    Was so beautiful to see both versions, I don't think I ever saw the unedited one before and it gives me chills to to watch her speak and give such an emotional speech about things that really are so true. I wish more girls would see this because she had some really important things to say to them in this generation we are in. Love her so much!

    I grew up in the 80's as a teen age closeted gay teen and I wouldn't still be here on this earth without the encouragement Madonna gave me through her music and her words and the way she pushed that it is okay to be who you are no matter what!

    Good to hear from you Madam. I was lost without a Madonna monday last week. lol Sorry to hear about your troubles. Hang in there. Sending you love and light! Love the shirt btw! This speech was so raw, emotional, and so true. A speech only the Queen could give! So glad she was honored. One of her best speeches and very inspiring for women (but everyone). I love Madonna so much and I was in tears when I watched this back then. I still do today. Society is a mess on many levels, I agree.

    Thinking about you….sending you good, positive vibes. I’ve been watching all your Madonna videos. Love your reactions. I’ve been a Madonna fan since 1983 when I was 14 years ago. I’ve seen all her concerts live in Chicago since the Virgin Tour in 1985. I’ll be seeing her live again in February. ❤❤

    Dear Madame Roast Beef, I have been an ardent admirer of your Madonna Mondays, but this latest tour has left me disheartened. As a longtime fan of Madonna, it pains me to witness her delivering the exact same speech each night, devoid of sincerity. The entire production feels overly orchestrated from the moment the show commences, lacking any sense of spontaneity. Every move seems meticulously planned, detracting from the genuine essence of the performance. It is truly disheartening to witness someone I deeply admire seemingly disregard their artistry.

    • @jluebs
      @jluebs 6 місяців тому +4

      Have you ever been to a Madonna concert? I've never been to one that is spontaneous, it's always meticulously planned. Ok for the speech if it's basically the same every night right now, I'll give you that, but a mega-rehearsed oiled machine has always been how her concerts are. Plus I think the Vogue segment is rather spontaneous, a different guest every night, dancers dance however they'd like.

    • @MrJ0NE5
      @MrJ0NE5 6 місяців тому

      @@jluebs I appreciate your fervor for Madonna and her work, but I have some points to share that might offer a different perspective. I have been observing her performances each night, and I've noticed a certain pattern. The emotion she exhibits, particularly her tears, seem to be a part of the routine rather than a genuine reaction. It's hard to believe that one could maintain such emotional intensity night after night without becoming desensitized.
      As for her tour's seamless operation, I understand that it might seem like a well-oiled machine to you, but it's important to note that not everything is as it seems. However, I understand that this might not resonate with your perception, and that's perfectly fine. Continue to enjoy your Madonna journey!
      It's heartening to see that you perceive Madonna as a perfect artist, with her artistic integrity as strong as it was when she started. However, consider the idea that this tour might not be a product of her artistic expression as much as it is a commercial venture. For someone who seems to have studied her career in detail, you might recall that she did not play the acoustic guitar until she received one as a gift from her husband. This led her to take lessons and integrate it into her performances.
      Interestingly, a young group from France, known as La Horde, is responsible for a significant portion of the show's production, wardrobe and choreography. While Madonna used to be deeply involved in conceptualizing her shows, this time it seems she contributed by preparing her appearance and learning the choreography. That's not necessarily a negative thing, but it's different from her previous approach.
      If this perspective is unsettling, I apologize. My aim is not to invalidate your admiration for Madonna, but to present a different viewpoint. Regardless, I admire the precision with which you recall details about her career. Keep it up! When the topic shifts to the Vogue segment, how did you experience the moment when she theatrically mimicked the act of receiving oral pleasure? She provocatively positioned her legs around a man's shoulders, releasing peals of laughter as she leaned her head back in an act of simulated ecstasy. Standing on the sidelines, your 11-year-old daughter in a snakeskin bodysuit, coupled with thigh-high platform boots, observed the spectacle. This scene unfolded in front of her young eyes, creating a tableau that sparked a concoction of emotions. The question begs to be asked, how did this affect you and what feelings did it stir within your heart?

      I really appreciate the support, Mr Jones!! ❤️ But, Babe... Madonna IS A Living Legend!! If you aren't happy with how the current tour is going / are feeling nervous, at LEAST!! I've seen her celebration show 6 times and it is one of her best, if not her best. I've seen all of her shows since 'Who's that Girl'. Raving reviews everywhere and you say this? It's your opinion, fair enough, but you are wrong in so many ways. Have you seen it live? Her speech is always a bit different and playful and she says some very sincere, personal and emotional things. She is showing her vulnerability in 'Live to tell' (If you don't feel this, you heart's not open.) also her singing to her Mother is so sweet. She has a lot of fun on stage also and shows some balls and power! Ofcourse everything is rehearsed and planned, it's such a big and unique production. It's like a biopic on stage almost, theatre, dance, music, storytelling, documentary, drama and more. Im not defending her and maybe I do, because she gets shit since day one and she deserves to be treated and respected like the legend she is. Love and peace for everyone.

