That's not actually the case, that was just bad universe timing. Character dialog is written long in advance so the animators can sync the vocals w/ the character. Loona not talking much is more due to limitation on VA budget at the time of recording
Blitzø's "He can get hurt?" line really hit me right in the feels. His facial expression and tone of voice just shows that he really does care about Stolas. And the scene right after? I've never gotten so emotional from a text chain before.
The fact that Blitz was so nonchalant about the kidnapping because he was so sure that nothing could actually harm Stolas is shown. He thought all this was just another 'bodyguarding job' with Stolas as per Loo Loo Land... Stolas faking being helpless to have Blitz around. Realizing Stolas ACTUALLY HAD BEEN IN DANGER this time made him upset at himself for treating Stolas' call for help so dismissively he couldn't face Stolas in the hospital. He almost lost someone he cared about (whether he admits it or not) AGAIN and that made him shut down big time.

I can't remember if it's cannon or speculated that Blitzø is actually pretty illiterate. Idk if that's important but I think it's interesting to consider.
It adds another layer to the texts... I wouldn't be surprised if the shear amount, and how well written, Stolas' texts are just makes Blitzo even more self conscious, and thus even less likely to want to try and text back more then the bare minimum.
If you notice, Alicia, there's actually context throughout the show to suggest why Blitzø texts or writes the way he does. In episode 1 of season 1, there's an advertising billboard in the background about the company and it specifically says "Speech-to-Text" and has a lot of spelling errors. The whiteboard in the office also has different things written on it whenever it's shown in an episode that also has spelling errors. In S1 Ep3, Moxxie points out that Blitzø's Spring Break Discount flier has bad grammar and is poorly spelled. Then we see in S2 Ep1 that Blitzø grew up working in his dad's circus from a very young age and it's safe to say they were scraping by. I think at this point it would be fair to assume that Blitzø didn't have a proper education and is considered illiterate to some degree. That would explain why he uses Speech to Text or just answers in simple one word responses because that's really all he can manage.
and even if he had gotten some education in it he also seem to be Dislexic so he might have to many problems typing the long sentens. which i identify with as a person with Dislexia

A little note about the texts, the way each of them talks shows just how different their upbringings were due to their literacy skills. Blitzo outright doesn't know how to spell the words he's using, so he's going by phonetics.
27:20 yeah and then the wilted rose petals is the allusion of “he loves me, he loves me not”, each one falling away as Stolas waits for Blitzø to respond to his text, a message that never comes. Also the slowed down version of Stolas’ theme playing at the end, is the same version that played at the tail-end of the flashback of Blitzø and Stolas playing together as children under the tree. It’s like Stolas replaying those better times in his head, as he’s lying in the hospital bed.
You can see the shocking realization that Blitzo has once he realises that Stolas can get hurt. Blitzo's put Stolas on a pedestal so much, that he has perceived Stolas to be unreachable and untouchable.
In the previous Stryker episode, he stopped Stryker from killing Stolas, and complained about having to do so. Meaning he already knew Stolas can get hurt. So this is definitely one of those times when the show disregards previous events so something dramatic can happen.

