It is. You just need to spend more than 5 seconds to look for it. Rock, punk, and grunge aren't the zeitgeist anymore (for good reason). If you want to listen to this style of alt rock/pop punk you can still find it in bands like: Milestones, Stand Atlantic, pretty reckless, Sleep on it, etc etc. The sound is just kind of worn at this point, it was so over-saturated in the late 90's early 00's. Better sounds are being made in the rock/metal world like those from: Ghost, Sleep, Polyphia, Horrendous, and many more. Music evolves, old and tired sounds are abandoned and new ones are found/made. Most people have moved away from pop-punk but it still has bands dedicated to the sound.

Everyone has a different taste in music and we should appreciate others' opinions but I also agree with Karl Vincent Dispo that this band has been overshadowed by the current singers and bands just because they were introduced by bigger companies. Many might deserve it but in my opinion Simple Plan is much more deserving than many of the "Popular singers and bands" of today.
