IOW is one of our favourite holiday destinations but we normally stay in Cowes on the seafront in an apartment with a solent view. We have friends on the island in Brightstone, nice place to visit with a great pub if your ever out and about that way. Found your channel by accident and enjoy the topics and places you cover. Passes the time when I'm not playing golf...

Roy you are doing well on your own. It is nice to have people like you showing us the Isle of Wight because for me its been since August 1957 when I left with my family to Australia. Hopefully I will be able to visit the island and maybe parts of the mainland.

Loved this seeing the Isle of Wight once again.
I've been twice with the first one back in 1984 in my Brother's first car, his Fiat 850 of which we went across the same Ferry crossing you did.
The second time I went down with a friend on a National Express coach to Southsea where we then got the fast Hovercraft across to Ryde then a taxi to Chale Green where I stopped previously with my Brother at a Guest House.
The next day we went back to Ryde to hire a car of which we only wanted a Ford Fiesta to get us about but we had to have their last remaining car of which was a Ford Sierra Estate.
When I went with Clive, Mum & Dad were also there staying at Sandown of which they got there with the old National Holidays that was owned by the National Bus Company that the Midland Red was part of.
Their Southern Vectis bus and coach company came up to Birmingham Digbeth Coach Station to pick them up in a coach in National Holidays white.
It was a Plaxton bodied Leyland Leopard but looking at the two coaches you have gone on recently with them both being a Mercedes Benz Tourismo, the vehicles have certainly improved and that model I know a few of my coach driving friends rate them very much.
I will look forward to part 2.

My old bugbear the single person supplement. No logic when your only getting a single room. Your not taking a up a extra bed so the hotel aren’t losing anything.

Basic accommodation to say the least! Wouldn’t pay much for that class of so called hotel, even immigrants are getting better.
What do you mean ferry ? Omg I'm scared me I'm looking too book this with Caledonian travel in 2024 this why I come on here check as I'm an absolute shit bag travelling with my daughter who as additional needs and I'm alone so little bit anxious I've just got back from a 3days tximas break in Blackpool and Liverpool break first time I've been out in Xmas.
