- I head back to the beautiful Blue Mountains to see the devastation left over from the Australian Black Summer fires and to spend the night wild camping under a tarp on a ridge. Talk about an epic location!

What an epic overnight camp this trip was. I hope you all enjoy the video, and if you find value in my films, it would be great if you would consider supporting me. Thanks legends and I hope you're all keeping well! www.patreon.com/scottysgonewalkabouts
Hey Scotty,
Just a suggestion, maybe your Patreon supporters could get access to the videos earlier? Or maybe a watch party with yourself? Keep up the great work! 👍
You should be ashamed.
@@toomanychickens1771 Really? Why's that? As a keen supporter, patreon and wishing Scotty nothing but success, I'd say they were pretty good suggestions :)
@@bladesvlogs4965 I was very interested in scotts uploads until this one. He is in one of the worst hit spots of the fires and showed absolutely no empathy for the extreme loss of life there. In fact he proceeded to start a fire and eat a roo steak with the ashes of the dead on his hands. His lack of respect for country is
absolutely disgraceful.
TOO MANY CHICKENS Are you full quid mate?! You must be joking. I have an incredible amount of respect for the land. No empathy? Who the bloody hell are you to tell me what I’m feeling. When the fires ripped across the country, places I have personably camped at and connected to, it was absolutely devastating and it physically pained me to watch it. I’m now returning to the places I love and educating people and shedding light on how the landscape has suffered. What the hell are you doing apart from being a keyboard warrior? Bugger off mate.
Love the extra info about the trees and acknowledgment of the local indigenous people! Great video, makes me keen to get out there too :)
Oh and the music and the editing... nearly made me cry! masterpiece!
I live on Wiradjuri land & I am always mindful of that. Some of my black brothers call me "clear brother" I got no colour at all. Respect to you sister
Breathtaking place! Who else loves camping?
On ya Scotty
Beautiful acknowledgement of country at 9:26 ! Thank you!
Its incredible that we have such amazing country, yet so many of us will never see it! Thank you for showing us!
Wow Scotty, it's amazing seeing where the millennia of oceans have formed our beautiful country. Those pagodas! Thanks for another presentation, ON a sore ankle.
Toowoomba. 🐞
P.S. Gobsmacking views!!Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Thanks Trudy. Glad you enjoyed it.
Hi I greetings froma Bogota, Colombia - South America, I hope one day you come here, you will be welcome. I admire your videos.
I gotta say, cinematically speaking, this is the best video yet. Absolutely loved it, keep up the good work!
Thanks mate!
Thanks for this Scotty, Im in Melbourne, 5km limit and curfew, but your videos are keeping me sane
Unreal area . You are one damn lucky Aussie !! Color me way jealous !!
Spotted a whiptail wallaby AKA pretty faced wallaby here at Trunkey Creek. This species is unknown south of Grafton. That's how bad these fires have been
Newnes, Capertee, Wolgan valley is a beautiful area. I am blessed that I live in the area and that my girls enjoy exploring the area. The pagodas in that area of bush is absolutely amazing.
I live in up state New York along the Canada border, love your videos and the landscapes of the land down under, thank you!
🏴 🙋♂️ Hey from Scotland again! Mate, that was absolutely superb and having saw briefly on our news what the wild fires were like it was better to have heard from a local. I truly hope the area recovers and thank you for sharing it with us all. It was good to see wildlife making a move through the area too but mother nature seems to do that.
Astounding stuff and again... thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Bryan
Cool tunes.
Top job ... again. You are really filling a gap in the market.
You Ozzie guys have got so much respect for your country.. Well done
⛺️🤠👍just when we were thinking it couldn't get much better....Scotty gets the drone up 😍👏👏❗️
You cannot imagine how much I appreciate your video's. Thank you so much.
Looks amazing bro. Great watch 👍
After catching up on all of your recent videos, we are now going back through the catalogue. Oh man, what a spot! Beautiful video mate. Love it!!!
Incredible
This is about 20kms from my home... it is wonderful to see the growth,, a d heartbreaking that it's so slow...
The views are one of the major reasons I love living here
Biltong and M&M's for lunch hahaha love it
Only but the most nutritious meal for me 😉
Here I am literally on the other side of the world & im blown away by the sheer beauty & vastness of the landscape. I’ve actually had to wind a few bits back in the video just to watch it twice. Such a privilege to be able to see this & share it with you Scotty, thank you. Take great care of that place. Beautiful is an understatement. Cheers Andy
Thanks a lot Andy! Glad you enjoyed it.
