I can imagine that hanging around with Aquaman would be awesome.
Isn’t aquaman like at least a 100 tonner?
Well, it is one thing to lift something than it is to pull it out. The penny was stuck. Aquaman could have tried to get it out. But likely end up causing more damage to the penny. Plus, maybe triggering another quake inside the cave.
Way more. He's lifted meteors, punched out Superman, and literally caught and arm-wrestled an attack that was going to destroy all of Atlantis. Not the city, the _continent_ .
But DC also has written the Flash being shot by bullets, so who even knows
well yeah, but the force required to take out the penny without damaging it, damaging the cave, or causing another earthquake might be more than that.. sure, Aquaman is super strong, but he still can't catch a falling airplane without killing some of the passengers inside it.
I appreciate Aquaman calling him out gently at the end of it. Like "Look, I don't NEED a reason to hang out. If you do...well look just lemme know and I'll bring something we can both snark on"

There is a side story/slice of life story where Kyle Rayner (during his stint as GL for the reformed Justice League) showed up and Dick was there as Nightwing instead of Bruce. They had a talk and bonded while using the supercomputer's huge ass monitor to watch a football game while sitting on ultra comfortable chairs Kyle created lol. Alfred came down to check on Dick...saw this, greeted Kyle and asked if they needed anything. While walking back up the stairs you get to see Alfred smirking to himself. Was in the late 90's era.
I’d expect him to call on Clark but Aquaman?! Not what I would of guessed but I love that
To be fair, Clark has a day job, it’s night, and Atlantis’ location changes based on the writer, but is usually other side of the world. He picked someone who
A. Doesn’t need to deal with too many daily threats, the threats he personally deals with are the ones too big for his guards
B. Is likely bored, most versions of Arthur aren’t fans of the actual bureaucracy of being king of Atlantis
And C. Reasonably fits the excuse environment
Iirc Clark was handling something in metropolis not big enough to warrant batman going to help and not small enough he could swing by right after.

I think Batman does things as Bruce Wayne like spend money on women and fast cars when he’s bored. Also training and hanging with Alfred.
That's more of a womanizing playboy facade so that others don't suspect that Bruce is Batman. In reality, Bruce doesn't like spending money on women he doesn't even know, much less buying things he doesn't need. And in this story Alfred had left the mansion to help Tim, so Bruce was alone in the mansion.
This story is so fucking cute omg

Batman’s the weird quiet kid of Justice League. He’s smart and intelligent, but his social skills are shit and he’s always super standoffish but I can’t help but love him for it.
