- Tribute highlight video for Michigan defensive back Mike Sainristil. Set to a version of Kanye West’s “Flashing Lights.”
Wish I could’ve included his WR highlights to show a better glimpse of his playing career at Michigan, but his legend grew because of his ability at DB so it only felt right to just include that side of the ball. Plus time constraints due to the music 😅
Mike Sainristil began his college career in 2019 as a Wide Receiver, earning early playing time and even scoring (after a great RAC) against Notre Dam. He played both sides of the ball in high school, eventually winning Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year. Coaches raved about his route running ability in spring camp as an early enrollee. By 2020 he was a full-time starter at receiver, and after a solid campaign in 2021, moved to DB (mostly nickel) for his final two seasons.

Incredible Mikey Sainristil, as great as he was, was one of dozens of players who, playing anywhere else, would have stood out and dominated. Yet they shared “The Team” mentality beautifully and cohesively so that each week they simply did what it took to WIN. You could easily do a different highlight video on all of them!…JJ, Edwards, Corum (my GOSH Corum!!), Loveland, Graham, Jenkins, etc etc. Yet, just like Mikey, the video wouldn’t go on for 30 min…(OK, maybe Blake’s would!) just a solid 5 min of incredible moments that helped Team #144 WIN. Bo must be smiling in his grave…The Team, The Team, The Team!

Couldn’t agree more. He’s one of my favorite Wolverines of all time. Always came up clutch in the biggest moments. Whoever drafts him will be very happy imo
I’m the biggest fan of Mikey, but you can’t put anyone in the same category as the ONLY defensive player in NCAA history to win the heisman. No chance.

@@__ChristianHI’m sure most people would agree with your statement. However, what makes each and every player on Team #144 so incredibly special is that they embodied The Team mentality. Not one player came even close to standing out like Woodson…not Corum, Not JJ, not Edwards, not anyone on that incredible D. But by spreading out all that talent, each week we seemed to have a different hero stand out…and more-importantly each week the Team did what it took to WIN. I bet all the players wouldn’t have wanted it any other way…no one in Heisman contention, but one big, beautiful National Championship!
It's unlikely, but I wish the Lions would draft him... Dude is just flat out a playmaker, wherever you put him. He's the only CB I'd rather see them take than a DL.
