    I came across your channel a few weeks ago and have incorporated it into my daily practice. As someone who studied Fusha for years in college but had limited exposure to amiya (started out masri then switched to shami after the Arab Spring, so I didn't get extensive practice in either), being able to see the words I don't know so that I can learn them and practice recognizing them in everyday speech is incredibly helpful and something I couldn't find for the longest time. Thank you for the work you put into this.

    I don't know if you'll read this but I wanted to say that you're really helping me in learning arabic. I've always tried to find a good resource on how to study Arabic and it took me decades to just find a good one. But then I came across your channel.. And you're really helping a lot of people, especially when there aren't many good arabic channels that have kept on making videos about arabic so I just wanted to say that I and all the people out there appreciate you and I hope you'll keep going on teaching arabic. ❤❤❤
    الله يهمكي ❤

    I'm from Syriac Aramean descen and I would like to learn Levantine Arabic. Since I speak Aramaic, I may have a an advantage due to similarity in languages. I wanted to tell you that your videos are very helpful. You're absolutely right about the subtitles. It makes it so much better for us, so I thank you for all the worthwhile effort.
    I used to have trouble sleeping as well due to noice and/or warmth, but since I moved out and lived on my own, I've improved it with Airconditioning and less noice. I'm also fortunate with my work since I am allowed to start each workday at 10:00.

    I’m learning the Syrian dialect, would watching your videos or listening to Lebanese Arabic help or is it different? PS I love your videos ❤️

    • @arabicwithrana
      @arabicwithrana  Рік тому

      Heyyloos,
      My dialect is mainly Syrian. I may add a couple of Lebanese words in my videos though.
      General answer: Yes, you can watch Lebanese, Syrian, Palestinian and Jordanian series and movies if you are learning one of them. I'd recommend watching 2 movies of the dialect you are learning and add one from another Levantine dialect etc ...

    مرحبا يا رنا وشكرا على جهودك في هدول الفيديوهات يلي بتساويها لالنا.
    عندي سوال:
    في الجملة: "اني بشتغل كذا شغلة" تعني أنا بشتغل شغلات مختلفة؟
    يعني الكلمة "كذا" بتقدر تعاني مختلف/ة ؟
    يعطيك العافية!

    • @arabicwithrana
      @arabicwithrana  6 місяців тому +1

      مرحبا يا أليكس و أهلا و سهلا.
      إي صحّ. كلمة "كذا" ممكن تعني "عدّة" بالفصحى و هيدا بيعني
      several
      يعني ممكن نترجمها بطريقتين (مختلف/ة أو عدة).

    From what you said in this video, this is high time you may want to seriously think about doing away with Franco. It is taking so much of your time. And if learners are on the level that they benefit from this video, they wont need Franco. In other words you are just spoiling learners. And actually Franco is hindering the readability of texts.

    • @bennytheshapario5605
      @bennytheshapario5605 Рік тому

      I agree, if anyone uses Franco even a month into their learning they’re seriously hindering their progress

    • @arabicwithrana
      @arabicwithrana  Рік тому +5

      Dear @popwittenino & @bennytheshapario5605
      I understand that sometimes it is difficult to catch the Arabic and English when Franco is there! But you should guys know that many of my Advanced students are Franco Arabic writers.
      You might have learned the Arabic script but others didn't!
      They are absolutely hindering their progress like Benny mentioned, but they are "cases" in this world and we should respect that they don't have the time or effort to start learning how to read from the very beginning.
      Especially that in Lebanon (especially), Lebanese use the Franco Arabic to speak with each other (it's totally wrong in my opinion) but this is the reality and we can't change generations.
      My UA-cam is not meant to change people, my UA-cam is just to reach people and let them speak the language.
      So I totally understand that it is frustrating to you sometimes (it is frustrating to me if I read Franco all the time as well) but we should also respect that others just can't or won't but they would like to see a content that they love and understand.
      All the best to you guya and I hope I was clear about it.
      P.S: I am making a poll on this topic to see if my followers would like this or that (if it was 90% of people liking ONLY Arabic, I will do so, otherwise, I will respect people's choices).
      Love and respect ❤️

    • @popwittenino7411
      @popwittenino7411 Рік тому

      Thank you Rana. You are so nice to your Franco students haha. They write in Franco, but does it mean that they can’t read arabic alphabet? Even if then cant they only have to remenber 28 letters. It will take just 2 or 3 days. If you dont need to write Franco in your video, you will be making two times more videos on youtube. So Franco students, please learn to read arabic alphabet, it will not harm you rather it will do you so much good.

    • @bennytheshapario5605
      @bennytheshapario5605 Рік тому

      @@arabicwithrana I speak with many Lebanese friends and I noticed they only write in Franco indeed but the Arabic language is so beautiful written. It seems like writing it in Franco is doing such a disservice to its beauty.
