YO LOGAN TURNING INTO THE ORANGE SIDE WOULD BE SUCH A COOL AND SAD TWIST
It's my favourite headcanon/theory so far!
Anna Midnight I was actually talking to my friend about this and saying that all the sides definitely have an alternate and I was thinking orange was Logan’s!Also thinking all the sides are gonna have a two part problem episode but that’s just a theory

Jamus is Yellow
Remus is Green
and logan is dark blue? it kinda makes sense and it would differ things virgil being accepted and "turned" into a "light" side and jamus being accepted but deciding to work from the "dark" side to help thomas better and logan thinking the "light" side doesn't want them(just gonna say this now cuz the light side feels way more like emotional side and the dark side seems more like the factual side to me pat roman and virgil are all very emotion based personalities and deceit and logan are litterally information based personalities remus would be like... this fact exists... even if you don't like it it doesn't make a fact go away a goldfish in a condom can exist
If you think about it, Logan has the power to erase them all... Logic can overcome and beat: Lies, Creativity, Anxiety and Emotions. Sure, maybe morality could fight back but Logan has a lot of power.
Absolutely, and we've seen how much power he holds with the "dark sides". Janus had to keep him out of the courtroom scenario, and Remus tried to kill him with no success (and we know that he CAN have an impact, he knocked Roman out for a whole episode).
Yeah but I don't think he would want to do that to poor Patton!

oh so that's why he was so cheery at the beginning, at the time everyone was fine but as things got worse Logan started having issues with the orange side,not telling anyone,trying to protect them, but ultimately failing and breaking down at the end.I think them not including him in the court room really pushed him over the line.Even if it was a small thing.

What really frustrates me is that Logan's efforts are almost completely never aknowledged. At the beginning he was a little more open I think, and the others actually listened to him for the most part, but as they stopped paying any attention to him he tried very hard not to be seen as a joke and lost his cheerfulness. They straight up didn't want him in the courtroom, he realized he was probably being too direct with his interventions so in the latest episode he made that lowdown thing in an attempt to "be less invasive" and what was the response? An irritated "you very much did not succeed".
@@midnight_art yeah, I think this animatic really shows Logans struggles and how hard he trys. In the newest episode in logans lowdown thing we wasn't even bothering them,like talking that is, but as soon as the skip button appears( Aka Janice snatching him up) Patton automatically clicks it.

I always wanted an orange side to complete the rainbow! Thought it’d be Patton though. Dark green, light blue, then dark purple doesn’t really work. (I know everyone else is being serious here but I had to say it when they pointed it out)

@@jibsjensen2587 Mostly, he was the only one who recognized and accepted the points of view of the dark sides. Like him complimenting Virgil after the debate, agreeing with Janus's points in the last video, accepting intrusive thoughts as normal. He said himself that "reality is not so black and white"... I just like this headcanon so much

AHH! LOGAN IS THE ORANGE SIDE!! I don't know about you guys but I just found my new favorite headcanon.
Edit: Looked into it, orange is blue's inverse on a color wheel and in RYB.
This also applies to red and green (Remus and Roman), and in RGB, yellow and blue are inverted (Patton and Janus). This also sometimes works for Janus and Virgil. I think this is pretty cool. Pretty obvious, but pretty cool.
Absolutely, I'm a sucker for color theory! Technically yellow is complementary to purple, not blue (and one may argue that between light blue and dark blue it's closest to being complementary to dark blue), and if we consider how Remus and Roman are actually quite similar it would make sense for Janus to be Logan's dark side, since he and Logan both provide compelling arguments that they back up with evidence and references to famous scientists and philosophers.
That being said we know that Janus and Patton are essentially the opposite of one another (selfishness and selflessness), so having the orange side being Logan's dark side is possible as well as incredibly intriguing for me!
@@midnight_art They said in RGB. the Red-Yellow-Blue colorwheel is honestly outdated, Red-Green-Blue or Cyan-Yellow-Magenta works a lot better.

My personal head cannon is that either Patton or Logan are actually orange since there both blue. But neither are orange because Thomas doesn’t like orange.

To be fair with you, I did this before the new video came out. When it came out I was already almost finished with the editing and I just thought about including the audio clip from Logan's lowdown. I did NOT expect for the new video to back this up so much!

