Relax with the dramatics it'll be fine. This is expected when your successful, and it's a step up not a lateral move. There are other coaches out there, Cig will find his replacement, this won't affect recruiting.
When you become a good program you loose assistant coaches its a compliment. Oregon usually needs a new offensive coordinator every year. That's life at the top
I’m sure coach has a plan forward and was expecting things like this. Usually staff changes around in ways, but as long as the foundation is still there, it doesn’t shake the earth.
Love Cigetti's approach. When you lose an assistant, hire a better replacement. Cignetti has made QB's player of the year in whatever league he was in a lot longer than his current coach has been QB coach OR OC. He knows what he is doing.
Bob Knight and Curt Cignetti, Nick Saben. Coaches who made a difference. They aren't common but they are out there and Indiana basketball desperately needs one.
Why would a high school quarterback ever go to a school that always started a QB from the transfer portal? Your suggestion that a school should bring in a QB from the portal every year would eliminate your ability to recruit quality QBs.
Good point. The idea of a transfer is to fill in gaps with your recruiting. If you have done a good job of developing, recruiting, and retaining players, you shouldn't need portal transfers at quarterback, at least as your program gets established.
I wish Tino Sunseri well. I think this may have been a bit premature on his part, but I wish him well. On the other hand, in 1-2 yrs this could have been a brilliant move for him to get elevated to that school's HC position...!?
pay attention...Tino Sunseri was not 'the only chance' to land any transfer portal QB this month; I'm not sure he had any chance to decide...period. HC Curt Cignetti is clearly in charge of the final and complete decision on any position, and so-called 'star ratings' by media sources do NOT matter to him, wh/ he's said repeatedly. That is not at all one of any of his criteria for any position choice for recruiting, whether from HS or the portal! Pay attention, and stop fretting!
Jacob, dial back the pessimistic melodramatics. Certainly, Tino did a great job, but for him to move up the coaching ladder is to be expected when you’re successful. On a positive note, the Indiana program is clearly on the ascent and there are going to be options available who want to be a part of the Cig machine. Believe me, having been going to IU games since the mid-1970’s (I’m a glutton for punishment!), coaches WANTING to come to B-town is an exciting development. Re: JuJu Lewis, there was no way he was coming here, so forget that nonsense. Curt Cignetti I’m sure has anticipated these things and will get the right guy to fill the slot. Show some optimism, dude…there is a lot to be positive about!
This is what I don’t like about this era of CFB (NIL, transfers). Michigan grad from 1971 and lived through ups and downs. Look what we went through last year compared to this year! I currently am retired in Bloomington and so happy for Indiana this year. Have faith in your head coach. CFB is a lot of ups and downs and a much more stressful time for coaches! Well now I cheer for both Indiana and Michigan. Actually happy when a Big Ten team beats an SEC school EXCEPT for Ohio State! ❤️🤍💙💛
'deciding not to care' on D, or on O, is the 100% responsibility of the coaching staff - all of it - especially the HC! What happens is what's been tolerated since these guys arrived on campus. Woody's head is still in the NBA, which has nothing to do w winning in CBB...Woody doesn't have a clue how to adjust - he's a poor coach.
Is there any chance that you are allowed a little freedom in your assigned wording? "my everydayers" as an example. It just grinds on ya after a while.
@@BowmanBromley I had to reply and make sure you knew your opinion was irrelevant. Gotta put you back in your place zzzzzz. Right we beat Michigan, who beat Ohio State but we didn't play anyone KEKW. Trash take
@ Michigan was and is trash, just because OSU is over rated and lost to a trash team that can’t throw the damn ball doesn’t make your win good. You got donkey kicked by the team that lost to that horrible Michigan team.
Indiana football has had enough doomsday news the last 100 years. Can you be optimistic at all? We’re on the cusp of the playoffs and you’re just searching for bad news. A couple of weeks ago you had Cignetti out the door. C’mon man!
Over dramatizing as usual. A new coach will be fine. No guarantee that coach will succeed at UCLA. Who says IU will be looking for a quarterback anyway.
I wouldn’t bank on cherry being the guy. I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if he entered the portal, it seems like he was the 4th qb this year behind Mendoza as well.
he was a true freshman lol. No shit he was 4th on the list and honestly Mendoza was behind him from the reports earlier this year. Cherry is 6'5 and almost the same frame and throwing style as Rourke. He better suits our offense then Jackson and Mendoza.
Mendoza appeared earlier in games/more often and from what I’ve seen looks like Mendoza was the third string. With the ability to transfer whenever you want would it really be shocking if did enter the portal while his stock is still high? I’m not saying I expect him to more just saying I think it’s very possible.
Have you watched a game this year?....and....Mbako is always freak athlete?...you are so bad at this. Give up the extra paycheck bro...have some integrity

