7:00 homie, I think you meant Ed's floor is pretty high. A low floor means you can get into a character easily and perform at a decent level with relatively low investment.
That is the conventional use of skill floor and ceiling, yes, but that understanding makes no sense when the terms are used together like the caster did here (iow, everyone is wrong). On an xy graph where x is player skill and y is character strength, his usage of the terms makes sense. The low floor character is easy to be bad with, and the high ceiling character is incredibly strong in the right hands.
@@Paltheos Skill floor and ceiling are terms used in game design that have nothing to do with how strong a character is and everything to do with complexity. A low skill floor character can be high tier (Luke) or low tier (Honda). A high skill floor character can be high tier (Ed) or low tier (Dhalsim).
@@catspaw Yeah, I said that already, and that that's wrong and why. If you want to know why, try graphing a character (hypothetical or real) on your own time. The problem with the folk wisdom is fundamentally incompatible definitions that become apparent on an actual graph. I've gotten into enough discussions about this that that's all I want to say. Don't bother responding if you're not going to do at least that much.
@@Paltheos I literally just gave you four examples from Street Fighter 6. Which one of those is incompatible in your mind? Again, complexity and strength are two different pillars, that while obviously linked, are still independent variables; you can make any character strong or weak by simply adjusting numbers. I'll give you examples of each from Granblue Versus, since I'm very familiar with that game: Low Floor/Low Ceiling, Low Tier: Gran Low Floor/Low Ceiling, High Tier: Siegfried Low Floor/High Ceiling, Low Tier: Yuel Low Floor/High Ceiling, High Tier: Belial High Floor/Low Ceiling, Low Tier: Anre High Floor/Low Ceiling, High Tier: Nier High Floor/High Ceiling, Low Tier: Eustace High Floor/High Ceiling, High Tier: Cagliostro Remember it's called SKILL floor/ceiling for a reason. Yes, if you make up your own definitions then you may run into problems, but as design concepts these terms are very well understood. A lot of ken players only use ken run Dp in combo but it's also good using it unexpected run Dp underneath fireball
Oh good, a Luke mirror.....😢
Luke got the third strike Sean treatment in s2.
Not even close. Sean got buried from 2nd Impact to 3rd Strike.
Lily neutral so dumb
Paladin only Rashid looser players spam
Booce, nervous and indecisive play. Corner panics #1 Ken? Get back in the lab.