I have a small theory,
What if Roman and Patton are the “light sides” Who show good things, like art, love, and all that good stuff
But then you have Remus and deceit/Janus who are the “dark sides” who show bad things like how you truly feel or intrusive thoughts
But then you have the two are aren’t really good or bad, I’ll call these the gray sides. Logan and Virgil, while yes Virgil did say he used to be a dark side as the other felt anxiety was something evil, but now Virgil is in a gray area. Because anxiety isn’t really good or bad. It’s good to have some but bad to have too much. Now for Logan, he’s logic and sometimes your logic can be good and well-meaning but sometimes your logic can be dark and evil. We’ve seen Logan hurt the other sides to get his point across. The only other side we haven’t seen him “hurt” is Virgil. Logan actively tries to help calm Virgil down, like when they were in Patton’s room or durning the Asides video.
[Edit] Also Virgil still has some of his “dark side” aspects because he doesn’t rise up he just pops in like how Janus and Remus just pop in unlike the “light sides.” And his voice still does that duplicate thing when his anxiety spikes.
That’s my theory, I have more for the SvS redux video but that’s not for here.
I really like this theory.
With Virgil it's a bit complicated because objectively what he does and what he encompasses is strictly related to the other dark sides. For example, Janus is self care and self preservation as well as selfishness amd deceit. It's easy to see how too much of that could be "evil" or dangerous, and the same goes for anxiety.
That being said, I can 100% see Logan as a grey side. His opinions reflect both the ones of the light and the dark sides, and he stated himself that "life isn't black and white".

While this is an amazing theory, Logan didn't hurt Virgil, although Logan did make up for it. We know this because, in the episode where Logan and Virgil have a debate, Virgil admits that he believed Logan didn't like him because Logan called Virgil a defeatist. (This implies Virgil was hurt about what Logan said, as it is clear that The opinions of the "Light sides" matter to Virgil, as seen in accepting anxiety, Virgil would only return when every side wanted him back.)

Since everyone's talking about their out of character theories about dark Logan, I'll pop mine in too. I personally think that the most logical form for the dark version of Logan to take would be the result of his seemingly being bottled up emotions imploding, amplifying the apathy or emotional desensitization that Logan already seems to have, just scaled up to 11, practically nullifying and becoming the antitheses of the other two original sides, after all, they both are overly emotional, so inconsistent and unpredictable by nature that they probably drive Logan crazy, and perhaps they will, and Thomas along with him.
That's a very nice theory. After all, being emotionless is what Logan is trying to come across as to balance out all of the other emotionally charged sides.

I love dark Logan of all the “evil” versions of the main four. This design is actually pretty close to the one me and my friend thought of, even down to the slick back hair(though we imagined he replaced his glasses with contacts).
This is amazing, great job!

I actually had another design for dark Logan, inspired by the industrial revolution (and he had a monocle instead of his glasses), but I figured it wouldn't really fit with the series, so I just put it on instagram lol. What if Orange acts like a virus? Logan is very computer/robot like. The more and more he gets pushed away, the more Orange can influence/infiltrate Logan. Maybe eventually it becomes more powerful and controlling, breaking out and revealing itself as the ANGER in Logan.
I love this idea, and it reminds me of another song in his playlist: the Breach. "The pulses of the cargo are still rising and endorphins that are often linked to violence are too critical to manage" sums this up pretty nicely!
Some might say he has officially lost his marbles.

I think this is so cool-- it reminded me of a part in Learning New Things About Ourselves where after Roman calls Logan stupid, he screams and hits Roman in the eye with one of his flashcards. It's a little subtle, but after that happens, it cuts to Logan with a surprised expression, like he didn't realize he did that. Idk how much that would tie into your theory tho

The editing is incredible. I've never seen someone splice parts of the actual episodes into the animatic, and for it to work so well! The idea of him remembering everything that's happened to him in the past. (ALSO I'm reading everything about Logan as the orange side, and WHAT?!?! Amazing.)

This actually makes a LOT of sense. The first 2-parter and room we saw was all about Virgil’s character arc. The second was Patton’s. Given how things are going right now, the next will most likely be Roman’s. If the last one is Logan’s, I can totally see something like this being at the center of it.

This is definitely my favourite headcanon. And to be honest, while having to wait this long for Logan's arc is quite the task, I really like the idea of Logan's arc being the last one, it gives him a lot more room to develop! Basically there were a bunch of crayons in the background, the blue one was broken and some people immediately took the opportunity to make some angsty theories about it 😂 Mainly about how Patton or Logan are going to "snap" in some way

I have a theory that Logan's his own dark side which would be Insanity and his name could be Manic I got from the word maniac and sounds like Mania who in th Greek mythology is the goddess of insanity and madness or (he could keep the name Logan) . I think it makes sense since insanity is to act impulsively, foolish and have trouble telling the difference between reality and fantasy and maybe that is slowly happening to Thomas believing that his sides are more and more real with each passing episode and that goes against all logic, plus Logan was the first side we were introduced to so it would be cool if his dark side was the last to show up.

