained. Have fun and leave comments.

In an anti-time future experienced by Captain Jean-Luc Picard in the year 2370, the Enterprise had been refitted with a third warp nacelle, a cloaking device, could reach warp 13, and included additional weapons and systems. Vice Admiral William T. Riker prevented the ship's decommissioning and used it as his personal flagship circa 2395. It was destroyed in the anti-time anomaly in the Devron star system, alongside anti-time past and anti-time present versions of the Enterprise-D.

I like cutting the groove for the nacelle wiring. Always liked the Dreadnaught class Enterprise D from "All Good Things" - cool to see you making it. When I did my Enterprise D, in the late 80's or early 90s, I ran the power for the nacelles along the leading edge of the pylons. was using single strand copper wire with a clear coat on it, and the bundle was about the thickness of the pylon, so it worked. Back then, there was no such thing as a blue LED...or a lighting kit...so I had to use green... but it worked. My dad helped with creating a circuit to make the beacons flash...and the power supply, it all worked. I had that model until about 2006 I think.
Good
The ring around the B/C deck is too dark. On the studio model, this band is rhe same color as the Enterprise . It's a very pale light blue grey. If you can find the photos of the disassembled model, in it's crate from where they redid it to be the USS Saratoga in deep space nine, yes that version didn't have the roll bar but the roll bar from when it was the reliant is still inside the crate and you can see all the different colors of the studio model. And you will see a lot of that duck egg blue in its proper color on a lot of the parts of the model. As there is plenty of close-ups. Even though it's renamed USS Saratoga and has a different registry number on it. But it's still the original model that was used as the reliant.
why didnt u use blue leds for the nacells directly ?
I would have if I had any.
I'm definitely not a fan of the effect on the turbo phaser cannon. But hey, I'm not the client, so.... Otherwise, thanks Ken for taking my mind off, however briefly, my recent amputation. Makes me want to go grab my AGT Enterprise by diamond select from storage and load it with batteries. Pew-pew!

I wonder if a plastic rod would of worked as a phaser beam?

You can get longer LED light strands as well.
Dude, the warp nacelles had two lights in the front of each Bussard's collector.

See there is two light sources in the front of the nacelles not a single light source.
can u send me all your phots u used
Beautiful. I’ve recently gotten into modelling (I’m working on the Fanhome Millennium Falcon and the Galileo shuttle from TOS) and I know how time consuming, expensive and hard it is to make things look real. I hope some day I’ll be able to make something as brilliant as yours. Well done.
Looking forward to the lighting. If possible could you show how you build your flashing effects boards? I want to build my own, but I'm struggling with it and there are loads of UA-cam videos but they're all different and I can't get them to work..... Thanks if you can.

@ Thank you very much
Are you going to model the bits that go on the nacelles later?
I always hated what they did to it with this, I can see the extra nacelle, and even the cannon, but the other bits were kind of OTT.
I would disagree. That's why I loved this Enterprise better than every other one.

I just used a drill to lightly scratch out the windows, but not thru the plastic!
Then you need to scratch out the interior as well as long as you know where the windows you did on the outside.
terbaik@@epycmodels946
Wasn't the model made from translucent plastic so that you wouldn't need to drill holes?
Yes it was but I have to paint the interior as well so you'd have to scratch out the area where the window is there also but there is no indicator as to where the windows are inside so I drill them out completely then use window maker to fill them in again. Either that find a masking set for the tiny windows and mask them but you'd have to have enough masking for the interior but then again you run into the same issue, there is no indicator where the windows are in relation to the exterior.
terbaik@@epycmodels946
@@epycmodels946 You could try priming both sides, scrape the windows out on the outside, then put a light table/other light source behind and only scrape the inside where window light is already coming through.
why not make templates for these parts? save yourself time later, also tracing with a active saw blade not your smartest idea
This kit was obsolete over 25 years ago. Jesus, those raised panels. They'll never retire this and give modelers the D they deserve.

It's a pity we never got to see any more of this badass ship.

I lik😮 you light strip idea!
terbaik
very nice, only bad part is the stand blocking the deflector dish,
terbaik
Do you have a link for the strip lighting your buying? and the main wiring plugs?
I get my strip lighting in Ebay. It comes from China. If you mean power jacks I get those from either DigiKey or Newark. I also get all the Resistors from them also and other electronic compnonents
How much is it for you to build one ?
You can message me on my email knelson5621@gmail.com and will give you the details.
What about the tail end and the weapons pod ?
I wanted to build one of these but wasn't sure how to go about it. Now I do. THANK YOU
There is a Nebula Class Conversion kit at Lake Monster Models
I must have that Model. It may take me months to a year to detail the plastic better, then prime & spray paint the parts, clean up the windows & so on then glue them carefully together & get special decals made to change the name of this ship. I like to kit bask & this model would be perfect to do that. I love the work your doing

I just got out of hospital and it was a real treat to see this series. Thanks, Ken.

