Could you do a video on tips for first year? Things like study habits how you took notes in class how you divide up ur time and esp if UW is acc as antisocial as they say, like are there any parties and if so how do u manage ur time to be able to hang out w ppl and party? It would mean a lot personally since many of the videos I’ve seen don’t answer these specific questions which are big deciding factors between the two schools I’m choosing (Western and Waterloo), thanks I hope you stay safe!

I’m going to be a freshman this year (planning to study civil engineering), and I was jus looking through vlogs about the Uni and your dorm looks BEAUTIFUL ✨👏🏾. I have a few questions, if you don’t mind answering:
1) what residence are you in? And which one do you think is the best?
2) how’s social life in Waterloo?
3) were the online classes interesting? (Probably a horrible question 💀)
4) overall, do you like the school? Or what do you think of it?

@@kaykay8262 I found the resident rather clicky. Lots of the athletic students and social development students tend to choose this residence. If you can get past this and find a couple friends you resonate with you should be fine. I made good friends with my don, Alex, because of his kindness, and maturity. The whole system for interviewing don's is rigged as well, so keep that in mind if you are an out of the box individual looking to become a don in this residence. The overall vibe of waterloo is very competitive. I came from a smaller university in my first year to transferring close to home to Waterloo and I wish I didn't do this. Everyone's experience is different, but other than meeting my husband there, I wish I had never transferred. Thought I'd be honest with you, so hope this isn't too much. The suicides and amount of people who recognize that they're just a number is a really difficult aspect of Waterloo. The teachers are competitive and have their own biases. Some are racist and others frankly don't care their students. Honestly I dont have many good things to say about the school. I hope that when you choose your school that it will be because of its character and values, a school that will know your worth and support you to become the best you and the real you. I hope your university journey uplifts you and challenges you, and that you become the best engineer you can be 🤗🌿. Hope this helps.
@@kaykay8262 I do think that Renison is the best residence to attend out of all of the university colleges and all other residents that are offered from Waterloo. You have a don on each floor that is there to help you engaged with other students and to help you if there is anything you ever need. It is also one of the most expensive residents. I was happy to recieved a scholarship for it, so if you can, those are always helpful! They probably have counseling services now (didnt when I was there), and their chefs work with students with allergies or specialty diets like veganism, vegetarian, halal etc. I was on the food committee, so if you want to be an influencing force in this, you can join it for your floor :). There are also intramural sports that you can sign up with your floor or friends if your don is into that or you keep an eye on it through the university sights. Right now all sports are off until Jan 1st 2021, so unfortunately that won't be an option until the following semester, but at least you know. Let me know if you have anymore questions 🙂
Autumn Lilly oh wow :( I already am planning to go to Waterloo and was finalizing all the visas with my family. But hearing this is, in all honesty, very disappointing and discouraging to hear. I’m not saying it’s your fault! I’m just surprised to hear the school is apparently like this. Not one positive thing :( I really hope that my experience at the school will be at least enjoyable for me. But thank you so much for the response and honesty!

Where did you get your comforter?
IKEA! I can’t remember the name of it but I mentioned it in my dorm haul video. It was around 20 bucks and I still use it to this day. Just a heads up that if u have any newly dyed clothing it might stain. I wore a black tshirt from H&M and it left some blueish discolouring (but I guess that’s more the shirt’s fault than the comforter lol)
Also the criss cross design on my bed is a separate blanket that I got from walmart
