This was SO helpful. I've gone through too many whips over the years and I'm definitely gonna try your teasing and weaving techniques.

Thanks love your channel. I just started whipping. What are the pros and cons of a split whip compared to a normal one. I'm thinking of splitting mine. Can you still do all the things a non split whip can do?

Glad to hear you're finding it helpful! Some things I really love about split whip are the shapes of the whip trails you can create. It's a great way to add more visual variety to your whipping. The balance points of your whip will be different depending on how the fibers are arranged, ie. how many are closer to the handle, how many times it's been split etc. I wouldn't say there's any real cons, as all whip heads differ between brands and change shape over time, with use. I'd say ultimately it's down to your personal preference. You can definitely do the majority of moves an unsplit whip can, as well as various moves unique to the shape. Let me know how you find it should you split your whip ☺️ check out @firecatfusion she has a great split whip tutorial as well as a bunch of moves to try 🙌

This helped so much! My cat pulled a fiber while practicing and it was bothering me!

I just picked up a whip but it has quite a curl to it. When I detangle it becomes a wild mess. Is it possible to straighten it a bit with some heat?

Same! FiberFlies has a written tutorial on straightening / curling whips with heated water, but I’m scared to try it lol. I’m gonna try cleaning then splitting my whip in two with the tease/weave methods. I’m hoping that will clean my baby up a bit!
