Lebron is the debatable GOAT. But had he been drafted to a remotely competent team that built a roster around him with a coach that sets the culture like Phil, Kerr, or Pop, he would be the UNDISPUTED GOAT.
Instead he had to play on a middling team with a owner who resented him for this first 7 years, and had to start to go find a team which old heads will always (wrongly) hold against him.

    • @Zett76

And yes, this finals defeat was HIS fault, and his fault alone.

Then he beat some of the weakest teams to play in the finals (old ass lakers, old ass trail blazers, weak supersonics, charles barkely almost by himself, old ass pedo Malone and the Jazz) The 90s was one of the weakest eras of basketball and it was the only reason MJ dominated. Let's do the maths:
If LeBron averages 25 ppg for 60 games next season he will reach around 42k points, so let's use that number.
Outside of Wilt no one has averaged 40 ppg for a season and the highest career average is 30.1, but let's say someone averaged 40 for his career.
    42,000÷40=40,000×40+2,000÷40=1,000+50=1,050 games of 40 ppg. That's a little less than 13 seasons (13×82=10×82+3×82=820+246=1,066).
Now with the more realistic 35 and 30 ppg
42,000÷35=1,200 14×82=1,148 => which means at least more than halfway through the 15th season
42,000÷30=1,400 17×82=1,394 => which means the beginning of season 18
And the scoring record isn't even in the top 5 of LeBron's most unbreakable records. It's ridiculous.
    And before anyone asks:
    Points generated (scored + assisted)
    Playoff points
Total points (regular season + playoffs)
Consecutive 10+ point games in the regular season
    Consecutive finals appearances

@@KoreanBoy9713 luka averages more ppg than lebron and he doesnt need to play 82 games a season.. if he continue to play at the same rate as he does he just needs to play the same amount of season as lebron and he will surpass lebron.. the reason lebron has a head start than luka is he didnt play in college and he played more games per season than luka.. lebron played 70-80 games per season in his early years against luka's 60 games but because of the new 65 rule luka would always will himself to play at that certain amount of games to qualify for awards.. as you can see in todays game there are players who play up to their 20th season without any fall on their statline like curry and KD who are in their 15th and 16th season and still dominates the same way they did in their early years.. now compare how luka plays against KD and curry.. dude curry is running miles and mles in just a single game and KD was way athletic in his early years compared to luka who fucking plays in his own phase.. this type of play has a lower risk of injury compared to other players thats also why luka doesnt have a major injury and that is also why he has the potential for a great longevity

It is unthinkable to us now, but I don't think it's an unbreakable record. At least I won't bet against it.
If you look at how the game had evolved, the score count of a 90s/early 2000s All Star game is about what they do on a regular game now, so who is to say that teams won't score 200 in a regular game regularly 15, 20 years from now? At that point we'll start having star players scoring over 100 a game and do 50 ppg seasons. If the game really do end up this way, we'd have a bunch of new "GOAT superstars" blast past the 40k mark at the halfway point of their career.
