      actually the reason why he had to remove it is because he was doing a mixed random pattern and you can't have a seam for more than four or five blocks an expert does it with no more than four but most are three...
      He's removing the square and the Twinkie to install a loaf. Thus breaking the lines.

    I know a guy that tried to remove a brick without proper tools. It exploded and he had to have his arm reattached. Do not try this without a ez brick lifter

      There is no dangerous way. You take a couple screwdrivers and you just step it up centimeter by centimeter. If you're an idiot you can pinch a finger....and if you've been working with those bricks all day your skin is probably pretty thin.
      But really if he needs that tool he's not a landscaper.

    That might be actually handy for those really big rectangle blocks. They're hard to remove even with help as the surrounding don't give way easily.
    I've seen corners knocked out trying to make access for a pry.
    Then you just fill in the hole.

      Not unless you’re contractor is an idiot. They have 8” of laser leveled compacted crushed stone under them and polymeric sand and sealer prevents weeds in the cracks for the better part of a decade.

      @@goodoljr1 Yes, I agree the work is being done much better here. But in Virginia, we have an abundance of inexperienced contractors. Paver decks cost less than masonry with a 4" concrete base. So we get a ton of budget contractors doing this sloppy. Don't use polymeric sand around a pool. In a heavy rain, the sand unlocks, spills in the pool, then dries up hard again until the next storm. I don't dislike any of the products. It just doesn't perform well in all settings. We have lots of clowns here who promise cheap work, then deliver poor quality. By the time the customer knows what is happening, the contractor has his check. Best wishes on your projects.

    To make this safer and faster you should add locking wheels, a steering wheel, that can be used to push this into place AND spin the screw and an electric motor to do it automatically OR you just need to buy a Tesla.

    How about get a scraper , clean up the joint and get a thin wire on both corners, and start pulling up slowly, if you are patient enough string will work also😉

    There are faster ways. There are tools (probably cheaper) where u can clamp the stone and pry it out. It’s faster and simpler.
