The troll king is my favorite norscan legendary lord. His ability to have a stack of trolls and other feral monsters in his army makes it fun to create a true monster horde.
That ending was kinda....rushed for a badass like him LOL he gets stabbed by nagash's blade of OPness and he dies....thats basicly the end of the troll king...OK MOVING ON

I dont know much about warhammer, but races in fantasy dont have to be in 40k and vice versa. Skaven dont exist in 40k, and tyranids dont exist in fantasy.
personally i like to think that total war warhammer is set in a sprat time line to the end times, in which the age of Sigmar never happened and is only the rating of made men like the rat men under the city.

I'm rather annoyed by the way Throgg is portrayed in TWW, primarily his voice which is not lore friendly. Throgg is described as having an almost human voice, and speaks as eloquently as any human. He isn't merely intelligent for a troll as he is more intelligent than most humans. Yet in game he talks with broken grammar and sounds like he's gurgling a chaos spawn. It's completely unlike his character in lore. I hate chaos as a whole because they are a bunch of boring Mary Sues, but I've always someone liked Throgg simply because he brutally killed Sigvald and then pissed on his mangled corpse.

Those things are a result of a certain lifestyle rather than intelligence we just associate those things with intelligence as some intelligent people care about those. A better version of Throgg would be to have all that intelligence but he doesn't bother with complicated words even if he understands them, doesn't bother with poetry even if he understand how it works. He could be able to communicate complex thoughts but choose only the simplest of words to convey the thought. You can outsmart individuals without mastering language, art, and other things. The end times writers may not have been up to the task of writing that well so they instead resorted to the simpler ways of making someone seem smart, by playing in the normal concepts of what we associate with intelligence rather than maintain his sense of being a monster/troll while also being smart. Obviously they could have him do more than just grunt and say the simplest of words, but they dont need to give him the skills of a nobleman. I dont see how his lifestyle as portrayed in everything you mentioned before end times indicates things that would lead him to embrace poetry, art, complicated language, and other things, he didn't exactly keep a lot of guests from other kingdoms, his guests seem to be trying to kill him. He speaks with only monsters of his realm and the random attacker. Who has be been practicing his language skills with? If they want to portray him as valuing other things it would probably be worthwhile to indicate why he would take an interest in those things rather than just give him those traits.
