Earth Titan it’s a fun one.. but when I did it last year it was cloudy.. the weather this weekend is supposed to be perfect so I’m definitely hoping to get views ...
stumbled upon your channel a few days ago............literally watched half of all your videos. KEEP DOING WHAT YOURE DOING BUDDY.....YOU ARE MY INSPIRATION! ill try to do as many of the hikes you've done on the island.
Beautiful video. It’s interesting how the snow on the mountain sometimes looks like looking thru the mountain creating really unique looking shapes. I love it!
@@scottwilson8258 in assuming theyll be there still. It's amazing. Hike to camp 2 and stay the night. Day hike up the the small glacier lake thats where the ice caves will be.
Stunning vista's! And excellent videography! Question, what sort of hoops did you need to jump through to get permission for drone flight?..I've heard it's getting ridiculous. Cheers
thanks, this was filmed a while ago when the mavic mini was new and legally classified as a toy and not a drone. I do everything by the law and this was filmed legally back then whether people argue about it or not. A few months after I filmed this transport canada reclassified the aerial toys as micro drones thus making them not permitted to take off or land in provincial parks.
I think this video deserves more views. I think if you added a little bit of commentary to your videos it would go a long way. Meaning: people like useful information, or being told a story. If you just imagine the questions you would ask yourself if you were watching this video without experiencing it, I think it would go a long way. personally, I would write a list of all the questions I asked myself before embarking on the trip and try to address those during the video. I could be totally wrong, I can just tell you put a lot of effort into this and it's actually quite good.
I appreciate the feedback Dan, I used to do the commentary but turns out most of the people who watch the videos are people looking for relaxing nature content, looking to destress for the day. Since the hikes on the island are pretty much unknown around the world the visuals speak volumes trail tips make people stop the video. For this reason I've been adding trail tips at the end, which I may or may not continue.. not sure yet.
@@IdRatherBeHiking yeah, I don't know what I'm talking about to be fair. I did notice that after watching some more of your earlier uploads. I should probably just express that I believe your videos are underrated.
This is so in my bucket list!! Most definitely next year..! I never realized how close the mountain face is to you as you are shooting the clip. May I ask what lens you were using? Seems like someone would most definitely need a super wide lens ( like 12mm or 18mm), to capture everything.. Great video nonetheless and great tips at the end. Thanks for sharing this!
Can you recommend some winter hikes on the island? i live in Tofino and a lot of local stuff for me is owned and shut by first nations so no vargas or meares island
Ya I really want to go up lone cone. Right now you can do Mount ozzard up the mountain bike trail which is on trail forks app. Mackenzie peak is close by the climbers trail, haven't done that one myself yet. Louise Goetting lake is also close by which I have a video on, Spire lake is just down the road too I have a video on that one as well... here:ua-cam.com/video/258JiGzjWdY/v-deo.html
Lol this comment is so funny because this is 3 hours from my house on Vancouver Island. Google Landslide Lake Vancouver Island my friend, you'll see you're wrong.
Which hike should be next?
Don’t know about your next hike but I’m heading to Albert Edward this Saturday.
Comox glacier ;)

Absalutely beautiful hike! Ty for sharing it!
Enjoyed watching, thanks for sharing
Wow man this is amazing. Love when you let nature speak for itself. Kraig would be proud 🤣
This hike is so dynamic the first 3/4 of it is really boring to hike then it just becomes so incredible. Glad you enjoyed it.
Incredible video! I didn't even know this was on the island. The music is so calming!
Going up here in a couple weeks for the second time. Can't wait!
how'd it go?

Great video. How bad are the bugs this time of year?
Just get a campsite away from the river and they aren't bad

Jesus Christ, that backpack bigger than you😄 How much did it weigh?
Great video!
ya it weighed enough, more than enough. I always have 10lbs+ of camera gear

Hi Kraig, great video and amazing work. Which month did you hike it? I am planning early June. How long would it take to berg lake and back?
It really depends on how fast you move, it was around 24km and more than 1000m of elevation gain
awesome! how long was the hike?
21km return split over 2 days.
Is it feasible to do this trail in and out in a day, when the days are long in late June/early July? Thanks.
sure is, it is quite a long day but at least you won't be carrying all your sleeping gear. Start at 5:30.. 6am and bring a headlamp
Do you recommend base 1 or 2 for the camping?
Camp 2 is much better

I mean Berg lake.
@@tb9041 technically there is a Berg Lake and Landslide lake not on Vancouver Island but my video isn't about those
