Chickie (Zac Efron) wants to support his friends fighting in Vietnam, so he does something wild-personally bring them American beer. What starts as a well-meaning journey quickly changes Chickie’s life and perspective. Based on a true story.

Peter Farrelly as Director. Producers are David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger on behalf of Skydance, with Andrew Muscato and Jake Myers. The book/source material became a New York Times best seller when it was published in 2020 and generated stories of this journey across a wide spectrum of media and news programming.

He's stone sober that his 5th beer, tops 😂 glad somebody is realistic
This movie blew me away , terrific acting by Efron and crew
Zac Efron has turned out to be a very good actor.. I thought he killed it in The Iron Claw
I just finished watching the movie, and I can't believe that when I saw the movie poster, I just skipped, thinking it was not interesting... What a magnificient movie! An absolute must to watch!
Zach was spot on! The producers could not have chosen a better actor!
My first tears, were when I saw Tommy's mom before the trip, and my last tears were when I saw Tommy's mom after the trip. There was so much emotions.
I love how it started by a silly beer run, but turned into discovering the reality of the Vietnam war.
This is not a comedy like you would think befire watching the movie, but a serious war movie from the eyes of a civilian who's just trying to find his friend soldiers.
It shows how we all love our soldiers and veterans, but we all just want peace rather than war. Our leaders have such a great responsibility, and I wish that one day they stop abusing it.
In any case, this was a magnificient movie! A level that I haven't seen in a while!
Chickie, what a hero without a cap! Amazing!
1:37 I was asked “You’re from America?” when I was in Australia and my dumbass really said “Uh No Texas Actually.”
😂😂😂😂
Now I gotta watch this movie.
I went to Amsterdam when i turned 18, im finnish and in the first smoke shop i went to the cashier after looking at my id realized i was finnish and started talking about a hockey game from previous night maybe Kanada-finland and i do not know why i said i saw it when i had no clue they even played the previous night, he talked about the game for like 2 minutes becouse we were the only customers and i was embarassed i had no clue and it threw me off so much i said my own name wrong, realized he already knows it from my id, tipped a jarr filled with mixer you use instead of tobacco and it was full and it all went to the floor and all around acted like a creeper becouse it threw me off so much😂
Must be that Texas pride 😂
I just found out this is legitimately based on a true story. That’s too cool
Yeah but unfortunately the real story usually isn't as cool, still pretty awesome either way...
me too
Honestly a breath of fresh air watching this original classic
this happening in real life is insane dedication
the guy was a former marine and Korean War veteran, dedication comes with that territory
@@PrestigeLearning Once a Marine, Always a Marine
This was a great movie. Criminally under promoted and under appreciated.
Found the story online and said they have a movie based on it. Now I got to watch this!

Were the comments turned off? why are there not more comments
I just heard about this story and movie after watching a video about it from Simple History
Crazy only 36 comments w 4.7mill views and was posted a year ago anyone else seen that before?
Something very sus....only 10 comments????? This shits epiccccc
lmao for the boys!
This is insane! All over a beer!
I'm not a drinker. And I've tried many of the beers out in our world to see what all the craze is about. And I just can't get it!
The bitter aftertaste throws me off every time and I waste the bottles, mugs, cans (them rescued by my kindhearted buddies of course 😂).
I've seen so much pain and needless destruction of lives around me throughout my life just because of fokhhhin alcohol 😅
Looks like I need to search a bit more 😅
Corona Light and Bira White (in india) seem okay! But I'm not going to vietnam over an Okay drink 🤔
My poison of choice would be a 300ML bottle of Thumbs Up (an old soda owned by coca cola now). Or a Cali Shandy (a pineapple drink by San Miguel beer in the Philippines).
0:24
This could be Tropic Thunder 2
Thank god. No more super hero movies. 😊 just regular joes with unique stories
4.8 million views and onky 50 comments? Unreal 😂
no comments hehe
This sounds more like a Boston accent than a New York one
Nice gesture but bring better beer than a pbr mate
😂😂😂😂😂
These guys all look like they know what iphones are
Fu*k i'm going to watch this right now😂😂😂
Indian but i kinda like it
No wonder they lost the war
I'm pretty sure the boys could get all the beer they wanted in Nam. The basis of this movie sounds weird.
Yes, but this was local beer from the neighborhood and neighbors they grew up with. It was actually about the show of support and respect than just a beer.
Point missed.
he wanted to show them that their neighbourhood supported them and thought of them and brought some local beer while doing it
When America was America
How a Civilian got into a Warzone easily???😂
You'd be surprised how far a mustache can get you.
He was a merchant marine and got a place on a boat delivering ammunition to vietnam
And a lot of soldier just assumed he worked for the cia beacause of his civilian clothing
Sponsored by pbr?
he brings 20-30 beers tops, maybe in a duffle bag? that would be gone by the time he went to the first location. or even by the time he landed... makes no sense.
Wow this movie blows!
Good movie the only thing i dont like is the hippie "pacifist" message at the end of it. Communists were the bad guys not american soldiers defending the liberty of this people.
Sure buddy, we were definitely fighting communism
@@Tourettes42069 Look at Vietnam now, look at what happened after America left in Cambodia were there was a genocide. Those dumb protests just prolonged the Cold War and left the lives of millions of people in chains.
bad acting, even worse costumes, huge insult to the cause
Dumb
Beer does a man good....woman and war....not so much. 🤷 cant be divided alone either.
Leave no can behind.
I’m so sorry that I didn’t see this movie when it was in the movie theater. It seems like a blast! 😊
