Catapult Falls on-ride 5K @60fps SeaWorld San Antonio

- This world’s first launched flume coaster features a vertical lift elevator that transports riders 55 feet (16.75 m) above the theme park before they come barreling down the steepest flume ride drop in the world. Angled at 53°, the elevator drop chutes riders into a watery splashdown at over 37 mph (59.5 km/h).

It's a shame that the splashdown is disappointing and the majority of it is a slow trundle through minimal scenery. But, the launch does look like a really interesting concept for future designs
The slow trundle is now the standard on any modern flume, sadly.
The first one looks fine
Yeah, I wish they didn’t put trims through the whole length of the drop.
@@hypnobearcoup2505I believe it was a problem with the weight of the boat which is why they were added, back before the ride officially opened and only select people could ride the ride went a lot faster down the hills, but I think they didn’t tone it down too much
The original flume ride that was apparently torn down at some point was a lot of fun. If this is the replacement, it's not even close.
I rode that actually in 2008! It closed not that long after and was partially SBNO for forever. It looks like this new one(finally) took its place? Hope they removed all the bits of Texas Splashdown, at last.
I don’t remember it too much, but do remember I enjoyed it.
It looks amazing, but it is just TRIMMED to DEATH on that last hill before the final splashdown
Not for the Bags, Backpacks, and Purses crowd.
lol
Can’t take it on the ride and can’t leave it in the station. Locker $$$$$$
Correction: not for the "I need the kitchen sink" crowd.
Remember when you used to get soaked on rides? Seems like all the new water rides the water goes everywhere except in the boat an on the riders.
You clearly haven’t seen Aquaman at Over Texas.
Clearly
Over at texas*@@TheC0asterCraze
The launch has decent pull and they appear to be able to control the size of the splashdown. I got far wetter riding on a 75° day than I did on a 50° day.
Probably, like aquaman they control how much water rises
😂
Looks like there are mag brakes on the drop, they can probably open or close them to control splash size
Looks like Mack slow launches 😊
What a friggin awesome ride!
Wow look how clear that water is
For now, since it's new, lol
@@SkateClipsAndTips 😂😂
@@Zuuu40 check back in a year or two, lol
Don't be surprised if this becomes maintenance hell
Why is nobody commenting on the fact that an annoyed employee is yelling over the station PA system? lmao
For some reason it goes out to the ride track?
Yeah, that does not make the ride more enjoyable.
Probably forgot to change the channel he was on
Its all on 1 channel
The idea is fantastic but the execution could've been a lot better. It feels incredibly flat for a log-ride.
Just another prototype to showcase rather than go all out on
Holy crap - enough about the bags! Interesting belt-launch - I wonder how often those need to be replaced. Was hoping for some sort of LSM launcher!
Electromagnets and water would be a shitty combo
His parents were killed by a backpack.
This is going to look cool once the trees grow
Such a missed opportunity for Sea World to theme the hell out of this ride. I’m crossing my fingers that future models will be bigger and better; SFMM new project…fingers crossed 🤞
What an good video an how did u film it
Nothing like a super slow slog through unthemed chutes whilst baking in the San Antonio heat to get people excited. WTF was Sea World thinking?
We have this great idea for water ridee. lets go to walmart for some tents and chairs - thats our theming. We will add a launch feature but will have it only go up over like 5ft hill then drop in the water with no force... heres the payoff lets create a large hill to drop down but add breaks at the end so no one gets wet.... it will be a blast!
FLUME COASTER!!!!!!!!!!!
This looks like a ride I would make in RCT (no theming, foliage, shade).
Trim brakes on a water ride. Absurd.
takes ages to come to the launch, shipping trough poor scenery. and what a poor final splash. Fail of the year
I’m laughing most at the fact the operator mic can he heard everywhere through the ride.
I went in that one 😂 i was scared
How wet do you get on this ride?
Go in the final row
Aqua Blue
First drop bigger then the final drop
CATAPULT FALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The real question is how is this not considered a credit while JTA at this park is
I personally wouldn't count that as a credit either.
Q&A question
How are you not scared of roller coasters
Hi there! Fun fact: several members of the CoasterForce used to be terrified of roller coasters. The way we all got over our fears is just by riding coasters and watching POVs. There is no one way to get over a fear of coasters, and it's okay if you never do. Just start small and work your way up! - Jack
Tysm jack btw I’m a huge fan and you were able to help me go on pipeline bc of ur pov
took ‘em long enough to open the thing…
I was expecting more catapulting…🫤
I was expecting a big splash at end. ☹️
It’s an Intamin ride. They don’t have the “Big Splash” concept in mind when they design these. Surprised they are doing that elevator lift system, it has failed in other rides they built and not a good system
They trimmed the drop to death so it ended up lame.
With the way that announcement was made so frequentely I realised bag policy in USA parks is so awful. Plus the lockers are such a scam. I guess it's a liability thing with how lawsuits work in the USA, but I bet if this ride was in Europe you'd have been able to take your bag on the ride.
It’s not US. It is purely SeaWorlds trash policy. They force you to buy a locker. Even at the Busch parks as well. I hate it.
Bibberburg in Familypark austria is the exact same ridetype with the same boats and doesn't allow bags either. But they have free lockers before you enter the queue.
What a colossal waste of money. SNOOZE FEST.

Launch sucks, splashdown sucks, the only thing that doesn't is the hot workers at the park
Disneyland California Magic Kingdom Florida Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Opens In Summer Fall 2024
What a boring ride
What a dissapoiting ride
Lame log flume. Lame splash down. And I'm a fan of the elevator lifts on water rides either. The launch is dope though. But how you gonna build a 5 mph ride with not a single thing to look at? Not even flowers or somethint
Very disappointing. Water ride PLEASE
Thats the most boring log ride I ever seen.
The ride is lame
lame launch gimmick, boring slow water for most of the ride, cheap scenery, corny music, worker being forced to talk about the scam bag policy that for some reason is heard on the ride??? overall just really overhyped and mediocre.
Seems strange to have this boring ride, along with the other similar Looney Tunes ride that is just as boring.
Sea World parks have gone way downhill since an investor group took over. These parks will suffer the same fate as Six Flags, unfortunately.
The concept of this ride is cool but no theming and a sad splashdown. It seems SeaWorld hasn’t had the budget it needs to compete with other theme parks especially at this one. Orlando will probably always be the best SeaWorld.
Boring AF
