I'm surprised that you didn't mentioned Shang Xi's Academy reputation during MoP reps. This reputation is unique in a way, that there is no way to get it to exalted (or revered). You will stop at around 8500 / 12000 rep after you leave Wandering Isle and there is nothing to increase the rep.

A small correction: Reaching (i believe exalted, might have been revered) with Ravenholt got you one of the better throwing weapons in the game as a purchasable. Not that throwing weapons were any good, but it exists.
it was the reward for turning in lockboxes. You'd get a stack of Froststeel something knives that dealt a bunch of extra frost damage and were the strongest throwing weapon available in vanilla. They nerfed them into the ground when TBC came out.
So glad you mentioned the old Wildhammer Clain rep... when I tell people about this people think its a myth. I remember I got honoured with the old rep back in Vanilla :P

My favorite title I have is the rep title "of the Shattered Sun." It's from the Shattered Sun Offensive back in Burning Crusade. Expensive to buy at the time (I got it while it was current content), but I still love it.
Fun fact, re: Alliance/Horde Faction Reps - Did you know there was an actual unlisted faction that was just called "The Alliance" and "The Horde" - you may have seen it pop up sometimes when turning in quests, but it did exist, and doing quests for your faction after making Exalted with all races increased this, albeit at a smaller rate. It was even possible to become Exalted with it, my Hunter, that I mained from TBC to mid-MoP, was actually Exalted with "The Alliance" overall.
maybe you have not noticed this back when you made this comment but it's just the over-arching rep-name for the main alliance ones. like, if you have exalted on all of them, you are close to being exalted with "the alliance" aswell despite possibly still being neutral. also - when you are - somehow - locked from getting rep, it will automatically go to alliance instead of f.e stormwind
I'll always find it strange how the Tol Barad rep gives you a skywall drake mount, most rep mounts is related to the zone or faction. Also, but doing the Fangs of the Father questline will greatly boost your ravenholdt for the majority of the questline and blacktalon rep after completing Patricide.
MoP reps were the best. It was the only expansion that made end game content enjoyable for me, as I was able to get gear from multiple means, such as reps, world bosses, pvp, currencies, etc. And the ability to change the stats of the gear also helped a lot.
You forgot to mention some rep and a pet from the legion dreamweaver : thistleleaf adventure that even has a mount when you mount up. The reps are some broken like the pandean one (the island turtle one that only pandas can level to honorable), the syndicate thats theres no way to grind pass neutral, talon's vengeance, guild rep and brawlers guild rep.
For someone who is a freshly (June 2021) graduated history major and considers himself to be a gamer as well, these kind of videos are of great value (and also very interesting)! Undoubtedly my favourite series is the "History of..." :D Please keep it up! :)
In classic, my whole mission was to make a human rogue who's entire purpose was to raise his rep with the Syndicate and camp Stromgarde. Specifically anyone who attacked the Syndicate. Being neutral also allowed me access to all the chests and herbs in their area without aggroing them. I also gained them as a sort of elite-mobbed private army who attacked everyone else except me. Some people might call it role playing. But I was never really interested in acting out a character. More like creating a unique npc-themed pvp scene for just myself to enjoy.
I don't think it was mentioned, but in Pandaria you could also use your farm to raise the reps for other Pandaria factions. Other factions could put in an order request for certain produce and you could grow it and give it to them the next day for additional rep.
You forgot to add the little mention you can go to war with "The Avowed" So far there is only one person you can attack when you toggle this option. And that Is an NPC In the Avowed's HQ that can remove curses for you
A key thing about the WoW reps was that they also gave shoulder enchants (and were the only way to get them), so you needed to be I think Friendly for the 'basic' version and Revered for the good one. So the were a 'mandatory' grind for raiders back in the day (at least one of them was for your class/spec)
That human racial is why I made my Alliance main a human to unlock the allied races faster, as you are probably aware the rep always took longer than the questlines. The Nightfallen was the exception though, I got exalted with them WAY before finishing up that questline.