This happens every year with good teams, no big deal, we still kept our QB HC and our OC
I’m sure coach has a plan forward and was expecting things like this. Usually staff changes around in ways, but as long as the foundation is still there, it doesn’t shake the earth.
We will be absolutely fine Cignetti is our head coach. Not worried one bit
Love Cigetti's approach. When you lose an assistant, hire a better replacement. Cignetti has made QB's player of the year in whatever league he was in a lot longer than his current coach has been QB coach OR OC. He knows what he is doing.
I agree with other comments; Cignetti will find a good man to replace Tino. On another note, I believe IU BB is in trouble.
Without question a big loss losing our quarterback coach however he is not irreplaceable.
I wonder if Trent Green would want to be a QB coach?
Your volume setup is LOUD. I have to turn down my computer volume way down. Please make an adjustment. Thank you.
Hey Karen, please adjust your volume or move on.
Bob Knight and Curt Cignetti, Nick Saben. Coaches who made a difference. They aren't common but they are out there and Indiana basketball desperately needs one.
Just in. Huge Overreaction! We'll, be just fine.🤣🤣🤣
Cignetti was Philip Rivers QB coach. I am sure he can recruit a QB.

This is such an overreaction.
I love the Washington State kid!

MORE importantly Jacob, what outcomes would help or hurt us today in the games? (Who should we be rooting for)
pay attention...Tino Sunseri was not 'the only chance' to land any transfer portal QB this month; I'm not sure he had any chance to decide...period. This is where Cignetti will need to succeed where Allen failed in order to sustain this level of play.
We need John Mateer. Break out the checkbook.
We need a Kurt Warner type. Wife, family, and bagging groceries, but feels he has it if given the chance.
Jacob, dial back the pessimistic melodramatics. Certainly, Tino did a great job, but for him to move up the coaching ladder is to be expected when you’re successful. The system is still intact. All the other coaches return. Impact will be minimal.

In other news... podcast announcer replaced due to terminal over reaction.

Might I add
IU 42 - UCLA 13
We’ll be fine. Next!
Is there any chance that you are allowed a little freedom in your assigned wording? "my everydayers" as an example. It just grinds on ya after a while.
It’s not as huge as your making it about Tino. Cignetti will find a great QB coach
“Welcome to the constant over reaction podcast!!”
I'm sure Cig already had some other coaches already in mind. This is a HUGE OVERRACTION by Jacob.
Ooooopppppssss😂 well, at least you had one winning season Hoosiers.
IU is getting blown out in the first round of the playoffs.
No one cares about your opinion zzzzz. AWFUL TAKE
@ you did enough to reply… they didn’t play anyone all year and will be ran off the field in the playoffs.
@@BowmanBromley I had to reply and make sure you knew your opinion was irrelevant. Gotta put you back in your place zzzzzz. Right we beat Michigan, who beat Ohio State but we didn't play anyone KEKW. Trash take
Don’t feed the trolls.

Or even Penn States
Indiana should go after Georgia or Texas OC
What are you Smokin’???😂😂😂
@heljestrand In order to be the best you have to go out and get the best now don't you
Bro how deep do you know Tino? This is a hyperbolic channel
Ok ok ok, enough with all the we are hurt hurt hurt hurt hurt hurt hurt hurt, we get it! 😂 holy cow man, how many times you gotta say it.
Huge loss? He was trash......
Stop with the overreacting I agree with a lot of people on here the program will be fine
Sure he’s a solid asset but a huge loss? Think you’re reaching quite a bit there… He ain’t stopping nothin

This guys takes are awful. I wouldn't take what this guy says seriously.
I would say act like you been here before but Indiana hasnt welcome to the top bud it happens every year
Awful take. We are fine at QB and honestly don't need any to transfer in.
