Do folks still rappel off the left side of the falls anymore? Did that myself on a lark while camping in the area on my eighteenth birthday, many, many moons ago.
I’m a Native of Transylvania and rappelled off looking glass maybe 12 times. After stepping off the top into the rope, I remember, after 5ft you were free of the overhand and was nothing but the rope. Last time I attempted it was shut down by a park ranger. It’s probably not allowed but, you still can try, really nothing they can do.

Very beautiful waterfall and great job. Thank you for sharing your work with everyone.
Thanks so much! It was a great first visit to a popular falls. We were thankful we had it to ourselves for about 20-30 mins.
I remember camping at a spot near here all the time when I was growing up! One time, my brother caught a hellbender right next to the falls.
Crazy how different it looks after the last flood
