My nails aren't nearly as hooked as his and he's still great at guitar! Inspiring 😍 Oh, Brad please take an iron supplement 😭😭 this reminds me of the time I got stuck at my friend's apartment in a snowstorm, and he didn't have anything but cereal to eat, and all the spoons looked like this and it creeped me out. Now I realize he was just a guitarist with terrible nails. I was too judgemental 😞
Currently playing with nails as short as possible but blow me , what a coincidence ....yesterday I bought a glass nail file along with other implements with the slight aspirations of developing my right hands fingers touch points. Its the coincidence that provokes todays response. I will now watch Brads said output. I like Brad. I think he has nailed his platform. Pun intended but came to me by coincidence.
This is a perfect time to tell you Cameron, as well as everyone else: I cut my nails. Can't do it. Can't grow them out. It feels too weird so I'll just have to accept my fate as a nail-less classical player. I'm sorry if I'm a disappointment you all.
Amateur classical guitarist here. One issue I get with my nails is that I will often develop a crack in them, most commonly the i finger. My only solution has been to just file it down to where the crack ends. Do you think this is more from a bad technique, diet and or inferior nail genetics? Maybe all three. Loved the thumbnail btw 😁
i foudnd that the first 5 measures of the presto and adagio are such great g minor practice so i just read through them(easily ofc becuase iam totally not a begginer)_
The spoon turns black because when things burn (the butane) they make soot. You're seeing soot deposit. Also "I think what I'm about to do is really stupid....whatever, let's just go ahead and go for it!" 🤣🤣
Pro sounding voice over during the nail filing- was that recorded during the filing or afterwards? Hard to tell as there are visual edits in the nail shots but no hiccups in the monologue
My nails are WORSE than Brad's. And the method works--a little. But it only holds for a couple of hours. It might be Scott Tennant who suggested contouring the nail to de-emphasize the hooked part. That's easier, but also not terribly effective. I have to live with what I got. And yes, I did burn myself once.
I have the same downward-curve problem with my "i" nail as Alan Matthews. Never tried the hot spoon (not worth the risk), but I straighten it significantly with warm/hot water and by shaping it upward and straight with the top-edge of the thumbnail from my other hand - and it's fine until the next morning when it hardens and curves down again. It's not a big deal, and I work with it. But before I discovered that I can re-shape it, it used to catch and snap strings routinely, and annoyingly. Not anymore though.
Let my personal taste not detract from your evident progress BUT here comes a scathing review. Please understand it comes from my care of your skills and artistry Just an honest opinion, which you’re already aware of, is the second half sounds better because it sounds like 6/8 and not like 4/4 in triplets (across two measures) Even if you prefer 4/4, count in 2/4, bar by bar, not two beats to a bar (1/4). Everything should feel like it’s in “1”. Why is this so crucial? Because the whole point of the movement is about transitioning the weight of the pulse to each of the 6 locations of the 6/16 to create contours and textures. This is kind of one of Bach’s major “breakthroughs”. A 4/4 feel eliminates the options to 1 and 4 in 6/16. That’s 33% of the possibilities! It smooths out the contours and removes some potential. I don’t know how many people would find the 4/4 in triplets annoying, but I will say it’s not just me. I’m pretty sure I already promised you I wouldn’t mention this again, but it’s that important to me. Hope you understand. Keep at it. First comes the notes then comes the flavor. Again, apologies for my stark honesty. Much love going your way.
okay one more intresting question i know you hate these can you tell us how we can "teach" classical guitar to people like you know when you start your job as an english teacher they tell how to teach instead of what to teach so how would that go for classical music and specifically guitar
Yeeeeeaaaaahhhh...that would be a no from me but hey, to each his own. Oh! Completely off topic, but as a cigar lover, never ever use a cigarette lighter. Always use a butane lighter or else you will ruin the taste of the cigar.
WHAT AN EDGY THUMBNAIL HOLY WOW CAMERON

That thumbnail will blow this up
I heard it can be a little addicting, but if you get hooked, at least your nails will benefit, whatever you do, don't use a spork.

I saw the heroin spoon on the thumbnail and went “is this how Cameron announces his jazz career?”
bruh lmao
It hasn’t gotten so bad to where I’d play jazz

Even if you play well from now on Donnie, I can't say you nailed it.

I have no idea, a crack has been forming in my left hand thumb nail and I assume it’s just from aging

That was all filmed as usual, no voice over😄

Wow, it was strong enough to snap strings?
@@Sorhands Well, it would snap the string against the guitar top cuz the nail wouldn't easily slide off of it. No breaking of the string though.
imagine being such a great guitarist and then you have a nail that just isnt nailing it
Thomas viletaue does great nail video

There are certainly worse things you could be doing with a lighter and a spoon 😂
