Gentlemen, Great content & insights!!
Keep up the good work.
Thank you!
Dont know a ton about this game, but you guys got me interested, thanks guys!
No thank you! Check it out it’s a very beginner friendly miniatures game but still with depth that makes it fun for more advanced players!
Nice video, I think im going to go with them. I am a noob, playing with my friends I havent seen in years but I feel like I am screwed lol One is running the Targaryens and the other is going to do Neutrals but Bolton heavy.
Love it guys
Thank you!
Nice, I really love this game and this faction.
Really thorough and honest analysis of the faction. I’ve been playing Baratheon since release, and it’s my only faction, but only because I simp for Stannis. That said, I don’t think they’re a particularly fun or interesting faction mechanically.
A couple interesting units (in the current iteration) and as you pointed out, quality NCUs, but the commanders and attachments are lacking imo, especially the named attachments. Some of them have been neglected for *awhile* now. Like, Devan, Axell, Bryen, Dale, Andrew. How often do you see them on the table?
Davos is probably the best named attachment given the lack of Stannis healing options, but it competes with his NCU and those options overshadow his Commander by *a lot*. In order for his commander to see more play, he needs to get way better, then you might actually see Dale more often. I think changing his swapped out card from Final Strike to Sustained Assault would be a start.
I think that’s a great objective view of the faction in general. Totally agree, I get it they’re not *supposed* to be anything flashy and cute give the people a little something it is a game after all! Lol
@@rollemifyougottemI’m convinced that the game designers never settled on a solid design theory for the faction. It feels like they couldn’t agree on their actual theme. I think the decision to make two factions in one with the split-loyalty mechanic was a mistake, and the Baratheons have suffered for it for years. Not everyone remembers that for a couple *years* Baratheon players were far better off choosing Neutral units in their armies because their own units were so weak. It’s only in the last couple seasons that this was finally rectified. They’re in a better place now than they’ve ever been balance/performance wise, but with the move towards a more homogenous set of unit profiles, special rules, and card titles, they’re also more soulless than they’ve ever been. Just my 2 cents.
Uuhhhggg. The old stannis bastards girls 🙄🙄🙄 those were dark days for sure.
Fiery Resolve should be used on Axelll's unit. He has Intimidating Presence which will make the panic test more punishing. If you are running S&S and are influencing Axell with them then that will trigger a wound if he passes(he gives +2 morale so likelihood of passing is high). But that's just gravy. Now if the enemy fails that panic test (at -5 +1 wound optimally{3 ranks, IP, Pile}) you do 2-4 wounds and make them panicked before you attack or retreat. This can set them up for another punishing panic test through either the attack that you can pump a full power Ours is the Fury into or set the enemy up for a devastating Melisandre bomb.
It won’t be TOO soon but we will have a video in the nearish future where we revisit this comment 😎😉
Thanks for checking out the vid!
As a new player just looking to get started with the game, this was tremendously helpful! Is the Baratheon Starter set still a good entry to the army and what would you suggest as a next purchase to build off of it?
Baratheon are a lot of fun! Light bringers are a good first unit, otherwise heroes 1 or 2 depending which loyalty you want to lean into
Thats how I got in and it worked great for me. Tought generally useful units and some tricks with the sentinels
The King's and Queen's Men's abilities work while the opponent DOES NOT the crown. So they are permanently disadvantaged against Jeoffry NCU. You also made me realize that Davos is a 3 use Winter is coming. I have been playing him as if I needed to be engaged when I activate the unit... So yeah that's gunna help a lot! Karl, I will be seeing you at Warderns of the West!
Awesome thank you, just to avoid a confusion you got the wrong Carl! The other one is a pretty cool guy though too! Lol
@rollemifyougottem they sound so similar! Sorry for the mix up.
All good no worries! Tell Karl that Carl from Roll’em said hi when you see him! Lol.
@@rollemifyougottem you got it!
For stag knights ability stags fury. Does that first one +2 crit blow become active at round 2? Like do you just go to the next one for round three or do you get all of them after 4 rounds? I just got this army and didn’t really know how that ability worked.
So the “Effects are Cumulative” part at the end of it is the key here. So rd 3 you get the first 2, rd 4 you get the first 3, and You get all 4 abilities in rd 5.