Fun fact, the Hozen in MoP are the only NPC's (unlike the alliance fish people counterpart) where they show up being Horde aligned with the horde symbol, but will attack horde players on sight, marking you PvP.
Official owner of the Defender of the Timbermaw right here. Got it back in the Vanilla days not too long before the BC expansion. I loved that guy even tho he died super fast and was embarrassingly weak considering the amount of time it took to farm it.

Great video but OMG the way you pronounce certain words makes my eye twitch so hard. You also pronounce Cache two different ways during the video. 41:43 is how I normally say cache and 44:27 I guess is the proper way to pronounce "cache". Makes me wonder how often I may use different pronunciations for the same word.
I will add one thing about the Ember Court: getting an attendee to Best Friend lets you a. write them letters with the Ember Court Quill toy (and they write back) and b. removes the need to do the RSVP quest to have them attend your Court.
They still love me for the 100+ ZG runs ❤❤❤ (first raid I ever led.. I was in 7th Grade.. 😅). Thank you for these videos, can’t play again until I get starlink, so your videos hold me over. Was staring out over the Grand Canyon (Aka Thousand Needles) yesterday and all I could think was: “sure hope there aren’t any priests hiding around these ledges” 😌
A little correction, the green protodrake was 280% flying speed. The only way to fly 310% speed was having some specific mounts: ashes of al’ar, the 2 protodrakes from glory of Ulduar.raider (10-25 man mode), the gladiator flying mounts, and the violet protodrake. All the other protodrakes, the green, blue, red, lost time, even the black and plagued from the naxx raider achievement were 280%. Until the patch blizzard said “we dont want to bind you to one mount only for its speed, so if you have a 310% mount, all your other mounts can go 310% too”. And then, the next patch they went “k, we know getting a 310% mount is hard, so you just have to pay for master raiding. If you have a 310% mount already, you have master raiding already too so u dont pay nothing” (per character, back then mounts werent account wide, so if you wanted to fly 310% on an alt, you had to pay for all the riding skills). Source: painful psychological experience. I got the green protodrake from my very first egg, the problem was i didnt have the gold to buy the 280% riding, i spent weeks farming with the reins in my bag. And got the violet drake to finally fly at 310%, so i saved gold when the “pay to fly 310%” patch came out.
Getting exalted with Mirasmius for the Night Fae gives an achievement that awards you the title , a play on the word "fungi" as Mirasmius is a mushroom. Also a quick aside, I loved Mirasmius as a character. He was just an old man who felt like everyone forgot about him but got more and more cheery as you gained rep with him and unlocked the entire network. He felt like an old buddy that I got to check in on every day for his dailies and general Night Fae travel.
I'm missing the "toxic ravasaur"-fraction in Un-goro, which was added as a horde-counterpart to the Winterspring-alliance-only-mount (at least as it was still alliance only...)
The Runestags, Gargon, Phalynx and Tauralus mounts are covenant specific. So the Runestag from the Court of Night can only be purchased by a Night Fae, and the Gargon from the Avowed can only be bought by a Venthyr. And these can only be ridden by their respective covenant as well.
I probably opened a hundred of those eggs from the Oracles, back in the day. Stopped playing in Cata, never got it. Then I come back for one month when BFA launched, and I open the egg that was in my bag from whenever I last logged out in Cata... And yep, that was the egg I got the mount from. I still wonder if they added in some secret fatigue timer after Cata, because that was a crazy coincidence.
Nice video as always. I wish you would have mentioned how much of a deal the cenarion hyppogryph was for the horde. For the alliance some might have just see it as another hyppogryph, because that was the base flying mount which was a lot easier to obtain. but for horde it was the only way to obtain a hyppogryph, if you liked that fantasy. I remember back in wrath when i started playing that was one of the first rep i got to exalted.
Heads up. There was a mount added to a Paragon cache in BFA. It was the Royal Snapdragon. This would drop from the Nazjatar rep at around a 6% chance of drop. Also you didn't mention the bodyguard's that were a friendship like system in Naz either? They do offer unique rewards, being a snapdragon mount (the one from the cache being a armored variant) , a pet and a toy.
