- Ex-nurse Amy Gallagher slams the NHS' decision to remove five nurses from their changing room after complaining about a transgender colleague.
The Darlington Memorial Hospital workers launched legal action in June for alleged sexual harassment against County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust.
Amy says: "Trans rights trample on women's rights, it's absolutely outrageous women are being forced to change in front of men!"

Forcing those nurse's to change in an unsanitary environment, would be a health violation against management of health care.

Here's the truth. My guess is that if a Muslim female nurse worked at this hospital, and if she wanted to use the changing facilities, then the trans woman would not be allowed anywhere near the changing facilities.

I'm not sure how to feel about it. I have never seen a trans woman in a toilet or in a changing room. But if the concern is people being sexually attracted to the ladies who are changing then the lesbians enter the chat, don't they? You could have a trans woman who isn't attracted to women but is visibly trans who could not care less about them and a born woman lesbian who will be looking at those ladies with very different eyes 😂. As I said I'm really not sure how to feel because I personally never experienced it.

Imagine being so selfish and entitled that you would be okay with forcing out five women from a women's locker room so you yourself can be in there.... I would feel absolutely horrible doing that to people... and it begs the question of why can't he just use the single room instead of all five women and they could continue to use the women's locker room as they should? I have no doubt that this is meant to cause people to get upset and angry and to cause division the controllers love causing division lest we unite and turn on them as we should because literally all of the world's problems stem from the 1%....

If there are any Muslim nurses in this hospital, then their menfolk should be encouraged to complain about this, surely it adversely affects the modesty of Muslim women.
Let’s not do that, because again, it becomes less about the problem and then more about a certain demographic, it’d be a battle between transphobia and islamaphobia, both of which don’t exist, hoping for that is a slippery slope. This is more about what is right for these and every other woman.

Transwomen are not more important than biological women. Tolerance is a 2-way street. You want respect for your way of life then respect others lifestyle choices. l would be interested to speak to the transwoman nurse and see what they think about making other nurses feel uncomfortable. There has to be a discussion about this. Transwomen that are transitioning but still have male anatomy must realize that this is confronting and triggering for some women. That in my opinion is the problem. We have 5 female nurses that feel uncomfortable, but the one transwoman and the NHS appears to be more concerned with their rights without any care, compassion or tolerance for the other nurses. I just wish that transwomen could accept that by putting their rights above biological women's that resentment, confusion and hurt follow. The NHS to solve this problem should redesign all the change rooms so that each cubicle is totally private. There must be a way to make everyone feel comfortable. At the moment the rights of a few are more important than the many and its not right.
I keep saying the same thing about toilets and changing rooms that they should be single rooms like the toilets in a lot of places in London.

Toilets and changing rooms should be single rooms like the toilets in a lot of places in London. It's time we modernised those facilities. A lot if people don't want to undress in front of the same sex.