Just joined your channel. Getting reayd to do the 537 Enterprise myself. I have a couple of questions as I am just now getting back into the modeling realm. 1- What do you use as your power source to check the various power lines? I see that occasionally you use a 9V battery, but when you are testing full circuits (15:17) it looks as if you have a full 12V power supply somewhere off camera. 2- What do you recommend for a soldering iron for these projects? I have a full size soldering iron, but it it too bulky and unweildy for delicate work such as this. Thank you for any help you can offer. Looking forward to watching the rest of the build.
Well 1. for the full lighting test I use a 12 volt 1amp power supply. You don't really need anything more powerful than that. The main lighting I use needs a 12 volts 1amp source to work, all the other I run the main power through a 5 volt regulator that cuts down the amps to the regular LEDs so they last longer. 2. I have a Weler soldering unit and use a fine point tip to solder with. Most of my work is pretty small and need the point tip.
Are you drilling out those Windows ?
Yes I am
@epycmodels946 What Size Drill Bit are you using ?
I think it was a #78
What paint (color And brand) did you use for the off-white exterior?
I used a Light Grey Tamiya Surface Primer
Back when your camera equipment was more ancient :) But this is a great series as it really shows well how to scratchbuild a really good nebula. Still a real reference.
Nice work how much do yiu charge to light one and build if rhe model is provided
If you have it already I charge $1200 Canadian ($880 American). Half up front then the rest after completion.
I'm curious what rotary tool you use for drilling out the windows? Working on my E and that did not go well for me, even on low speed settings it melted the plastic and caused issues.
Just used a dremmel with I think a 78 bit. You need to let the drill do the work. Do not force it. If you do it messes things a bit.
Hmm .. pretty nice! I always thought the Voyager was the prettiest of all Star Trek ships.
Coming along well are you lighting the engines
Yes they are already lit.
Nice work, Ken! This model does exactly what I'd want it to do if I owned it.
What an amazing job, I'm having to buy the Tomy diecast Refit cause I have no modeling skills to speak of. The Tomy's paint work is interesting. Forget what it's called but they have like a big balloon or rubber bubble they dip in a silkscreen ink, and then they transfer the ink in that Aztec onto the surface. They do that four times in four colors one over the next. They also said they're using the same kind of paint that taxidermists use for painting fish that hang on the wall for sportsman. Still I admire one who can actually build one and make it look so good, but I'm overjoyed that Tomy is making one out of metal for people like me that will never build one. thanks for the video.
A Voyager ship lost in another alternative universe created by The Borg.... The ship extensively damaged consisting of front section of the saucer missing(up to the upper dome) 1 engine missing the other only 50% usage possible.... In the Alt-verse there is wreckage from other ships from different timelines & Species eg sections of Birds of Pray(most common wreckage found), Romulan, Vulcan etc... The Voyager remaining crew are forced to use those wrecks and build a new ship... The ship now has 2 bird of pray front sections grafted side by side onto the front of the saucer section.... Engine`s replaced with Romulan engines... And Vulcan version of a Deflector array.... Now they are forced to fight new enemies... Help new friends.... And to find a way home...........
Looking good! have been tempted to do a voyager model myself just wish they would do it 350th scale lol
That turned out awesome! Great job!
Looks great. Where did you get your COB lighting from? I haven’t seen them cut into that short of length before. That would be handy to cut them half the size of what I bought.
I get them off of Ebay.
@@epycmodels946 I’ll take a look. Thank you.
Do you have a link to the power adapter you used for my Enterprise B and this style base? I’m doing the same stand with the E I’m going to attempt, but am not sure which wall plug to get.
It is a Triad 12 volt 1amp Power Supply. Model # 812WSU120-1000. I purchased it at DigiKey.ca
WSU120-1000-13
@@epycmodels946 awesome, appreciate it!
🙊 Nice work Ken!!! 👏👏👏
You are the bravest man I know.
Dangerous series for me to have watched. The C is my favorite Enterprise, and I’m really tempted to try and build and light one. I have one currently I commissioned years ago, but it has no lighting. I’d take it apart, but I worry about destroying it.
I can do it for you.
I'm struggling to build this lol do u offer help
