(and indeed, because I also watch your other painting videos regularly eheh :D) I was curious to ask about the rembrandt little set of 3 travel brushes at the end: I find them lovely, as you said in your video they look so classy, and plus they are red sable which is nice. But the size kept holding me back whenever I looked at the set in stores. How do you like them? Have you managed to use them since then? I would love to see a video review dedicated to it, even a shorter one to see how they perform... Hiii. Thank you for your message. Happy New Year, too. 🎉 it's a coincidence i am currently using one (the filbert) of the Rembrandt brushes now on a project. Haha. It now has chipped paint on its body because I've been using it eversince. I have done literally hundreds of paintings for books using these Rembrandt brushes. You might be thinking they're too small, and that depends on your painting size. I paint on a3, and i use the rembrandt brushes on details mainly. They've lost some strands, especially the pointed one, but for the number of paintings I've done with the brushes, im happy, and i understand. It's not the softest hair brush, but it's fine as I use it mainly for detailing. The brass-like or metal part looks old now, and that makes it look more beautiful, in my opinion. I am not sure if i would be able to make any new videos soon, because I'm still too busy with work. But i would love to in time. If you want more photos of the brush now, you may message me on my instagram. I've not seen the other 2, btw. They're probably in my storage, but I've also used them for a good long time. 😊

Reeves #2 as my detailer and works best for me; I bought it at P28 at nbs. Aah, Silver Black Velvet~one of the Best!! Lately, nag-try na rin ako ng Escoda travel brushes (1 of Perla, Reserva, Versatil).. Ang ganda rin nila! 😍 That classic look of Rembrandt wc brushes. Are you gonna do a separate review of your new set of brushes?

Basag trip ako. hahaha. pero yun tlaga eh. so if ever mag aadvice ako, get the real hair brushes nalang. if not, go for the cheaper synthetics nalang.. unless, slight curving is not an issue.. or unless di mo gagamitin sa half pans.. nakakasira kasi ng brushes ung edges ng pans pag di naingatan... anyways.. i might review the brushes.. pero gagamitin ko muna mabuti para mas makilala at ma test ang durability.
Have been looking at that Rembrandt set for ages! Please review them in use. I have a whole load of tiny Jackson’s number 8 extra short handle brushes and use a pencil holder that is very similar, it works so well and each set of paints has one of the tiny bushes so I will never go without a brush at short notice. So this set is very attractive to me and a good price too. Hehe! I loved seeing you getting enthusiastic about your collection, even the brushes you haven’t yet tried. My collection is very like that too, but ?I tend to look for the very best value I can find. Jackson’s is very cool for that as their own brushes are rather nice. I am a big fan of mops and flats, and have detail and stripper/riggers too. Also some Chinese traditional brushes which were very cheap and are surprisingly good.
HI Lindy! I have just tried the Rembrandt brushes and their fine. I find them generally to small for the project i worked on which was a 10x15 inches.. so I think, this set is god for palm sized pads or detail works. The hair feels ok too. but still ofcourse not as good as the Kolinsky, but really not bad at all. I love Jacksons.. I have bought there once with some huge discounts, but the shipping fee under DHL is really high, like 60USD, plus i paid for the customs tax here.. I wish I could visit Europe soon largely because of the Artshops there. hahaha. Hmm. I havent tried CHinese brushes yet.. I think, I can try one from the local stores here. :)
Watercolors by Allan Jay Quesada not sure what Jackson’s are doing during these Covid times but before that they were doing free shipping on brushes pretty much world wide afaik. They do very good shipping prices on smaller items too. And are still way better than any shipping from the US or some (not all) EU countries. Spain seems ok but my goodness the cost of getting smaller items from Kremer in Germany far exceeded the cost of the items!

In my experience as you've seen in this video, the nylon brushes from Deovir, Berkeley, and Sakura worked well, and Actually most of them are still usable parin even after more than a decade na. Ofcourse, you have to consider that synthetic brushes lalo Ang nylon or mixed will tend to curve sa rip overtime, and yes kahit pa ung paborito ng lahat na silver black velvet brushes. As per online source, im honestly have not tried brushes at shopee eh so cant tell. if ever you want to invest to higher quality brushes, you may checkout artwhale or artnebula websites. You don't need too many brushes, 2-4 quality brushes are good.
the best brush in this entire collction that i have is the escoda reserva. It is Kolinsky and it is tough. the edge of the escoda kolinsky over da vinci is its point. pointed talaga. can compare my reserva kolinsky with my Isabey kasi, red sable lang sila.. not as tough as kolinsky.

I have a brush named davinchi i have it from 20 years ago and still good and its my best in all my brushes, i use to have 2 brushes from davinchi but one of them is ruined because i didnt know how to take care of my brushes before surching on the internet i clean them whis soap that we use to clean our hands, do you know if there is brushes only for watercolor and brushes only for gouache? because i use gouache more then watercolor and finaly whats the meaning of senthetic brush? and thanks
Da Vinci is one of my favorites too. Their Kolinsky brushes are tough. I am a very new gouache user. I only tried it this year so i am not really sure of there's a specific brush for gouache. But i think, since Gouache and watercolor are both water based, same brushes may be used. Synthetic brushes are those which use alternative materials like nylon instead of real hair strands. ☺️🎨

Ohh. Pero snappy narin naman yung SBV ah? But im sure, mas may snap ang versatile at reserva. Malambot kasi masyado ung SBV kaya siguro Hindi ka happy sa snap Niya. If i were you, go for the reserva as it is sturdier and than versatile. If hindi ka maging happy sa reserva, may davinci kolinsky will be a good choice.. silang dalawa na ung ultimate na natry ko so far. ☺️