I like how all season they are slowly hinting at Blitzo's trauma. just a line of dialougue here and there. rewatching picks up so much. Its very well written, and performed
I think deep down Blitzø does care about Stolas, but he’s so emotionally scarred from his past that he’s afraid of any kind of serious connection to anyone else and built up a wall of excuses (I.e. he’s not good enough to be loved, Stolas can’t be hurt, Stolas only views him as a sexual fling, etc.). On top of that Stolas has only recently started trying to get more serious with Blitzø and has done a rather poor job at communicating that up to this point. Once they start the Season resumes though, I suspect we’ll see at least some evolution of their relationship.
It is stated in the episode they're held hostage by Dhork that Blitzø keeps everyone at arms length so if they leave it hurts less. And it is heavily implied it's exactly what he's doing with Stolas. Afraid he isn't good enough for a royal, or that there is no way a royal could actually want him
On top of that, Stolas SAYS he doesn't look down on Blitz, that he sees him as an equal partner... but we sure don't see that. He's still doing "rich people" micro-aggressions on Imps all the time, treating them as physical objects to convenience or amuse him, never saying "thank you" to any of his servants, constantly using demeaning language to and around Blitz under the guise of "it's cutesy boyfriend stuff", despite Blitz being _pretty blunt about hating it._
Unironically you're one of the few vtubers i would describe that way; lotta other people are just annoying, but you got that militant edge that keeps it all real
Even more heartbreaking, when the rose petals fell you could play the he loves me, he loves me not game along with the petals falling. It also coincides with how stolas would think maybe he does love me and the it ends with Blitzø not answering and the petals end with he loves me not.
The tragedy of Blitzø is that he is truly a loving, compassionate, deeply caring person, but he’s self image has been beaten down and tarnished by so many awful things happening to him. The reason he pushes people away, why I doesn’t let them get close, is because he loves them, and hates himself so much he thinks that being around the real him and letting them love him would be worse for them than the pain caused by his distancing and lack of love
I can't believe people call this poorly written, like oh my god the way they go from flawless comedy to ripping your heart out with realistic struggles and relationships is amazing.
So fun fact: each of the rings of Hell is the "homeworld" of a different hellborn demon race. Envy: Aquatic demons, Sloth: Baphies *the goats with the candle on the head*, Lust: Succubi/Incubi, Wrath: Imps (who also apparently have some of the highest reproductions rates given how common they are across all rings now), Gluttony: Hellhound, Greed: (either the "Lone Shark" or these jester demons that we see in the background sometimes but seem to have some of the lowest numbers of the demons so far). Pride *this is debated, some say the Sinners count but those are human souls *and fan theories they might have once been sent to all the rings but due to some change, maybe wanting natural demons to have a society, the sinners are now sent to sections of pride that imitate the rings*, or possibly and as of yet unrevealed demon race, which might be the cannibal colony mask like sharp tooth faced ones...its just a theory those aren't sinners but their own demons native to Pride. there also hybrids, which does provide evidence the rings were once separated as hybrids aren't that common, and might be seen as second class as we seem to see more hybrids in Sloth *which has a medical and drug theme* than anywhere else.
I think Goeitia also all live in Pride, which could mean that they are the native Hellborn of Pride. They are of course higher than all other hellborn but well, Lucifer is the King over rest of the Sins so one could presume his demons might rank higher as well.
One of my favourite parts is when blitz asked what the cowboy kidnapping stolas looked like and when he said “sexy” Moxxie knew it was striker and when blitz asked which cowboy friend was taking stolas and Moxxie said “how many cowboys do you know” to blitz
Also gotta remember Stolas is like...1 step under the Seven Deadly Sins in the demonic hierarchy. Literally even the concept of a non sexual wound is probably completely foreign to him. I mean even Blitz couldnt even imagine Stolas getting hurt
Oh he was probably aware, conceptually, that Angelic steel could hurt him. He just might never have conceived that anyone would dare try and USE it, or that they could possibly get close enough.
the main thing about blitzo and stolas' relationship is because stolas is SO high up socially comapred to blitzo, blitzo taes that as an excuse to not think anything going on with him and stolas is serious. but mroe than that he sees Stolas as not being the same as him inherently because of that and so sees him as more powerful. Which is partially true yes. but my point is this assumption is why "he can be HURT?" hits blitzo likes a truck. He thought Stolas was LITERALLY invincible. And now eh finds out that, no, somethig CAN hurt him. Enough to hospitalise him. Now blitzo is starting to see a small hint that stolas ISN'T that different from him. If this changes things between them, time will tell.
As goofy as the Loona-shot scenes are in comparison to the rest of the episode, on rewatch I really notice how the hospital staff treats Loona like a pet dog. They only talk to Blitzo as her "owner", and while they don't act deliberately mean, they could not care less about her or her fear.
Most of the community hates this episode because they "changed" striker's personality... But I see it as, he was always putting up a front during his introduction and this is simply his more real side! This community is weird as shit! There hasn't been a bad episode yet, but then again I enjoyed every Rick and Morty episode from season 1-6 so like maybe I'm just easy to please with story lol
I'm in full agreement. I love every single episode, some more than others obviously but I don't dislike any of them. And perhaps you and I are the same in thatregard, just easy to please when it comes the story telling. I mean hell, I've been a fan of RWBY since the very beginning and I still love the show. Something to keep in mind with Andrealphus is that he and Stolas have the same occupation among the Ars Goetia to study the stars. But Stolas is a Prince, while Andrealphus is a Marquis, one rank below him. Andrealphus wants Stolas's possessions and duties because he's jealous of his authority.

The reason Luna reacted so aggressively to the shots, is that she grew up in the hellhound version of a pound, and probably had to see a ton of other hounds "just getting a shot" when being put down. And it has become her own personal PTSD.

