Well I just found out that Colum was too busy planting potatoes to send in his pictures from his trip. So this entire episode is missing all this gold of him as a kid posing with hookers. Everyone please make fun of him for this lazy show of crapfulness. He literally had it all on his laptop and just didn't send them.
Monroe Martin didn't even know the name of the country that he visited. When looking at the map he says "somewhere in East Africa" then says he doesn't see it. I spotted it on first viewing and I never got A's in geography. haha
New favorite podcast. 4th Episode in. First was Shane in Spain. This is absolute gold dude. I hope this grows to millions of subs. the Santino in Sicily, incredible. I'm fully tuned in now.
How do you even make plans for this trip. I would love to go but I have absolutely no idea how to even begin. How do you know where to go, how to reserve somewhere to stay, I have absolutely no idea how to begin and because of that every time I even think about going my ignorance just throws that idea back into the trash

How do you even go about planning a trip there? How do you reserve a room or some where to stay. I want to take trips like this but it seems impossible to someone that’s never done it
@@brettbarton1911 And it's a great jumping off spot and a real hub to get to the rest of SE Asia. Get your travel legs in Thailand and then when you're ready to go deeper, you get all the info you need from people who were just there.
Man, this episode brought back so many memories! I have so many stories of solo traveling in Thailand. From Muay Thai training in Phuket (in 2018 and 2023), to making out with strippers and buying Jordans from a cokehead in Patong road, to drunken beer munchie pad thai on Khao San Road and bar hopping in Soi Cowboy and accidentally being taken to a back alley brothel by a cab driver in Bangkok. Fucking Thailand, bro! 😂😂 I’ll be on this podcast one day and I’ll tell you all about it. Manifesting it now. Thanks Ari, this is my new favorite show!
My buddy from Canada goes to Thailand for like 10 months out of the year, and learned diving and underwater photography. Now he makes killer money with his shots!
I moved to Thailand for a year to teach culinary school on a resort in a squid fishing village (Paknampran). Taught jiu jitsu at a Muay Thai camp after teaching class and trained with people all over the world. Went back a couple years later for a month and was in Chiang rai when the kids got stuck in the cave. Then went to Indonesia and left Gili T a day before a huge earthquake. Then went back to Thailand Feb of 2020 and got bit by a monkey, which I’m certain caused Covid. Also used your episode about Passover to educate my Jewish family, it was hilarious.
Collie really getting a lot of mileage out the term "New" to New York comedy scene. I've been watching him grind this out for several years now. What a champ.
The ad for spring is the best one I have seen. I was looking for tickets for your PNW shows and I couldn't find any, are they already sold out or cancelled?
Oh. Portland as in Maine. And yeah, it's way sold out. The tour is over. after my special and a trip to Australia. That's just a tack on show to make a hiking trip tax deductible.
I've lived in Thailand for 25 years. I remember the feelings you guys talk about. It becomes pretty normal after a few years. BTW, they don't get malaria in the cities, and you don't really have to worry about it even in the mountains. It is dengue fever people get. I've had it three times! The last time was absolutely brutal. There are different strains, and man, was I sick, so sick, the last time.
So how do you avoid getting all these horrible illnesses? I would love to go to countries like these but I’ve heard horrible things about malaria medication and then the bugs or mosquitoes can make you sick or the water. I’d hate to go here and be deathly sick the entire time
@@kingofoblivion1822 It takes a while to get used to new bacteria. I had stomach issues quite a bit for the first few years, but it passed. No need to brush your teeth with bottled water, but we don't drink tap water. Dengue isn't nice, but most people don't get it. I guess I am unlucky. Three times is unusual for anyone, Thais included. You don't have to worry about malaria or other diseases. I also don't get colds or flus here, whereas I got them a lot in the UK. In all, living here is not that much different in terms of diseases.
Thailand is wild I love it need to go back since they sorted the weed situation out I Learnt to open water scuba dive there and been Mexico diving since, smoking that sticky ass block of buds and ragging a moped around the islands 😅 could be paradise some might say
Is the smell you are talking about also around other tropical areas? If so it is basically humidity + rotting tropical fruits (Mango, durian, jackfruit). Smell it everywhere around SEA and the pacific islands.