27:14 Black Prince is distinct nowadays in being the longest timegated rep in WoW, because if you never started the questline for the legendary cloak the only way you can get it is by killing 1 Timeless Isle world boss per week at 500 rep per kill.
Which one? I go to the Timeless isle at least once a week for Celestial tournament anyway and for Mogu Runes of Fate to re-roll for mounts on world bosses.. I know you still get a few quests because I never did the cloak chain, but I am quarter way to Honored.
I actually voted for this video because I like having long form videos to have on in the background when I'm working or playing WoW. So..... Thanks I guess
Things iv been trying to get for literal years. Invincible and the headless horseman mount. I wouldn't call it hard though. Just tedious and based on chance :( Maybe one day...
You forgot the Royal Snapdragon mount from the nazjatar reps paragon cache. The only mount in BFA where you need to keep grinding rep like legion to have a chance to get the mount.
You need revered to buy keys but the dungeons mentioned stop giving rep on 5999 friendly unless you run specific ones on normal (SHH,SL,SV) only the tempest keep ones give rep all above honored on normal.
Something I liked doing with the Argent Dawn rep was to get it to Friendly as soon as possible so I could buy manna biscuits from the rep vendor. Those were awesome :D
I completely forgot about turning in cloth for Horde/Alliance rep, holy crap, lol 😂 I turned in so much cloth back in the day that I probably blocked it out from my memory
I never did the Kirin Tor emissary ever. All of the world quests for it were a bit hard, and my laggy as computer then couldn't handle any of them that involved movement.
I can't believe you didn't mention! With Golden Lotus, before Garrosh messing things up, had a whole storyline and questline, and at exalted, the last questline rewarded a really decent (at the time) epic ring - and people were so piiiiiiisssssed about it, complaining since it was a good ring to have before raiding
My personal favorite title I got completely by accident. “Crusader” is given by being exalted with both the Argent Dawn and the Argent Crusade. I farmed Stratholm for WEEKS to get Rivendare’s Mount and turned in the rep items because they were filling my bags in TBC. Fast forward to Wrath and Argent Dawn is out, Argent Crusade is in.
That was quite an emotional journey. ^^ Being exalted with almost all of these I was reminded of the insane amounts of work and effort as well as time I spent in this game. MoP, WOD and Legion are so prominent in my mind that all that rep grind felt like it was just yesterday. xD But then you talked about BfA and I had to stop the video and fast forward to SL because of disgust. Seriously, BfA was just aweful in every regard. -.- Good video though. ^^ Thanks for the memories.
The Green Proto-Drake never flew at 310% speed (until they made 310% learnable, of course). You may be thinking about the Violet Proto-Drake, which was the mount from the "What A Long, Strange Trip It's Been" holiday meta achievement. That one did fly at 310% speed.
As I only really played during WotLK, there's only one thing to mention that you missed. The Death Knights have a unique mount called the Winged Steed of the Ebon Blade, which can be purchased from the Death Knight starting place for 1000g. However, the vendor is considered a member of the Knights of the Ebon Blade, so rep with them will decrease the price of the mount.
A note about WotLK reps: some of them were the only way of getting enchants for shoulder and head pieces, which Enchanters couldn't do. So, in order to join a raid, you had to have all your gear enchanted, and that required a bit of rep farming with Sons of Hodir for shoulder pieces, and Kirin Tor/Ebon Blade/Argent Crusade for head pieces, depending of your role.
Oh goodness, the Sons of Hodir... I remember them, in the mountains. Spending many, many weeks trying to find those cursed Everfrost Chips. Along with dozens of other people.

Never thought 8 years on I'd be looking back at MoP thinking 'the good old days.'
I'm missing the "toxic ravasaur"-fraction in Un-goro, which was added as a horde-counterpart to the Winterspring-alliance-only-mount (at least as it was still alliance only...)