One thing that is subtly shown, is that Blitz behaves this way because he hates himself. At the end of the Ozzie's episode and the one with Bee, you can see a bunch of photos on the wall. Blitz has scratched himself out of all the photos. So he has pictures of Moxie, Millie, Loona, and Stolas, but he can't even look at a picture of himself. Because of this, he believes that Stolas could never actually love him. So he tries to keep himself distant, to avoid getting close and risk getting hurt.
Don't misread into the texts between Stolas and Blitz. Remember that Stolas is royalty, and educated, and has a library. And Blitz is lower class, uneducated imp... the fact that he is able to reply AT ALL and makes sure to do so most of the time is absolutely a testament to Blitz trying, even if it is not a lot, it is probably about as much as he can.
Awww man....I always felt so bad for Stolas and how he feels for Blizø; and wish I could just let him know to steady on, let him know that Blitzø cares too in his own way. But after hearing you read his texts I feel soooo much worse 😢

Man you gotta love chat sometimes. Someone their pointed out a big speculation with Loona being afraid of needles and the doctors office that I didn't think about until now. Yeah it's a funny trope of the "kids" not liking shots, but from what we saw in previous episodes, Blitz adopted her at a hellhound pound and the proprieter said that when she reaches age, she would be "dealt with" and out of their hair. Given the context of a pound, that could be in reference to getting euthanized, and since Loona is self aware, that realization after being there so long, might be why she doesn't like needles.
If you want more pain, intentionally or not the petals could've been doing the he loves me, he loves me not. Petal 1 Blitzø's text(he loves me), petal 2 the no response(he loves me not), petal 3 puts down the phone after probably lieing to himself that Blitzø had a reason to not respond(he loves me), then we end on Stolas sad and curled up followed by petal 4(he loves me not)
Something interesting I noticed. Striker has the same keychain as Blitz, a horseshoe, just a different color. What that implies? probably nothing. Maybe it is just for people who like horses.
I might be dumb but Mabye another reason Blitz did not type about visiting is because they would not let him see Fizz when he was in the hospital and he did not want that to happen again because they said Fizz did not want to see him

It probably hurts worse to know this but if you have noticed throughout the entire show, Blitzo is like 90% illiterate. There is evidence that he uses talk-to-text and text-to-talk because he can't read. So in order to communicate with Stolas he has his phone read out loud what Stolas says and then tries his hardest to respond himself.

I think deep down Blitzø does care about Stolas, but he’s so emotionally scarred from his past that he’s afraid of any kind of serious connection to anyone else and built up a wall of excuses (I.e. he’s not good enough to be loved, Stolas can’t be hurt, Stolas only views him as a sexual fling, etc.). On top of that Stolas has only recently started trying to get more serious with Blitzø and has done a rather poor job at communicating that up to this point. Once they start the Season resumes though, I suspect we’ll see at least some evolution of their relationship.
It is stated in the episode they're held hostage by Dhork that Blitzø keeps everyone at arms length so if they leave it hurts less. And it is heavily implied it's exactly what he's doing with Stolas. Afraid he isn't good enough for a royal, or that there is no way a royal could actually want him
On top of that, Stolas SAYS he doesn't look down on Blitz, that he sees him as an equal partner... but we sure don't see that. He's still doing "rich people" micro-aggressions on Imps all the time, treating them as physical objects to convenience or amuse him, never saying "thank you" to any of his servants, constantly using demeaning language to and around Blitz under the guise of "it's cutesy boyfriend stuff", despite Blitz being _pretty blunt about hating it._
Unironically you're one of the few vtubers i would describe that way; lotta other people are just annoying, but you got that militant edge that keeps it all real

The tragedy of Blitzø is that he is truly a loving, compassionate, deeply caring person, but he’s self image has been beaten down and tarnished by so many awful things happening to him. The reason he pushes people away, why I doesn’t let them get close, is because he loves them, and hates himself so much he thinks that being around the real him and letting them love him would be worse for them than the pain caused by his distancing and lack of love
I can't believe people call this poorly written, like oh my god the way they go from flawless comedy to ripping your heart out with realistic struggles and relationships is amazing.

Pride *this is debated, some say the Sinners count but those are human souls *and fan theories they might have once been sent to all the rings but due to some change, maybe wanting natural demons to have a society, the sinners are now sent to sections of pride that imitate the rings*, or possibly and as of yet unrevealed demon race, which might be the cannibal colony mask like sharp tooth faced ones...its just a theory those aren't sinners but their own demons native to Pride.
there also hybrids, which does provide evidence the rings were once separated as hybrids aren't that common, and might be seen as second class as we seem to see more hybrids in Sloth *which has a medical and drug theme* than anywhere else.
I think Goeitia also all live in Pride, which could mean that they are the native Hellborn of Pride. They are of course higher than all other hellborn but well, Lucifer is the King over rest of the Sins so one could presume his demons might rank higher as well.
One of my favourite parts is when blitz asked what the cowboy kidnapping stolas looked like and when he said “sexy” Moxxie knew it was striker and when blitz asked which cowboy friend was taking stolas and Moxxie said “how many cowboys do you know” to blitz
Also gotta remember Stolas is like...1 step under the Seven Deadly Sins in the demonic hierarchy. Literally even the concept of a non sexual wound is probably completely foreign to him. I mean even Blitz couldnt even imagine Stolas getting hurt

