Honestly, a legend of a film. A hidden gem. Sad they don't make movies like these. Great soundtrack, storyline, and legendary actors, that day by day, we have fewer and fewer of. Honestly, worth watching.
Boy, ill tell you it's torture to want someone you can't have. It is very frustrating. It's just really something. But, this is a very romantic movie. Thank you for posting. I like the acting. The music is wonderful.
The ending of this film breaks my heart - having to walk away from someone that you cannot have is almost life ending. I saw this film way back in the 80's and it darn well happened to me in 2000 when figuratively speaking I had to walk out across that square not knowing what the hell could come next that could possibly replace my loss. Still scarred to this day. If I had been God and had realised that something I created could experience such trauma I may have stopped on Day 1 of creation.
The part of the movie that moved me the most, even more than this scene, was Christopher Plummer assessing himself as the guy who has a wet coat. And still able to smile.
Leslie Anne Down is such a beautiful actress and this 👀 gorgeous, simply gorgeous❤ P.A.H This could be us ❤ I am thrilled saying 16/8/24 vey soon, I will be the proud owner of the dvd.❤️👍😘
It's not just about being faithful because you should, because some marriages really should end... It's about staying with your spouse for the right reasons. She loves her husband, no doubt about that. But then she falls madly in love with another man. Him walking away is the only solution, but it kills him to do so.
She was married, and her husband was a good man. That was the reason. I knew that kind of love, and is the most killing force of nature: love somebody that never will belong to you. I thing anybody deserves that kind of doom.
I can't attest to feeling better about it! Funnily enough, I was in the capital yesterday, not lost but disorientated, and I looked up at the street name above my head and lo and behold I was on Hanover Street!! I am destined to live out that film it seems. Maybe I'll be a pilot if there's a war?
Oh my gosh that was so cute! The couple, I mean. I absolutely love Harrison and he looked so damn GOOD in that movie! =D I've never seen it but I'm definitely going to soon! =D
At my funeral, I want 3 pieces of music played. 1. Hanover Street (Main Title) by John Barry, 2. Somewhere in Time (Main Title) by John Barry, 3. Into the West (Annie Lennox) from Return of the King.
Indeed! I don't think she found her husband lacking in any way, but then she got to experience love in a whole different way and she couldn't resist. It couldn't last forever, but that's all right. Things are turning about the way they're supposed to turn out, right? I love Harrison Ford, he's so damn expressive and seeing him play a man helplessly in love is really something. God damn, his eyes... You know the way he looked in ESB just before he was frozen, I'll tell you the man's divine... Christopher Plummer is so damn NICE though, who wouldn't want to be married to him? A jolly good fellow in a pyjamas... He's quite funny too.
thank you for sharing your experience with us. right, from Day 1 of creation, it might have surprised God that the humans created could have such emotion and capable of reproduction that they ain't need the God of creation no more.

Think of me when you drink tea.
I love this scene.
This particular scene gets me every time! ❤

This scene of the two of them--Wow.

@koyumi255 He said "Think of me when you drink tea."
This is a really good movie.
Back when Hollywood was all about doing the right thing: faithfulness in marriage seen here and in Casablanca. Watch their movies now.

Thanks, Vincent. I love this film.
Things work out the way they supposed to
The best!❤🎉

Deserve??

GRRRRRR TOO SAD!
I imagine the director saying, "You Harrison gets the girl!"
“I love you.”
“I know..”
😂😂😂😢😢😢
Oh my gosh that was so cute! The couple, I mean. I absolutely love Harrison and he looked so damn GOOD in that movie! =D I've never seen it but I'm definitely going to soon! =D
He was so handsome wow!
Wasn't he??!🤩
Reminds me of the ending scene in "Casablanca."
:) Film génial
the girl in the first 20 seconds is patsy kensit

The only one solution for them was to be "Swingers"... husband has a live-debt to Halloran and Maggie loves him...
I know the ending is sad but I can't understand why she loved him instead of the wonderfull Christopher Plummer
Late reply, but she loved them both. That's the tragedy.

Anyway, I can't really understand how a woman could prefer Harrison Ford, or whoever, to the divine Christopher Plummer...
