      I know, it’s odd when people get to a level where they feel like they don’t even have to get minimally prepared or informed about a topic that they are invited to comment on. But in a way it was also interesting to see his reactions as he got filled in on it. Even Shultz is misinformed af about most topics he’s about to cover. He was saying that the suspicion is that Kutcher killed his girlfriend, and that’s not true at all. What this woman (who knew Kutcher and his rapist friend) has been saying is that Ashton found his gf dead and instead of reporting it to the police he called his agent, and in doing so gave the killer enough time to cover his tracks and kill another woman later. And that’s true, the police confirms that. That’s why even tho I like Shultz and Charlemagne I’d rather watch other, less successful UA-camrs, that are way better informed about things, cause they don’t think that they are now big enough that they can afford to be lazy and not know much about what they’re supposed to comment on.

    She is not implying that Ashton killed his gf. He found her dead at her place and decided not to report it because he didn't want it to tarnish is career. He lied to the LAPD about it although the police knew he was there. Because of this they could not convict the actual killer and he got to kill again.

I’d be freaked out if my first date was bold enough to walk on into my home if I was not answering his calls or knocks on the door

    They shouldn't accept character letters from anyone besides long term intimate partners. I say this because of my own mistake. I wrote a character letter for my boyfriend, who at the time i'd been with for 3 months. He became violently abusive a few months later, and I realized that you never know who someone is behind closed doors and until you live with them. I should NEVER have done that. Six years later, he was convicted of abusing me.

      @@lNowHerel True. I was thinking about my own situation without remembering that there are freaks out there that will keep the secrets of their psycho partners. I think then maybe they just don't accept character letters? I mean look at some of the most prolific serial killers in history. Ted Bundy's friends thought he was absolutely wonderful and charming. Heck, AFTER he was charged people were STILL enamoured with him. People just have NO clue what others are capable of. It's a scary thought and we likely don't want to acknowledge it cuz it means that the person sitting next to you on the subway might be a violent criminal. It's not like abusers and rapists walk around town proclaiming that they're psychopaths killing people. Thank you for pointing out my oversight 😊

    • @anovosedlik
      @anovosedlik 11 місяців тому +1

      @@dimitar297 I somewhat agree and here's why: I was date raped by someone I didn't know at a party and it was totally unexpected and a one-off. I was taken off-guard. I wasn't prepared to collect evidence. I was a teen and didn't know what a rape kit was. I'd have been at a loss had i tried to press charges. I was also deeply ashamed though it wasn't my fault. Years later, now I'm in a violently abusive relationship and since I now have the foresight to predict when I will get abused, I know how to collect evidence (it's still kind of tough but it's much easier). When my boyfriend was convicted, I had so much evidence that in my case, his lawyer realized that if he pleaded not guilty, this would go to court and wayyyyy more evidence would come out. And then he would be in prison for at least 10 years. So the lawyer just said 'plead guilty ASAP and do whatever she wants you to do' (I wanted him to get therapy, start taking his meds, and take a course on IPV so he'd never hurt me or anyone else again). I couldn't do that with the one-off rape.
      With ongoing abuse, I made sure I had recordings of our phone conversations where he blatantly admits shit. You can retrieve texts from your cell providers. Always make sure when you are being abused that you go to the hospital. Take photos at the hospital and have the doc take pics. That way, the evidence is obviously not tampered with. If you can, take videos. Save ALL evidence and try to get your abuser to confess on paper. It's not too hard to do. You can't do this in a one-time rape. Or even if it happens a couple times. I didn't start collecting my evidence for DV until I'd been beaten several times. The sporadic nature of abusers is confusing to normal people. So you have got to be prepared. I understand why these women may not have the kind of evidence I do for my situation, but trust me, nobody wants to be the girl that falsely accused a celeb of rape. NOBODY wants to have asshole incels on the internet telling them they're lying sluts. It's bizarre to me when people say 'oh they're just lying'...for what? If they're not trying to get money and they're not trying to gain clout, WHY would they subject themselves to BRUTAL trial proceedings???

    Personally, it very much comes off of Mila Kunis like she is pissed she has to even defend their letter. If they have not been in a sexual relationship with someone maybe don't speak on that part of their life. The just lost out on 20 million dollars each btw because they were just getting ready to sign the deal with Netflix to air that 70's show until the end of time on Netflix and each main cast member was going to get 20 million each then this made Netflix pull the deal. And hey, if they work sooooo closely together with SA victims they should know the ramifications of writing letters on behalf of their friend's "CHARACTER"....They should have done what Seth Rogen did when all the crap turned out to be true about James Franco, they were best friends and screen partners and writers for years and Seth Rogen has enough smarts about himself to know where there's smoke there's fire. They all deserve what's coming their way in my opinion and i bet many others would feel the same is their sister, mother, daughter was one the victims, funny how that changes perspective.