    • @MrJ0NE5
      @MrJ0NE5 6 місяців тому +1

      @@MisterCiccone While I empathize with your perspective, I find it challenging to accept your claims, particularly if you've witnessed every performance since the era of "Who's That Girl". If that were the case, you'd understand that audience engagement was once a dynamic component of her shows. During the expect release of tickets for Who’s That Girl tour, there was near riots in the streets of France, and French President Jacques Chirac had to intercede and calm people down in the country. Can you imagine? We, the ardent fans in Seattle, were captivated by her during "The Blond Ambition Tour", as were the crowds at Toronto's SkyDome, for The Girlie Show, where her presence ignited a colossal celebration in the streets of the Gaybourhood, up and down Church street. There is no question regarding her age or her legendary status. The concern lies in the perceived decline in quality and attention to detail in her recent offerings. They appear contrived, yet lack the finesse that could make them appealing, akin to the repetitiveness of her performances in a black robe during "Like a Prayer", or "Human Nature" for the sixth time in seven tours. The backdrop of "Frozen" and the frequent recurrence of "Burning Up" over the last seven tours also seem to lack sincerity, unless viewed with a zealous lack of discernment.
      Madonna's primary objective appears to be financial gain, which might explain her struggle to fill stadiums as she once did. Her ability to attract substantial crowds, such as 80,00 people in a stadium seems to be dwindling. Now only arenas and about 12,000 fans. Historically, Madonna has been known to respond to adversity with exceptional creativity, think “The Girlie Show,” silencing critics with an outstanding project, be it a tour or an album. Think Confessions on a Dance Floor. However, her recent actions are perplexing, evidenced by the lackluster costumes and recycled wigs. The exaggerated rosy makeup, which gives the impression of constant breathlessness, is another concern. Leading to a lot of people online saying she appears very winded and she can’t sing. The reality is she’s just a tiny bit out of breath and her cheeks are so rosy red. It makes it appear like she’s exhausted and could hardly sing. How and why this is not been taken care of; I do not understand! Basic stage make up skills required. While the production quality remains high, including lighting, sound, and special effects, these are not the primary issues at hand.
      While I fully endorse the principles of peace and love, if Madonna chooses to present herself negatively and produce subpar content, that is her prerogative. This tour had the potential to be the most monumental in history, but she seems to persistently make choices that diminish her stature. It's evident that she's disengaged from the artistry, and it's questionable whether she'll ever regain her previous prominence since her focus seems to have shifted towards promoting her children and Bob the Drag Queen, which is not what we, the fans, had anticipated.
      While I have no interest in inciting disputes on Madam Roast Beef's forum, I feel compelled to express my views on the show. While the spectacle is undoubtedly grand, it lacks the depth and quality that we've come to expect from Madonna. Her four decades in the industry could have provided a treasure trove of nuanced references and 'Easter eggs' that would have enthralled the audience night after night. However, these opportunities seem to have been largely missed. This is a woman who stood as the most photographed figure of the 20th century, yet none of that rich history is visible in her current performances. The interludes are comprised of her asserting her influence on the success of artists like Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, and Taylor Swift. The suggestion that without Madonna's contributions, these artists would not exist is preposterous and detracts from the credibility of her performance.

  • @HipsterBlood
    @HipsterBlood 6 місяців тому

    Madonna totally got her facts wrong. Camille Paglia, her first and only ardent supporter at the time, never called her a bad feminist. Camille was responding to a woman who referred to Madonna as a bad feminist. Camille went on a rant about Madonna being the ultimate feminist. Unfortunately, this is one of the worst speeches I’ve ever heard her give. She’s gotten into this “I’m a victim” mentality. Madonna was never like that 30 years ago. She didn’t care what anyone thought of her and that set her apart from the rest of the pack. It’s sad to witness what she’s turned into. Madonna gave as good as she got and now wants to play the woe is me crap. Give it a rest, girl. You attacked other female performers yourself.

      Madonna gets a lot of things wrong but she said she used to hang out in San Francisco on this tour. She’s never hung out in San Francisco and she said she’s been playing the guitar in New York City for 50 years. She never played guitar till 2002 she played the drums.

      She DID care what people thought of her, she said it in this speech that after Erotica/Sex it was very difficult for her. She just was very good at not letting it show - i.e. not showing vulnerability.
