ALCOHOL INKS AND METAL?! no way
What is the clear liquid on coke can ?
What is the clear stuff you are putting on before the color?
Isopropyl alcohol.
Can you reuse the foam pads?
The short answer is kind of. If you are using the same colors and using the foam again relatively soon after using it the first time, then yes. But if the ink dries on the foam then it goes through this odd tacky phase and then it just gets hard. At that point, no. If you are going to reuse the foam within a week or two you should be fine - I would store them in a Ziploc bag. That will prolong their life a little. I hope that helps. :) Thanks for the question!
Does the surface need to be prepared for the inks ?
Nope - just start placing your inks. And the clear stuff I'm using before I lay down the ink is 99% alcohol.
How are you avoiding bubbles in the paint, specifically on the tea kettle. Im getting tiny bubbles.
Hi Mrs Monster - Hmmm I'm not sure why you would be getting bubbles. I didn't have that problem. Could you be holding your air mechanism too close to the alcohol ink? Did you clean the surface first with isopropyl alcohol? Those are the only things I can think of. If anyone else has any ideas I'd love to hear them! I'm sorry for not knowing the answer. I appreciate you watching and reaching out with your question. I will give this some thought and if I come up with anything, I will be back to post again.
@@SargentBubblescom I re-watched your video and realized I was using the wrong applicator. I have a foam brush and you have felt🤦♀️. I think a quick trip to micheals will solve my problem. Thank you!
@@mrsmonster6253 I hope that's the case! I didn't even think of that - you're way ahead of me. I'm glad you noticed that. Using a foam applicator could cause the look of little bubbles. Please let me know if that solves your issue so I can tuck it away in my (ever forgetful) brain. My fingers are crossed!
Do you seal the tumbler.
Hi Rachel! You don't have to but I would recommend sealing it with a couple of coats of spray acrylic sealer. The coats should be light and I would allow the sealer to dry between applications - probably about half an hour between coats. My daughter has been using the tumbler I made for this video (almost a year ago) and it still looks great. Terrific question! I hope my answer helped. Thank you for commenting.
The tea kettles look great🥰 👍.... how do you seal the kettle that gets super hot?🔥
@@SargentBubblescom What sealer do you use?
@@jennifersiegfried3517 It really depends on what I'm sealing and whether I'm using a spray sealer or a brush on sealer. My favorite spray is Krylon UV Resistant Sealer. If I can't get that, I go for Crystal Clear Sealer (also by Krylon). I think any of the Krylon sealers are fantastic - they go on clear, are easy to apply, seem to work well, and lasts forever. I'm really glad you asked - thank you for your comment. I hope this helps!
Is the teapot useable on a burner?
