I'm 49 years old and a fan of nearly all the bands you discussed here on SoT. I have two Pallbearer on vinyl and one on CD. I'm a fan of the band Earthless and watched that video earlier today. Your content has helped me to deep dive into the '70s bands that I overlooked before I was a teenager. I'm here for it all!
Super pleased to see you giving love to so many 21st century bands lately. Just watched last year's Wo Fat rundown a few days ago, Khemmis, Earthless, now this. Great work! Hope to see more on faves like Elder, Ufomammut, Pale Divine, Magic Circle, Motorpsycho, Graveyard, Truckfighters . . .
We did Graveyard about a year ago.
@@Jamie.Laszlo Thanks, I'll watch it today! Wonder if they have another one in the pipeline. Elder has album #6 coming later this year, no date set yet.
I’m not a doom metal fan,but I’ll give them a listen. Never hurts to learn something new.
First saw Pallbearer open for Baroness back in '16. They were touring Foundations. They opened with "Worlds Apart" and I was hooked after the first three notes. Seen 'em three times so far and can't wait for them to come back!
Every Pallbearer album rules. One of my favorite Doom Metal bands
4: Foundations of Burden
3: Forgotten Days
2: Heartless
1: Sorrow and Extinction
I love these ranking the album shows. I’ve got thousands of cds, vinyl etc but every now and then you’ll talk about a band I’ve never heard of. Even though it kills my bank account and I get “THE LOOK” from my wife I enjoy shows like this. Thanks for the great content Pete. SOT IS THE BEST CHANNEL ON UA-cam
Hey Pete. Do you plan on ranking the albums by Anathema?
they are on the long list to do...
Swedish band Sorcerer and the album The Crowning of the Fire King is an awsome doom gem.
Not familiar with this group at all but thank you, Jamie and Pete, for taking time to review this catalogue. Will be listening to Heartless and Forgotten Days during the coming weeks to hear some of this band and see where that leads. For those who do watch these album ranking videos and the weekly new product shows, many thanks for these episodes even if the viewership is low. Came to SoT at the beginning of the pandemic looking for an interesting channel to bring new or new 'old' music to my attention. And even if not all the music recommended appeals to me, it always expands my horizons. So thanks again, Jamie and Pete.
I will have to check them out.
Peter and Jamie, do you own and listen to the band Thou? Weedeater? Bongzilla?
One of my favourite bands and so underrated.
I’m more of a fan of their raw stuff, I would definitely rank in chronological order 1 to 4. Great band, their latest didn’t speak to me though.
You need to review Oranssi Pazuzu, superb Finland psychedelic, stoner, space black metal band
Thanks guys for this new bands videos! I'm hungry for new music and love the ranking excercise. Please make a truckfighters, elder, all them witches, sufjan stevens, the church of the crystal skull or king gizzard and the wizard lizard that already have a bounch of albums and a couple of years
Don't forget High on Fire 🔥
Great band. Looking forward to this, will you rank or do you like the band insomnium?
I knew this had to be coming after that Khemmis ranking. I was fortunate to see them at their first show after the plague and they were absolutely on fire.
I love this band! I don’t have the debut, but the 3 others are amazing! Forgotten Days is actually my favorite.
I only have Foundations of Burden. Have been meaning to revisit it.
They are great
I'm definitely open to new bands. My problem is when Pete says it's instrumental. Saved a lot of albums on spotify to listen to after the show on doom metal.
I think PALLBEARER and KHEMMIS are very influenced by a band called WHILE HEAVENS WEPT
These guys scratch an itch that few other bands do.
All right then, you've convinced me. I'll put them on the list.
[Edit] I just bought Heartless, it's good.
I remember really loving the first Pallbearer album, but I remember the follow up not really clicking with me, so I kind of forgot about them. I should go back and check out their rest of their catalog. I saw them play a gig shortly before the second album came out and I was thoroughly unimpressed with their live vocal performance. The vocal range was far lower than what I heard on the album, though I'm guessing Brett's voice was shredded by that point in the tour, as they were still a relatively new band and perhaps Brett hadn't trained his voice enough at that point.
👍😜🤘
Great show. I only own their last two albums, whcih might be best according to you two. Immediatelty ordered my ticket for when they play Holland on 11 August which again according to you is poor timing.
I can't believe both of you picked Sorrow and Extinction last! I prefer my doom raw and gritty. Bone crushing heavy album. Gotta be my number one.
It's a great album...I think we just like the others a tiny bit more. All are killer!
@@seaoftranquilityprog Definitely a high quality band. I'm thrilled with the doom theme tonight!👍
