    Monocoque doesnt mean "one peice". It just means that the structural elements are integral to the body. So you can glue as many pieces together as you like as long as the body is all part of the structure. Not molded all as one necessarily.

    Any chance to test Polygon carbon frames? I am the proud owner of a Strattos S8. Every cyclist advised me not to buy this bike... tbh I'm not a skinny guy and this frame seems pretty solid, no problems carrying my weight which is 98 kg. I'm very curious to see how good their frames are. It's a pity that they only offer a 5-year warranty.

    1st: This is not flagship, Giant's flagship will always come with ISP.
    2nd: Surprisingly how the clean is the internal of the frame. I have see quite a few v4xs and Dxgma F with significant more leftover resin and carbon compared to this.

    • @JourdainColeman
      @JourdainColeman  Рік тому +2

      Not a massive fan of those ISP's... frustrating if you want to sell the frame. I have a TCR frame with ISP so I'm intrigued to see how it rides once built 👍🏽

    • @Chris-iv2ud
      @Chris-iv2ud Рік тому

      @@JourdainColeman Nice, I do think you will be a big fan of the ISP in term of how they ride. Yea, resell is a problem if you have cut off too much of the seatpost, but I guess resell value is never a consideration for any bike brand.

    • @travelersimports6915

      @@Chris-iv2ud I have both and maybe it is a placebo effect but non isp frame feels a little more comfortable on rougher terrains and on country roads. On smooth new pavements, both climb about the same. Maybe if you climb for an hour then you might start catching the difference, but unfortunately, we don't have such long climbs here in Wisconsin. Also SL frames are made in climate controlled rooms while these non isp frames are built in regular factory set up so sometime you may even see dust particles on a brand new frame. :).

    I heard the lack of weight in listings is to avoid potential litigation if the weights vary, which they always do. I thought it was more specific to certain countries though (e.g. US).

    • @Mike-oz4cv
      @Mike-oz4cv Рік тому +1

      One would hope they’d be able to keep the weight within a ±10% range or something.

    • @travelersimports6915
      @travelersimports6915 Рік тому

      You are very much correct. The problem is that these mid grade frames are not made in climate controlled rooms and therefore carbon cures differently during summer and winter months based on the air humidity and room temperature. I believe only SL frames are made in climate controlled rooms hence have more consistent results while the lower grade frame will have different results during summer and winter months. I wonder what month production frame will be the best to buy because not everyone may enjoy ISP frames.

    • @veganpotterthevegan
      @veganpotterthevegan Рік тому

      It's more to not deal with complaints. Nobody lists their frame weights with a promised weight. How many lawsuits have you heard of due to frame weights?😂

      A Lamborghini used to cost $10k. Things change😂 I was selling +$10k bikes over 15yrs ago. Its pretty remarkable what you get for $5-8k these days. A WIRED SRM used to cost $5000, and Zipps that would melt on long descents were $2200. Now you can get a bike with a power meter and aero wheels for $6500-7000 without accounting for inflation

    • @JourdainColeman
      @JourdainColeman  Рік тому +3

      The Propel Advadnced Pro 0 are top of the line frames. That 3k could have been just the frameset to be honest but getting info online for new prices isn't easy. It was also 6 years ago so factor in inflation and how crazy the bike industry prices have become and It seems about right.

      @@JourdainColemanthe advanced pro frame wasn't top of the range. That was the advanced sl with the integrated seatpost. I had the 2016 advanced pro 1. It was 2600 with mechanical ultegra and 50 mm carbon wheels.

    I think it isnt really correct to say that the frame is 6 years old.
    That Propel carbon frame was launched in 2014. And noe its mid december so I think it’s more fair to say that the frame is almost 10 years old.
