People are like water: they adapt, improve, overcome. Able to shape into any form they're in. Able to break any barrier that limits them. A person each maybe less than a droplet. But in mass number, they become a flood. A tsunami. Boiling, angry, violent tides that will wash away all the efforts no matter how much you have sacrificed to achieved. This makes me think that it would be great if someone adapted Frostpunk into a TV show, focusing on the escalation of violence from the perspective of a random family caught in the civil war. A conflict between the Faithkeepers and the Stalwarts would make for a compelling storyline. Imagine the city following the Captain's path: the family could somehow be connected to the Faithkeepers (who oppose the Governor), either caught in the conflict or participating indirectly. They would suffer under the Stalwarts' repression, ultimately ending up imprisoned with others in a decaying enclave. @@Arex-isthis slaps too. Lets be honest nothing was beating The City Must Survive. Even The Inevitable from the last autumn dlc fell short (still amazing as well). This one at least has the benefit of being highly cinematic. It may not slap as hard as the lasts game final song but it's certainly equally climactic
This actually made me wonder: how would the people of Frostpunk wage war? Would they sabotage heatpipes to vital areas? Would they arm Automatons to charge down protestors like Cavlary? Would Zeppelins provide air support?
Based on how protests work in game, it seems seizing means of production and damaging vital infrastructure is the way to go. But the idea of weaponized automatons is quite jarring, good job.
Frostpunk: What should we do to build a utopia in the middle of an icy wasteland? Let's just work together. Frostpunk 2: What should we do to destroy a thriving utopia? Money, Oil and Democracy. Oh? shi....
I'm after my first playthrough and done exactly that. I tried to be fair and support everybody, but I was moved by the vision of defeating the frost. Then came the decision what to do about Winterhome, and so I began scavenging for steam cores, trying to lose as little people I could... And then I see the red icon of New London. I thought, "Am I lacking something? Some resources?". Boiling flask of oil. Pilgrims and Stalwards fevor rised. Delegates of the Council arguing. Screen slowly getting black. I knew that something bad would happen, and so I tried to get as much power as I could. Meanwhile, I managed to clear Winterhome. I built the upgrade of the generator. I enacted the Martial Law and got the text describing it, but it was cut short by a cutscene. I already knew what was going to happen. And so the war began... I had two options: Banishing the Pilgrims or becoming THE Capitan. Council gave me the secret police, my own army. Why wouldn't they give me all the power then? And so I managed to ease the conflict and build them their new homes. And then I realised... I created two ghettos... Where people will grow their anger and when I will be gone... They will rebel and destroy everything I built. Simply Amazing game. Kinda whished that "Anger" would be named "The city must not fall" but it can be a side name. (Also, I started my 2nd play and realised that the girl from the ending is the girl that was born in the beginning)
I did not want Adapters to do that. I supported them. Even if I believed transforming our home into safe heaven via warmth, I got my people to be ready to adapt. Our coal storages never were empty, even if we ceased to use it. Our oil is not endless. I wanted to prepare humanity for both. And I did. My Guards were made not only of progress enforcers, but of adaptors, and allied prisoners. My guards were loyal not to the cause, not to the authority, but to unity. In the end, I achieved peace, while remaining Steward. Even if little Mary Lost her mother because I couldn't prevent all casualties... I believed I prevented the worst.
Can't help but compare the theme with Tanc a lelec from Highfleet. At start of the game it would sound like the funeral march for you, but at the end, it would sound like a final dance for your enemies.

I mean, if you support the Stalwarts, they end up manning Automatons with searchlights and patrol the streets as "Enforcers"
All for the sake of the City
Absolutely brilliant.
Frostpunk: What should we do to build a utopia in the middle of an icy wasteland? Let's just work together.
Frostpunk 2: What should we do to destroy a thriving utopia? Money, Oil and Democracy. Oh? shi....
this honestly sold me to the game lol, properly the best non-trailer i came across.
Order!
ORDER!
*ORDER!!!!!*
Do you hear us steward!
Not the famous "Stewards quote book"! Why did you guys have to burn it?!
awesome bro what a good quality
Unpopular opinion: The crowd shouting "steward" sounds way better than "captain"
Frostpunk at it again with the boss music.
From "The City Must Survive", to "The City Must Not Fall"
Chills... Literally
this shit is fire!
how have you got the audio files? like the narrator voicelines
@@lord_nem3sis extracted them from the games files, i have shared some on the modding discord server
Ohhhhhhhhh comrade my thanks ! The music itself is outstanding but it really gives me chill with the other sounds and voice !
I need this on Spotify... IMMEDIATELY
3:55 Goes right to the beat.
Yeah i did that intentionally, you're the first person to point it out :>
@@Arex-is Awesome work!
Glory to the Second Captain of New London!!! 🗣❄🗣❄🗣❄🗣
The path of peace is narrow.
...and as long as we roam this still, cold world, it has no end...
Can't help but compare the theme with Tanc a lelec from Highfleet. At start of the game it would sound like the funeral march for you, but at the end, it would sound like a final dance for your enemies.
First hour: democracy is non-negotiable
Hour 10: I'll drag this damn city to prosperity no matter the cost!
POV your first attempt. It’s about how that went for me
Fortunately for me in my first play through I was able to send the pilgrims to the wayward moor and still retain democracy by only passing two rule laws. It was pretty hard though.
Context
You're in a LONG Whiteout
Tension is Critical
All factions are at War
All Districts are being seized and destroyed
Generator is at 95% Overdrive
Everyone hates your guts
But you used the chaos to promote yourself to Captain, and exiled everyone to an Enclave... but for how long?
Democracy is fun while peace reigns. But we all know that chaos cannot last forever. The city must not fall. Long live the Captain.
Those prisons aren’t gonna build themselves
absolute cinema🙌
Look at me...
I'M THE CAPTAIN NOW
Steward ! People are dying ! Hear us !
Thank you very much
I AM THE STEWARD AND I SHALL HAVE ORDER!
Man, i wish this video has subtitles in spanish so i show this work of art to all people i know
What happen, i need to know
CITY MUST STAND. IN ANY COST.
HAIL GENERATOR! HAIL STEWARD THE 1st! HAIL ORDER OF NEW LONDON!
The rise of captain power, people must serve and that's it!
No any power to peasant! Only captain!!
Hail captain!
Do you hear us, Steward!?
STEWARD! Do you hear us!?
nah...
the steward probably-
All hail the Captain
And the Stalwart city guards!
Humanity is itself as wild and untamed as the howling chill. Are you taking notes, steward?
why has this been the only thing that allows me to focused on task
Think you can add a version without captain or steward being shouted? Wpuld be perfect for a dnd campaign of mine.
Just the citizen chants being removed? you still want the announcer + whiteout siren + generator horn included?
Edit: feel free to post timestamps of what you want removed
@@Arex-is Just the citezen chants. my apologies for such a late response. Whenever they shout steward or captain.

This is really good
How did you extract the voice lines from the game? I need to know badly.
@@GruntsAreWin I've extracted them using fmodel and then plucked the soundbanks into foobar to get them into a .wav format, I've uploaded a few of the files onto the modding discord
Waiting for next peak.
