Mace pretty much ran the day to day more or less any way, plus he legit defeated palpatine he definitely would have been a powerful Grand master. Mace is one of my favorite characters him and Obi Wan and Yoda as well, Mace not only had Vaapad and mastered it but had an extremely rare and OP force ability in Shatterpoint, I remember in the clone wars series theirs this scene were all these droids surrounded him like thousands of them and with the force alone he destroyed everyone of them in one big force blast it was awesome like the dude was so powerful in force it makes sense he defeated palpatine essentially *edit* also he absolutely wrecked grievous crushed his lungs with the force ya Mace was a beast
Palpatine let Mace win. He had him early in the fight yet chose to keep on fighting.

@@CorbCorbin yup, thanks bro for the assist ya I remember also that George Lucas said out rite that Mace won the fight in the revenge of the sith Novelization it said that from Anakin's point of view that their Light saber duel was literally so fast that it looked like a blur of purple and red just insanely fast, I wish In the movie they showed that how the Novel described it what of looked cool on screen

I like how complex Windu has since really watching and understanding these videos and the series again.

Mace gets way too much flak imo. He only really has one real flaw as a Jedi - it was his inability to let go of his attachment. To the Republic. He loved it too much and couldn't see how warped it had became. And that attachment to the Republic is what blinded him to it's failings. That's the whole thing, when you try to force your will on the Force to make what you want happen - protect the Republic forever - then the thing you fear is what will happen. But if you trust the Force, let go and let it guide you, you succeed. Mace tries to use the Force to protect the Republic instead of seeing the state of the Galaxy and accepting that change was needed. Thus the Republic fell.

Mace Windu was flawed but I still like him as a Jedi.
Why not Mace Windu? Is second only to Yoda, his right hand man. And also. Master of the Order, which again is second only to Yoda. Grandmaster.
Off topic but Windu was the most ideal person to train anakin. He was the only person equipped to instill a level of self discipline and mastery anakin did not have. He would have pushed him to overcome his demons instead of fueling his ego. By ROS anakin was consumed with fear while Windu was a master of it. Windu had his flaws especially when you compare him to someone like Qui Qon who embodies the ideal Jedi in every way but he was that one person who had the ability to bring the best out of Anakin though they would bump heads early on A LOT. Training under Obi Wan was like training under a big brother…a brother he himself thought he was better than as a grew older. Windu would have cooled that ego through discipline. Another Jedi like this but times 10 is Anya Kuro. The most strict Jedi master ever who had a devotion to the force comparable to Qui Gon and who fought Vader and held her own. She pushed students like she was David Goggins
Oh Anakin would have hated Mace most of the time, but as he grew he'd understand. Mace was that dad/uncle you didn't mess with, bc he'd whoop you lol, and Anakin needed a spanking here and there lol 😆 but Mace would definitely have installed very strict structure in Anakins life. Obi-Wan was like a big brother, Mace would have been more of a parent.
Windu was the worst person because he resented young Anakin and didn't trust him. So he was ideally the best Jedi and the symbol of their downfall
@@Tuturial464you’re correct. He’s symbolized everything wrong with the Jedi at that time. I agree he was rigid and was in love with the republic over the force…however as a warrior his resistance to the dark side, skill with a lightsaber, and self discipline is legendary. I imagine Windu would see a lot of himself…his younger self in Anakin. Extremely talented, reckless, and arrogant. However, through battle and war I’d imagine they would grow a respect for eachother and the skills anakin would gain would have resisted the lures to the dark side he wrestled with. By ROS the book sad Anakin was consumed with fear. He was bold in battle and skilled with a saber but anakin inner demons owned him completely and utterly

Yoda was an outdated fossil who didn't change the Jedi and still imposed that in Episode 5.
What many people don't realize is that mace windu also had a secret attachment and a secret love. And that secret love was to the republic. Would love to hear your thoughts on that.
That and the keepers of the peace was kind of a lie (in a Star Wars read club video), seems the jedi adapted to make it protectors of civilization, that civilization being only the republic
The reason of this probably is because the Republic was perfect. The jedi provided a utopia that all Republic citizens can happily live, for 1000 years, most of the galaxy and the republic didn't engaged a single war, constant and stable peace, prosperity, which caused arrogance among the senators.
@@MasterJade perfect on paper only, they thought it was too big to fail but in reality it was to cumbersome to function well. If it was perfect then why were the hutt cartel a powerful enough influence to break republic laws right in their faces. They assumed quiet was peace, out of sight out of mind mindset set. Even dooku recognized that the jedi grew complacent with republic corruption. Willing to help the slavers rarely the slaves.
@@Spartan3D213 Labyrinth of Evil Novel, Yoda says an interesting line. "Warriors we always have been." Implying that the Jedi knew how to throw down when necessary.
@@MasterJade There were conflicts, just not on the scale of galactic war. Plagueis Novel had a war going on against the Jedi in the early days of Palpatine's training as a Sith.

I feel like anakin should have had training with multiple masters since the beginning, not only is anakin the chosen one but he also joined the order much later than others. I feel as tho Mace and kenobi should’ve shared him as an apprentice. Mace could have played the father figure anakin never had, prior to anakin many believed mace was the chosen one and he also knew his family like anakin did. While kenobi should’ve always been more of Anakins friend than playing fake parent.

How did Mace view the shatter point when confronting Dooku and holding his lightsaber to Jango? Mace would've seen how Anakin was performing in the Clone wars - did he feel he needed to keep a closer eye on Anakin? Did he suspect he was enjoying the combat, too much for a Jedi? Did Mace sense Anakin slaying the tuskens?
I completely agree. Mace was enamored with the Republic. He protected people through it. It wasn't Windu's fault he didn't kill Dooku. Yoda and Windu were completely equal in the Jedi Council. I think Windu deserved to be Grandmaster. I understand why he remained on the battle. To protect the people and the Republic. May the Force be with you too😊
