Unfortunately no one in my life ever rung the bell on how awesome Kate Bush is so I just discovered her recently and now I'm obsessed with her work. I feel she's one of the most all-around talented people I've ever seen in popular music history. And you can see in her interviews that her amazing work was possible through extreme humility, dedication to her work and intelligence.
"This woman's work" is surely her pinnacle of vocal-piano interrelationship... no one has ever written a sadder sounding piece. But it's quietly epic, same as Kate!
Thanks for the documentary ... Kate Bush is wonderful. A well sorted out, well spoken and brilliant artist and musician. There is no one else like her...
I remember "Don't give up" with Peter G. as a teen. I love that song and thought that Kate had a wonderful voice, and was very pretty. I had forgotten about her till today. I've been poring through her videos for hours, and I'm so glad that she is new to me. Thanks for posting!!!
I have always absolutely loved this womans performance,..Im only a simple living woman ,..but with her wuthering heights,...she took me into a world that was out of my dreary dull comfort zone and I really felt the need to gobble it all up ,..I did, it was a pivotal turning point in my "living room" musical life,..introduced me to, and made me taste the delicious tonic of the world of musical genre,. outstanding performer.
Lifted me up on a magical carpet ride out of my miserable life when 15 years old with wuthering heights and been spellbound ever since. nothing she does sounds the same it's all so Unique 💚🎶🙏 changed my life xxxxxxxx
She is SO personable... really open & humble... no ego ... just loads of talent!!! Have just realized just how much... "Man With The Child in His Eyes"... just unique...
I think what you find is she sounds very similar to her father who had a very pleasant and softly spoken voice just as Kate does. Softly spoken and gentle Is how it comes across. I saw a rare clip of Kate sitting with her parents in their idyllic garden and all you could take from the clip is how proud they were of Kate Bush. The fondness of Kate was palpable on the very short clip. Just a very endearing clip.
Can you imagine ANY male musician in the entire history of music being accused of being 'aggressive' for insisting on a particular track he'd written being released in a particular order?
Kate Bush inspirational and motivational to many of us women. Her music is breathtakingly dynamic and often very beautiful and evokative. I loved her music, still do. Has been part of my life and many others of us. Thank you kate. You are a musical genius.
Thank you for posting this!! I can't wait for more. I could not imagine my world without Kate's music. It's like floating into some sublime alternate reality, and it's so blissful there.
Oh My Gosh..What a wonderfully gentle pure soul. I mean I have loved Kate for years and years but to see this and she is so innocent even with all the fame.... Beautiful. Very beautiful.
It's sad that I am nearly 40 and alot of this is before I was even born. It's sad it is so long ago now. She was so beautiful and poised. Imagine a young, musically active 20 something Kate today. She would be a phenom (just like then) because she is so different. I love her. Such an original. There are no equals.
I think Kate was doing a musical “character” before others. The difference between he soft voice, almost nerves of having to have questions asked of her work, and then you see the on stage persona in something like Babooska.
pfffffffffft "high school drama club" should be so lucky to have Kate Bush as a member! lol She's a musical and performing genius, a living legend and drop-dead gorgeous to boot......a stunningly beautiful woman, person and soul
Kate bush is integrity personified. I find that whole 'compromise is not an option' amongst artists very attractive, and from Kate just downright sexy. My favourite female artist of all time and my second solo artists after bowie.
@Provokator09 The very first song you hear is This Woman's Work, 1989, on The Sensual World album ; there's also a re-recorded version on Director's Cut, 2011. The next song you hear (and see on stage) is Them Heavy People from her debut album The kick Inside, 1978.
I believe these amazing interview clips are from "The New Music," a very intelligent music "magazine" show from Toronto, ON. I believe Jana Lynn-White, Christopher Ward (who asked the "offensive" question ;) and Daniel Richler (son of Canadian author Mordecai Richler).
I've never really recovered from seeing her first video. I used to know someone who'd worked with her a bit. He said "I thought I smoked a lot of d0p3 until I met this woman...""
@pinchmeImnotdreaming She did an interview recently for American Public Radio in which she and the interviewer were completely sympatico. It was a great interview. No agenda on either side - just the sense of a genuine conversation going on. One of the best interviews I've heard with Kate .
She's not just a great singer and composer but a phenomal visual artist. The complete package - unique
Phenomenal

I love the way the music flows through her. She's wonderful! thanks for sharing this video I'm so happy I found it.

Yes. You literally hear about them all the time.
You DON'T know English musicians...lol.especially back in 80's! Tons of them lol .

@brittleeyes Yes, they're both very soft-spoken and have voices pleasant enough to narrate audiobooks.

Thanx for showing this :)
Not to be crude or anything, but in her prime she was the best looking woman I think I've ever laid eyes on...and heard....
She certainly has an aura of beauty and talent, I loved her kookiness it just added to her character.
The sound of her voice in certain songs sounds like she is mourning for whole world.

@@amyb326 Yeah. I've read the same when Kate's studio guys were being interviewed in magazines.
@pinchmeImnotdreaming