I love farming rep, been hooked since BC. Loved the video :D
Awesome video thanks for this it’s cool to see the evolution and I’m learning bout TBC which I’m now plying.
Thanks! As a new player, I really appreciate this information. It was fascinating.
Absolutely mad man for this video, good job!
@@knighthawk3749 Any of them. The first world boss you kill each week gives 500 rep, killing more doesn't get you anything
@@HeadOfBucket Sorry, I did not realize that you were talking about the 4 celestials. Thanks.
Your videos are seriously underrated. I will be Joining next week
What a list of stuff! Thanks so much for doing this!
I think it would be super cool if you covered the lore of all the reps too - some are super cool!
Still use the Cenarion Hippogryph mount in Shadowlands. Until I watched this video, I had forgotten where it came from.
I actually voted for this video because I like having long form videos to have on in the background when I'm working or playing WoW. So..... Thanks I guess
Call the Green Proto Drake easy to obtain
I've opened my eggs everytime they're available since WOTLK and I still haven't got mine :(
Things iv been trying to get for literal years. Invincible and the headless horseman mount. I wouldn't call it hard though. Just tedious and based on chance :( Maybe one day...
I got it out of my first one
You forgot the Royal Snapdragon mount from the nazjatar reps paragon cache. The only mount in BFA where you need to keep grinding rep like legion to have a chance to get the mount.
Not sure how rare that one is, I got it on my 1st cache
@@avatarphen 1 in 19 as per Rarity, gz ;)
@@avatarphen I got it in my 2nd or 3rd. And the first 2 gave me other collectibles, so it was not a waste. 😁
You need revered to buy keys but the dungeons mentioned stop giving rep on 5999 friendly unless you run specific ones on normal (SHH,SL,SV) only the tempest keep ones give rep all above honored on normal.
Thanks. I really enjoyed this video. We appreciate your work, keep it up!
what a pleasure is watching your videos, thank you so much
Something I liked doing with the Argent Dawn rep was to get it to Friendly as soon as possible so I could buy manna biscuits from the rep vendor. Those were awesome :D
History of azure water strider - make it! cant wait
Cache is pronounced like "cash". "Ca-shay" is spelled cachet, and means something else.
English pronouciation is fked up
@@corniel657 Nah. It has no accent over the e, so you don't do the "ay" sound. Just Cash.
@@Steve_Keen caysh
once enough people mispronounce something the same way that becomes an acceptable pronunciation :D
@@corniel657 They are French words...
31:34 literally how I got WoD flying lol, bought all of the medallions I needed for rep!
I once dreamed of earning all reputations to Exalted; the main reason why I mained a human toon.
that's it my friends. Without content, we are left with stories from the past. RIP
Amazing job. Thank you for the hard work
I remember doing the Chromie one in Legion. My guild considered her our mascot so we had to save her. So worth it.
What is that addon that appears to remind you of new/unobtained items? (The shaking little star in the vendor window next to some items)
I would like to know it aswell my friend.
Iirc Vanilla faction reps gave a huge discount to mounts, much more than 20 % for Exalted
Because SL is amazing right!
I love your narration style. Have you considered also going to history of other games?
his most successful 2nd channel, The Duel Logs, makes Yugioh content, so yeah ig he has
You need to get The Ashen Verdict rep to at least Honored in ICC to start the Shadowmourne legendary axe questline.
The Green Proto-Drake never flew at 310% speed (until they made 310% learnable, of course). You may be thinking about the Violet Proto-Drake, which was the mount from the "What A Long, Strange Trip It's Been" holiday meta achievement. That one did fly at 310% speed.
Wait a minute - Kaluak are still in the game, wtf?! I farmed the rep just months ago for my 100 exalted reps.
Wait... there's a timeless isle teleport item?
The Zandalar Tribe rep is also unobtainable since cata
Extra Like because of the length.
what addon is that you have that shows the star bubble that moves in the vendor inventory? I love it!
Every time I see one of your video my will to play burst on surface even thought I'm not allowed to...
One day The Insane achievement will be mine!