Fits with the most recent episode where Thomas makes an impossible regimen/schedule at like 5am and Logan is trying to keep him motivated.
0:51-1:01 is so chilling and I can't describe why. It's like being forgotten and the certainty that things won't end well personified, maybe? I love the orange glow of his lamp slowly taking over more of his face and room as he snaps, but also how the music is still very measured. Like I expected it to have a lot of punch at that moment, but the anger that should've correlated with his actions wasn't there. It made it feel more calculated. And the music doesn't really pick up again until
it gets sporadic and loud as he becomes orange, which was really unsettling and cool. I really like the timing and detail throughout.
Thank you, SO much, for taking the time to analyze this. I'm surprised at how close your interpretation is to my original idea: the sad and bitter resignation of the frames at 1:00, the orange light becoming more intense and the calculated anger. I was struggling to figure out how to depict someone as composed as Logan slowly letting his anger out, and I tried my best to make the viewer feel like him: it seems like he's about to snap, you can feel the frustration building up, but ultimately he fixes his tie and pushes his feelings down again. That's why 2:21 feels so powerful, even if the only thing happening is Logan slicking his hair back.

That's exactly what I was trying to convey with the "gravity won" part. It's likely just an adjustment that had to be made from the "teacher character from vine" to Logan, but it still saddens me, especially if we consider the onesie thing.

I could really sense Thomas was building on something because there’s no way Thomas was missing the obvious angst. I really feel that Thomas looked to your video for inspiration. Amazing job on the animatic btw!

I headcanon that one of the creators of Sanders Sides saw this animatic and was just like, "Oh, this isn't what we were planning on, but it's rad as hell so we're doing it now."

Edit 2: WOW Okay I cannot believe I’ve never heard of this theory before but I love it? Also Roman’s timing of “what the f*** is this” I just loved for some reason. Personally I have absolutely no theories on who the orange side may be or what he may represent, but seeing everyone else’s interpretations are awesome. I also really love the Evil Logan trope, even if before now I never thought of him literally being the orange side.

Ok here’s my head cannon for this now, Logan was/is the orange side and was tasked by the other sides to infiltrate the light sides for them. However over time Logan actually started to have feelings for Roman and Patton. Slowly but surely he morphed into logic instead of the orange side. Suppressing that part of himself to become logic. However every now and then he has relapses and over time it gets harder for him to control himself. Maybe Logan stayed with the light sides for so long that Virgil was sent to do what Logan could not, but he to became a light side. Lately (especially the last video) Logan has seemed a bit off. Maybe he finally snapped because other than Virgil he is the least accepted by the group.
Edit: I was just listening to this again and the line “Turned around in two weeks time replaced me” stuck with me. Giving me a new addition to the head cannon. Before Logan was logic there was another because in all honesty we’ve seen what happens when one of the sides decides to tap out. So anyways I think that either this “old” logic either had a falling out with Roman and Patton or was taken out by the dark sides so Logan could have a spot as one of the light sides. So during the timeline of this song Logan is referencing how they just replaced the logic before him and that once he (Logan) left they’d just wait two weeks and find another side to take his spot. He most likely referenced this to guilt trip the others.
I’m probably reading to far into this but I don’t have anything better to do with my time.

Let's be fair, POF with how Logan was acting(and especially how he was _treated_ by everyone), plus with the hints at the orange side in the thumbnail and the video, I'd be very unsurprised if Logan joined the Others, regardless of if he became Orange or if he did the dual character thing or whatever other theories there are. Especially around the same time Orange came in? He'd even the scales, too, what with Janus joining the 'Lights.' Logan could easily earn their respect out of fear since being patient isn't working with all of them.
Actually, it'd be interesting if his reasoning for initially being on the 'Lights' side was because Virgil, Janus, Remus, and Orange were all the Others, and so it evened out the scales. After all.. he's morally gray. He's said it himself, yeah? He's agreed with, listened to, understood, and argued with both sides. But now, I could see his reasoning being "y'all are rude as hell, I'm going to get the respect I deserve one way or another." As well as evening the scales, of course.
See, this is why I love theories. "His reasoning for being on the light side is because it evens out the scale", now that's what I'm talking about. Logan would not believe in the whole "light and dark" sides thing, he knows that they're all equal parts of Thomas, but he also knows that the so called "dark sides" all manage to get listened to in one way or another: Virgil raises his voice, Janus shuts others up and Remus can't really be stopped from doing his thing and conjuring unpleasant imagery. Logan could easily think "I really don't want to do this, but it is imperative that you listen to me, and you give me no other choice".
Dude yes! This is exactly what I can see happening! Maybe he'll either become the Orange side, or try to split himself from his emotions and we get two, like the Creativity Twins. I definitely think the split would result in Orange being something like anger or temperment in general. Fantastic!

I’m telling you, the worst thing in this video was that he threw everything out the floor, snapped a calendar in half, and yelled yet the sides didn’t come to check on him. I for one know that causes A LOT of noise so the fact that they didn’t care made me so sad! They just stood in their group and talked until he came downstairs!

@@midnight_art well ... he did make a tweet about artists interpretations of Patton having round glasses so with that in this animatic as well as how closely Logan's eyes resemble this animatic I think he may have used it for inspiration. He said in a livestream a year or two ago he often watches and rewatches an animatic or two for whatever ss epi he is working on at said time. =)