Great video 👍🏼
Thank you for taking us along on your adventures. Your country is stunning.
The Blue Mountains is so magnificent. That is one mammoth forested canyon out there.
It is so refreshing to see someone so honest, and humble as you, not wanting to ask anybody for money I'm sure with that attitude many will be motivated to support you, it's also your enthusiasm and your awestruck reactions at creation, it's nice to see someone who really appreciates this beautiful home that God has given us to look after, if everyone focused more on our beautiful surroundings, and looking after it, like you do, our world would be a much pleasant place to live in
I wonder why ABC don’t pick you up Scotty. Another informative and beautifully crafted production. It’s not lost on me how difficult these are to make, yet you make it look so easy. Keep them coming. Congratulations!
Count me in mate, thanks for all of your effort
Such a beautiful part of Australia and we are blessed to have it so close to Sydney, I did a solo camp on the edge of Wolgan valley in July, they only downfall I had was the weather.
Love the videos.
Thank you Scott for another great video. Being stuck in this stoooopid isolation stage in Melbourne, I find myself searching UA-cam for bush camp vids and I have to say your my number one go to guy. I would like to tell you the things you give to others like myself is priceless. Once I land a job buddy I’ll definitely support you and I’m always shouting out for others like minded to jump on board with me sharing your channel. Stay safe champ. Cheers from Mario.
Hey Mario, thanks so much for the kind words. I'm so glad to hear that you can live vicariously through my videos while stuck in lockdown. I really feel for you. Let's hope it's over soon. All the best mate.
Jeepers Scotty, treasure those places, treasure those times.
I’m from the U.K. but seems I drove past there within 15km 2 years ago whilst working out there, little did I know
Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but photos
wow, its got a real Mordor feel about it. I had no idea that the Blue Mtns took it so hard. As you say, the Aussie Gum is pretty resiliant! Thank God. Interesting to hear about the relative strength of the new regrowth- thanks for the insights. Stay safe mate and watch out for Victorians!
Love your work
Kumvana is there a reason they should be mentioned at the beginning as apposed to at any other time?
WOW I did not know that we had the second largest canyon ..... Awesome Vid Scotty
Thanks for this video.. being based in Sydney, it is good to know more about this area. Definitely now on my places to explore list!
Cooee, a good Australian way to call for help. Great video thanks for sharing.
Great vid mate, I’m just counting the days until I can take my new Alton goods hammock camping!
Another awesome episode keep them coming hope you enjoyed your fish and chips on Thursday😁
Thanks mate and was great to meet you!
Wow, the fires really did a number on that part of the country.
Finally found the audio to your early post Dope lemon-marinade. Keep up the good work
Awesome song!
@@ScottysGoneWalkabout reminds me of my youth
Beauty mate, great spot! It's been interesting to see just how varied the impact of the fires has been, but geez some of those spots were toasted! Good to see some green in the valleys though. Cheers Erik
Thanks mate. Yeah it's very interesting see how different areas have responded to the fires. Unfortunately I think a lot of these trees are dead and won't be coming back.
@@ScottysGoneWalkabout yeah unfortunately have seen a few patches the same mate , the bush just hasn't evolved to handle such extreme fires.
Unreal video mate showcasing this ancient land.
How lucky you were to have such a great vantage point overlooking the beautiful Pantoneys Crown. Keep up the good work!
My favourite game, try and find Scotty... this one was a little easy to trek along with you, though I can never find you when you go shoal haven...
nice spot, worth the wind for that epic morning
Hard to beat the stunning Aussie bush and its capacity to regenerate after catastrophes. Thanks Scotty for highlighting our great country areas to the world. Bushyboy Oz.
Great video mate, some awesome rock pagodas through that area. It really did get cooked with the bushfire. Thanks for sharing 👍👍
Man that was my favourite one yet! Absolutely captivating! That place is other worldly and eerily beautiful in the wake of such devastion. You shot it wonderfully. Beautiful cinematography and editing. Well done. This place is on my list for sure!
Thanks mate! Glad you enjoyed it. When the landscape looks like that, it's hard to make it look bad.
Silky saw 👍🏼 great video.
Those rocks do look very special. That land welcomes you. Funny how new vistas open up we've never noticed before. 😉🇨🇦
What a stunningly grim and beautiful landscape. Good to see that there's life coming back after those devastating fires!
If you want a different type of backdrop for a video, you should take a side trip to Evans Crown next time you pass through Lithgow. Large granite slabs, used to see climbers there. Some good camping caves. Worth a visit just for the rock change.