the main thing about blitzo and stolas' relationship is because stolas is SO high up socially comapred to blitzo, blitzo taes that as an excuse to not think anything going on with him and stolas is serious. but mroe than that he sees Stolas as not being the same as him inherently because of that and so sees him as more powerful. Which is partially true yes.
but my point is this assumption is why "he can be HURT?" hits blitzo likes a truck. He thought Stolas was LITERALLY invincible. And now eh finds out that, no, somethig CAN hurt him. Enough to hospitalise him.
Now blitzo is starting to see a small hint that stolas ISN'T that different from him.
If this changes things between them, time will tell.
As goofy as the Loona-shot scenes are in comparison to the rest of the episode, on rewatch I really notice how the hospital staff treats Loona like a pet dog. They only talk to Blitzo as her "owner", and while they don't act deliberately mean, they could not care less about her or her fear.
Most of the community hates this episode because they "changed" striker's personality... But I see it as, he was always putting up a front during his introduction and this is simply his more real side! This community is weird as shit! There hasn't been a bad episode yet, but then again I enjoyed every Rick and Morty episode from season 1-6 so like maybe I'm just easy to please with story lol
I'm in full agreement. I love every single episode, some more than others obviously but I don't dislike any of them. And perhaps you and I are the same in thatregard, just easy to please when it comes the story telling. I mean hell, I've been a fan of RWBY since the very beginning and I still love the show. If you remember, way back when you reacted to Digital Circus and the first episode of Murder Drones, you reacted to a video called "N calls everyone". In that video, Striker was there with this Va. It's funny that:
1. That was technically the first exposure to Helluva Boss
2. You finally met the version of Striker you first saw
As you get to the next episodes, you will begin to see why Blitzø is the way he is, and understand why he acts in this manner, the show really went from haha murder mayhem to a really good story; after the next episode you should watch the music video “Look my way.” It will make a lot of sense after that episode

Something to keep in mind with Andrealphus is that he and Stolas have the same occupation among the Ars Goetia to study the stars. But Stolas is a Prince, while Andrealphus is a Marquis, one rank below him. Andrealphus wants Stolas's possessions and duties because he's jealous of his authority.
Blitzo probably knows a lot of cowboys. He has a bit of a "thing" for horses. Even the pictures from last episode his "research" showed that.

Striker is a sadist who likes his victims to be afraid and Stolas wouldn't give him that. It bought him some time for help to arrive.

One thing that is subtly shown, is that Blitz behaves this way because he hates himself. At the end of the Ozzie's episode and the one with Bee, you can see a bunch of photos on the wall. Blitz has scratched himself out of all the photos. So he has pictures of Moxie, Millie, Loona, and Stolas, but he can't even look at a picture of himself.
Because of this, he believes that Stolas could never actually love him. So he tries to keep himself distant, to avoid getting close and risk getting hurt.
Don't misread into the texts between Stolas and Blitz.
Remember that Stolas is royalty, and educated, and has a library. And Blitz is lower class, uneducated imp... the fact that he is able to reply AT ALL and makes sure to do so most of the time is absolutely a testament to Blitz trying, even if it is not a lot, it is probably about as much as he can.
Awww man....I always felt so bad for Stolas and how he feels for Blizø; and wish I could just let him know to steady on, let him know that Blitzø cares too in his own way. But after hearing you read his texts I feel soooo much worse 😢

Man you gotta love chat sometimes. Someone their pointed out a big speculation with Loona being afraid of needles and the doctors office that I didn't think about until now. Yeah it's a funny trope of the "kids" not liking shots, but from what we saw in previous episodes, Blitz adopted her at a hellhound pound and the proprieter said that when she reaches age, she would be "dealt with" and out of their hair. Given the context of a pound, that could be in reference to getting euthanized, and since Loona is self aware, that realization after being there so long, might be why she doesn't like needles.

I might be dumb but Mabye another reason Blitz did not type about visiting is because they would not let him see Fizz when he was in the hospital and he did not want that to happen again because they said Fizz did not want to see him
after the last two episodes of season 2, please watch the music video for "Look my way," its cannon to the story and takes place right after the last episode, before the hiatus they're taking until later this year... its an emotional rollercoaster.

It probably hurts worse to know this but if you have noticed throughout the entire show, Blitzo is like 90% illiterate. There is evidence that he uses talk-to-text and text-to-talk because he can't read. So in order to communicate with Stolas he has his phone read out loud what Stolas says and then tries his hardest to respond himself.
I find it fascinating that even though imps are at the lowest bar of the hierarchy in Hell they will still be racist towards each other. That’s wild.