When my parents found out that my partner is violently abusive towards me, they went to his parents and said 'how would you like it if YOUR daughter's boyfriend did this to her?' They walked in on him strangling me (for the millionth time) ... unfortunately, some people don't have enough empathy or ability to really think about that and relate. My partner's parents also have a daughter, yet they only half-cared. It's frightening that people can be so ignorant.

    Ashton knew all of Danny's victims. They hung out together. Mila knew them a little. Danny was a D.J. back then. His name was something that means drug, then rap& a person. I forgot what it was. Danny was raised in Scientology(cult). The victims were in it too. They reported what happened to Scientology because you are not allowed to report any crime regarding a Scientologist to police. Danny's entire family is high up in the church. They are also considered "celebrities" and help recruit other celebrities. It was pretty much known among Danny and Ashton's social group that he did r sometimes. They were all young, on a hit show(considered famous) party boys and had some money. Back then people admired that. They could get away with anything. Scientology told the girls it was their fault. They must have done something for Danny to think it was okay since he is the celebrity.
    Ashton went to his girlfriend house. They had a date (I think to an awards show or big party) and she didn't answer the door, he looked through a window close to the door just thinking she didn't hear him knock and saw her laying on the floor with blood around her. The front door was unlocked so he went in and realized she had been murdered. He called Danny who had the phone on speaker (that is what the girl online was talking about knowing what he did) and asked him what to do. Danny's girlfriend was beside him when he had the phone on speaker so she heard the conversation. Ashton was freaking out. Danny and Ashton decided he should not call the police because it might hurt the show. Ashton also called his agent who also said not to call the police. Ashton left and continued with his plans. When the police found the girl, they talked to Ashton because his finger prints were in the house. He told them the truth but they(police and Ashton) came up with he knocked on her door she didn't answer, he glanced in the window and saw red and the floor but thought it was wine so he left. Her killer turned out to be a serial killer. Ashton actually testified a few years ago with his phony story. The police have admitted it was phony. Ashton was never a suspect but may have been useful giving any info he might have looked back and remembered something she said or a car that kept driving by that kind of stuff.
    The issue with the character letters. His D.J. nickname was the same thing he was accused of doing, it was kind of known Danny did that among their group. Ashton and Mila knew the girls he got convicted for r. Ashton started an organization to help stop child trafficking and was very involved and passionate about it. When he married Mila she got involved also and had a position with the organization. All the while writing a letter to a judge asking him not to give their friend too long of a sentence for r. people Ashton and Mila had been friends with. They both had to resign for thom the organization they were passionate about and that Ashton was a co founder of. They know they will lose jobs over their letter that they thought would never be made public. That apology video was so fake and they very both very angry because they got so much backlash.
    I would not write a letter for asking for leniency for a friend who had already been found guilty and you know how he used to be. I would get word to him (if I wanted to support him) to tell him i will write you letters, you can call me, I will come visit, put money in your commissary and be there for your wife and children But not write a letter to the judge!
    Scientology is known for poisoning anyone's pets, following them, paying the garbage men to give them their trash, digging up dirt by any means to people they can scare or blackmail that Scientology considers an enemy. Some who could make the church look bad. Also as a member of Scientology you are required to give them info on anything you have ever done bad or feel guilty about so they can fix you. If a Scientologist gets in trouble and it gets outside the church walls they will try their best to to make sure the public doesn't find out because it puts a negative light on them.

      It’s truly disheartening to hear that this situation is challenging to comprehend and that you think that when people cause harm to the community they espouse to support, they should just apathetically ignore it and not hold themselves accountable. They have been brought into this discourse because they wrote letters to defend and support an perpetual abuser of SV/SA and did this to discredit survivors, which is antithetical to the values they claim to espouse. People are also shining a light on Ashton’s disgusting pattern of behaviour, specially how he (as an adult man) non-consensually SA’d a 14yr old CHILD. Their acts of moral offsetting and the good work does not absolve them of harmful behaviour and actions, and if anything, their stance makes their work appear disingenuous. This example is important to discuss because it’s something that survivors related to. Survivors are endlessly discredited and their life-long trauma is eclipsed by people defending and excusing abusers of SV/SA. Whether it’s Ashton, Mila, your friend, your coworker, your family member, or your boss, we must collectively challenge those that defend and excuse SA/SV, and discredit and further traumatize survivors.
      Based on your comment, I anticipate that you’ll flippantly dismiss this as a “social justice warrior”, but I’m happy to be wrong! This situation highlights broader and nuanced issues, and I truly hope you sit with the discourse that provides more fulsome critiques of these issues.

Now, when will we see your condemnation for Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith, who were the onset "parents" who could've stopped this terrible case of sexual assault on a 14-yr-old girl and who also wrote letters of support?!? I know she's supposed to be a devout Methodist, but clearly Rupp is secretly the Devil in disguise, and we must all say that, because demonizing people in return is what survivors really need to do to make it all better that they felt undermined. hey Schulz, after someone is found guilty. you don't need to call his victims "accusers" anymore. I know you're a misogynist, but this is beyond the pale my guy
