Fairly certain this was an passenger plane that was made for easy conversion to a bomber to avoid restrictions in the treaty of Versailles, which is why its durability is lacking slightly lacking....

No the lack of durability is purely because it's a bomber. Years ago because fighter pilots were so shit they took the nerf bat to bombers and made their gunners not engage till like 210m (AKA useless because fighters will snip you at 800m) instead of 1K out and turned their tails into paper mache so a burst of 50's will just blow your entire tail off.
Yep, the Condor was developed from a civilian airframe to meet the need for a more strategic bomber if I recall correctly. It was used more effectively as a naval bomber than anything else, and yes the airframe itself was notoriously fragile.

The real forgotten bomber is the MB162. This plane has very strong engine, you can stay on WEP, and rarely overheat ! (ideal for climbing) Not too bad defensive armament and payload, fun to play.
I rember using this bomber and bombing my way to 8.7
I love this plane… there’s just something about the size of it (even thought it can’t pull up for shit, or survive at all) and the fact that it’s at 2.3 just makes it even better. It’s germanys low-tier B-17 alternative and it’s so fun when used well
Edit: Also love how it’s big enough to be used as a mid-air airfield for smaller planes, really fun in air rb and ab for this reason
I don't know if it's still the case but if you removed all the upgrades and had a stock plane with the maximum bomb load, the stat card shows its maximum rate of climb as a negative number. It's still possible to fly but holy goodness is it lethargic.

That's true for a number of bombers in the game but I think it only applies at a very high altitude.
fw 200 c-1 is one of my favorite bombers, it simply looks cool

The Fw 200 is relistic mode is a beast, hard to land and taks a long time to get to 4,000 but it packs a punch
My first realistic battles game that i ever played was an air rb match with the fw 200. Because of that I still maintain a soft spot for this plane (in addition to the fact it looks cool).

I would recommend the sunderland mk 5 its about as fat as the condor but probably has the best gunner armament for a british bomber

I wish they’d cluster together like that when I got in a plane.
They nerved it in maneuverability. No sudden moves, else its wings will break. I liked it before that but they have been made quite vulnerable. Maybe more realistic.
It was basically a airliner converted into a bomber. It was mainly used for maritime patrol operations given its long range. It's bomb load is good but shit defense.
It has a bad defense because Gaijin decided to add the worst version of the fw 200.
The Fw 200 C 4 with the 20mm turret canon would be far better.
A very very beautiful plane, but too big for such small bomb load. Oh well, it was a passenger plane after all. Good to take it out for a spin trying to destroy bases, but the fighters will always climb up faster.
amazing low tier to mid tier bomber just a bit fragile on the nose can get easily pilot sniped, but the bomb load is worth the endless suffering.

To be fair, it´s a passenger plane converted into an Oceanic Patrol Plane... and we use it as a Tactical bomber... it lacked armor and guns in order to make room for the fuel for 14 hours endurance...
If the game had a mode in which you needed to fly for 6 hours before the real action could start, this plane would be a "killer" :D

That fuel load is one of the reason why this plane is so slow, 4 engines and cannot go over 400km/h.
As a Fw200 pilot in WT (I fly more than that more so) I can confirm it isn't a super bomber when you have a p400 or yak 7 behind you

High-altitude bombing is what most bombers are made for, best to stick to that so the enemies can’t really shoot you when you’re that high up…
I mean, this is essential a refitted civilian airliner, I wouldn't expect it to be very durable. And it wasn't very durable historically, having a track record of breaking its spine due to being stressed too much.
