    Hello to everyone watching in 2019! I've put together an updated shopping list of items I can find for this project on Amazon, should you want to skip a visit to the craft store. www.amazon.com/shop/sparklysharpfabulous?listId=24AVLBICIPXPZ That being said: please keep an eye on the size of the ornaments you are getting vs the size of the trees! I've noticed the ornament listings often change size/description and I don't want anyone winding up with the wrong combo. If you're unsure about what size tree you should get, I suggest the variety pack. The "jumbo" ornaments are hard to find in a plastic model online, so that may warrant a trip to the craft store. I'll update the list as I come across helpful pieces. Happy crafting!

    The glitter clinging to the plastic ornaments makes such a cool, snowy effect, esp with the lights of the Xmas tree! TFS :)

    I made these last year and used miniatures from dollar store. I had to cut the sides open to get benches in. I used little tiles and glued them together with my coworkers names in each one. They loved them. I need those big gloves you had

      I'm so glad you made them! How have they held up? Mine sit in the attic and it gets crazy hot up there. Have only had to do minor repairs on one since I shared this video.

    Use a drinking straw to place the trees. Place straw over top of tree and lower it in

    • @TheSparkleQueen
      @TheSparkleQueen  6 років тому +1

      Do you think the trees will stay in the straw when moving them around?

    Go to the pet store and get feeding tongs. They look like giant tweezers. So much better grip than using skewers as chopsticks... Lol

    • @TheSparkleQueen
      @TheSparkleQueen  6 років тому +5

      Absolutely an option depending on which size ornament you use. I suspect in some of the smaller globes with more narrow openings you'll find it harder to manipulate where everything lands since the tongs will take up most of the wiggle room. Whatever gets the job done!

    I love your very crafty ideas and you’re too funny with your commentaries! I used to build ships in bottles so this this looks like lots of fun! (Also, extremely easy for me!) if you cannot do the “Chopstick” maneuver with a pair of skewers, they do sell thin elongated tweezers. (In most larger Craft Stores) ♥️👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

    Really cute and pretty. I tried to get the open front globes at Michaels but they were sold out. I never got the hang of using chopsticks so don't know if I'll try these. tfs

    • @TheSparkleQueen
      @TheSparkleQueen  6 років тому

      Sandra Knight Oh I believe it! I went to my local Michael's last night and it was insane. I have some links to the ornaments on Amazon if you're one to shop online in the description above. I know the ornaments that are split always come up in the "similar items" category. If not you can try some large tweezers, they may help if you aren't feeling good about chopsticks. Good luck!

    I have a couple of questions...First, why do you put brown paint on the bottom instead of white? Second, why are you using clear glitter instead of white flocking/white glitter? I’m just curious, maybe you mentioned these things and I didn’t hear you. Thanks!

    • @TheSparkleQueen
      @TheSparkleQueen  4 роки тому +1

      Hey Maggie! The brown for me is more of just a representation of a forest floor. I'm envisioning this being an early snow situation in these globes. Plus I like the contrast, though I can see the white looking nice as well. I personally went with the clear glitter for a few reasons: it has a little more shimmer to it, I figured it would create a little more static then the flocking, helping it stick easier to the ornament, and for the amount of these that I make, it's a cheaper option. If you make some with flocking I would love to see them. Happy crafting!

    Is there a good reason you didnt add the smaller trees first , leaving the center open for the larger tree. Seems easier than trying to work AROUND the larger tree.

    • @TheSparkleQueen
      @TheSparkleQueen  6 років тому

      I tried that when I was testing it out, but found that because of the size on the larger tree, it was harder to work around it when trying to finagle the smaller trees. If you're making a few of these ornaments, I'd be curious to know if you had better luck doing it in the reverse. Happy crafting!

    you could use tweezers. dollar tree sells them

    • @TheSparkleQueen
      @TheSparkleQueen  5 років тому

      You sure can! Normal tweezers are a little difficult because how short they are, but if you make it work for you - that's all that matters!

    I wanted to put names on clear ornaments for those family members who have passed away.Can you do one with a name inside of a ornament

    • @TheSparkleQueen
      @TheSparkleQueen  5 років тому

      What a thoughtful idea! Have you considered the "disc" ornaments? They have a seam around the whole diameter that opens open the ornament into 2 pieces. If you were to open it up, you could put a custom engraving of the name, keepsakes, or even take a metallic sharpie pen and decorate the interior of the ornament, and then place the top half of the disc back on.

    How do I get a reindeer in there 😫

    • @TheSparkleQueen
      @TheSparkleQueen  4 роки тому

      So sorry I missed this! If you are going for a reindeer, you may need one of the ornaments that split in half and then you seal after you fill it. Did you sort something out last year?
