    What a scenery, amazing shots! 😲... Gosh I know so little about these ancient places but I like so much history, I definitely need to put Ephesus on my list, incredible! How come it got so busy with people all of a sudden? Is there a time they start the tours or so? It was like a dream without anybody there, you must have taken awesome pictures during that time 😀.. By the way, I tried Ayran once, but I guess it is one of those drinks you gotta get used to, not really my taste at first try 😅.. Great video, guys!

    • @SammyandTommy
      @SammyandTommy  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Romulo! We were first in line and when they let us in we ran to the furthest end and worked our way backwards (everyone else stayed at the front and so we were alone for a good bit). Ayran is definitely an acquired taste haha I will have to keep working at acquiring it 😜 , Thanks so much !! - Sammy 💜

      @@SammyandTommy ahhh now I got it, that's clever! Haha.. I'll keep that in mind when I visit it 😊... I'll give Ayran another shot soon.. Haha

    Always wise to do a little background reading before visiting. Robertson's 'Greek and Roman Architecture' is a good start, as is Steele's 'Hellenistic Architecture in Asia Minor'. The area around the Library of Celsus is very, very special indeed (and not just the library either).

    There is no such thing as “warm ayran”. It is clear that your first experience with ayran was unfortunately with a bad one because it should only be served cold (VERY COLD in fact). It is watered and salted yogurt; pretty straight forward but it shouldn’t taste that sour like you described. Savory, yes, but not sour. Most western countries associate yogurt with “sweetened yogurt” but yogurt is actually savory (in fact as you know even in USA savory yogurt is sold as “plain yogurt”, meaning not sweetened). We Turks use plain yogurt A LOT in our cuisine and ayran (if done right, which I don’t think the one you drank was a good one) is amazing. So, you must give ayran another chance again. And remember, it should be served cold. If you get room temperature one again, don’t accept it. ... I hope you visit Bodrum, Alacati etc. There are more gorgeous resort towns in Turkey that you need to explore. Enjoy your travels...

    • @SammyandTommy
      @SammyandTommy  3 роки тому

      Ah good to know. I did think it would of tasted much better if it was served cold but we will try again :) Thanks for the suggestions and support 👊

      @@SammyandTommy Thanks! Well, I'll give a few tips for you guys. I guess Rio is the most visited city in Brazil, its breathtaking. I love it. I live in São Paulo, which is the 4th or 5th biggest city in the world, but in terms of tourism I prefer Rio de Janeiro.
      1: come to Rio during fall or winter. It's warm enough but not overwhelming and it is the dry season, no clouds and sunny days. November through April is the rain season.
      2: If you want to be in a cool place with a lot of cool and young people around, stay in Ipanema. Urca, Leblon and Ipanema are the safest neighboorhoods in Rio.
      3: Be aware that Rio is not that dangerous but you need to keep an eye open. Don't use any jewerly and keep your phone inside your pockets if you go to downtown area. But the other areas like beaches and parks are safe. When you lay in the sand of any beach, keep your belongings in front of you.
      4: You guys like clubs? Go to Mirante do Arvrão or Bar da Laje. You just have to take a MotoTaxi at the bottom of the hill and they take you to the top with a stunning view and good food. Look for some videos on youtube. I went there once and I loved it.
      5: Places I like in Rio: Parque Laje, Christ the Redeemer, Parque Nacional da Tijuca (if you like hiking), Sugarloaf mountain, Praia Vermelha (there is a restaurante called Terra Brasilis with a stunning view to sugarloaf mountain in this beach. I think that's the only restaurant I can recommend you , since I'm not into spending a lot of money with food there).
      6: Beautiful sunsets can be watched from Pedra do Arpoador in Ipanema Beach.
      7: You can paraglide in Rio for around 100USD. Its expensive but you jump off a clif inside the woods and fly over the beach, it must be cool.
      8: Don't worry about the favelas, they are actually a touristic place. Most of the areas are pacified.
      9: The last time I went there, I went to Morro Santa Tereza. It's a part of the city where you can eat good food and appreciate a hidden part of Rio.
      10: That's it. Just come to Brazil and you'll fall in love.
      EXTRA TIP: There are some states here with a lot of nature to explore if you like it, you should check, I'll leave that to you: Lençois Maranhenses, Pantanal, Florianopolis, São Paulo, Fortaleza, Jeri.
