An awards show by somebody who actually knows film. Jesse James was not my number one of the year -- that goes to There Will Be Blood -- but it's an outstanding film in its own right. Thank you, Mr. Kermode, for reminding us what a real film critic sounds like.
Am i the only person who think Kermode should be on every show? I desperately want to see him on Question Time, because regardless of whether I agree with his opinions or not, they always have some sort of logical basis - can't say the same for MPs though.
Johnny Depp losing out to that Ian Curtis biopic and the great Ken Russell heckling from the otherwise empty auditorium! Only Kermode could pull that off...
Assasination of jesse james should have got best soundtrack aswell. As good as Jonny Greewood's score is, there are times in the film where it becomes distracting such as in the clip featured. Nick Cave's score is understated yet mesmeric, perfectly mirroring the film's performances
Jonny Greenwood totally deserves the award!
The Assassination of Jesse James is one of the greatest films of the 21st century and Andre Dominik is an absolute master.
Jonny Greenwoooood!! Should recieve another Kermode award for his even better score for The Master
also, if there was any justice in the world that would have been Jonny's oscar acceptance speech.
thank you for putting this up again this year!
Ken Russell in the audience. Deserved win. RIP. xx
As a massive film fan and aspiring maker this guy is a rare legend. Long live the doctor.
Great Stuff - many thanks
These awards are better than the oscars by far.
Deserved winner for Best Film - how this didn't get the recognition it deserved is beyond me.
You are soooo outrageous!
You're welcome!
RIP Ken Russell
Aww Sam Riley - Love him!
because the Oscars is about celebrating the film industry, and this is about one man's best-of-year list.
Agreed!!!
lol at the end
I prefer this one, more colour in it.

LOL, he's right about Johnny Depp.
Jonny can speak?!

The Oscars were a joke from the start, lol.
History of violence was mindless crap!
