The San Marcos river it looks like for the clear river - I've snorkeled it. It's impressive you could go up current in it. Good place to metal detect. I wonder if they would let you do it at Balmorhea.

Hi, Dallas. You really did give the Waydoo Subnado a test trial. I've seen one other treasure hunter use it, but his hunt areas are mainly in the waters at beaches, so it's useful for blowing away the deep sand, too.
A lot of trash removed from the various rivers but you also had some decent finds.

That "comically big torch lighter" was, in fact, a butane powered soldering gun/heat gun. I use one from Portasol everyday to do wire repair in the field. No electricity needed!

How long did the subnado last you? Cause you were only using it from location to location. Just curious. Thanks for taking the time to make this awesome review video.
Thank you eliandjessica878! No they didn't interfere with my detector performance, and the battery lasts me about 1-3 hours depending on how much I use it and which power levels I use. Level 3 zaps the battery within like 30 min if I just keep it running full blast. But usually I keep it on low mode and only use level 2 and 3 when I need to get somewhere quick. I also attached it to my paddleboard this past weekend and it is AWESOME!!!

That's exactly what it is. If you Google "Sterling", "15th anniversary pocket knife" you will find ones by Remington that look exactly like that with a whole bunch of different handle types. They are from the late 90s though! 😊

you really should not be using DPV's with SCUBA unless you are trained to do so. The rapid depth changes can easily put you into a DCS situation if you are not careful.
That being said they are super fun and save you tons of air. Be safe and have fun!
10-15' deep in a river DCS is not an issue though
@@waldo2635 yeah thats not true at all. The biggest pressure differential happens in the first 10m of water and that is biggest factor in developing DCS. I'm an instructor and I developed DCS in shallow water after repeated CESA's with a student that was struggling.
Would encourage you to review your dive training if you have any, because its pretty clearly stated that it is the rate of change in pressure and tissue saturation that matters, not the total depth.