Bugger about the roo steak! Can't win them all I guess 🤭. Your sunrise sequences are so beautiful, you clearly love the land you're walking on! Thanks for another great adventure Scotty.
Hey, he found a way to freeze dry meat! 😁
On one side of the Great devide we have Sydney Harbour, on the otherside we have this epic scenory. How good is that. True Aussie spirit with your ankle getting back into it the next weekend. "She'll be right mate"
Just poured a Two Figs Shiraz! Great drop!
This my backyard head up Capertee is pronounced Kay-per-tee!! You will love it when you go down into Capertee valley it just stunning.. there is so many places like this in the Lithgow Area..
Your Voice is so soothing❤️
Thanks for another entertaining video in such a beautiful area.
Keep up the great work Scotty
Great stuff - sad to see the burnt countryside - same here around Canberra
Yeww keen as, currently sitting at the beach drinking a Newtowner plenty time to unfold.
Incredible shots from the drone!
Joined your Patreon sad to see so few like minded EVERYBODY support this young bloke great aussie content
Hi Scotty, I enjoy your videos. It's nice to see what the surrounding area in another country looks like. I was going to suggest that you include drone coverage but it looks like you already have. I am from Mass in the US. and while I have traveled a few states away but there is a lot more of this country that I'd like to see but at my age I know that I'm not going to be able to. I am 70 years old and I have some physical disabilities that prevent me from going to some of the places that I would like to visit. The only way that I can do this is through the eyes of another traveler. Thank you for giving me the chance to travel with you.
Spec-tac-u-par
Thank you!
Very nice man! Cheers from Texas🍻
ripper video scotty, your videos have been inspiring me to get out in the bush and make my own. keep it up mate
Awesome vid Scotty. That part of the valley is almost unrecognisable to us since the fires! She'll bounce back. Love the mix of b-roll with the drone 🤙
Enjoy ur lap around Oz!
Yeah she sure took a beating. The drive along Bells Line Of Rd is crazy. Barely a leaf left on a tree.
Great video mate.
We truely are gifted by this wonderful island that we all call home. Nowhere else do you find all of Mother Nature's bounty in one place. You have done a great job of projecting Australia's diversity and it's history in your videos Scotty.
I tip my hat to you sir.
Scotty, if you haven’t done one already, I’d love to see a video about how you make your videos. It looks like you put a huge effort in to getting them just right and it would be great to have a peak behind the scenes.
Nice work mate fantastic video as always. I’m that fella that spoke to you at gunnamatta bay a few weeks back. Keep it up you’re producing some great content.
Awesome mate., yep I remember. Thanks for watching!
Wow!what beautiful landscape Great views, If that ankle heels up and your keen I'm going to walk the Nadgee around the end of August
Lake Nadgee, great camp spot here facebook.com/735224642/videos/10155631593184643/
Gday scotty nice stuff mate. Very cool stay safe be well mate
Another quality video mate. Well done . Always waiting for the next one. 👍🇦🇺👍
Beautiful spot! Cheers.
Great songs throughout your videos, amazing 👌🏼
the fires have exposed some great rock formation
Great vid so far mate, I'm only at 6:55 now I'm not having a go or anything like that but you should explain why those weak branches are also important. They fall down and hollow out an can be used for nests, homes, and borrow entries for animals and also breeding grounds for huntsman's so it's a continuum of all life after a fire which is awesome in itself but also just a part of nature(:
Edit; and sorry, forgot to say that part of the reason they weak branches fall of so low is so when they fall it's less risk of damage to wildlife, small plants and structure below( or so I've read anyway) but I'm always stoked on your vids!
Hope this area recivers more from the wildfires, looks like a great place to explore
Your filming is stoning and the music is always on spot. Keep it up! gr Steven
This video hits a bit different. Seeing the new growth is great but the devastation is hard to fathom. Great vid as always!
Epic landscape. I wish I could be there some day
Absolutely stunning place, cracking video mate, really love your style of videos, truly breathtaking scenery, cant wait for the next one ,cheers Craig
Now this is Australia !!
Awesome views 👍
Another amazing location Mr. Scotty! Loving the drone footage as always. It's crazy to think that these amazing places are sometimes just right around the corner, and we wonder how we never noticed them before. Thanks for all your hard work on the videos. The effort is very apparent in the quality of your videos. Cheers!
Beautiful scenery and footage Scott, great watch
Thanks mate!
good viewing
Stunning colours within the landscape. Thanks for the video!
those rocks would make some epic nightscape photography, ever though about doing it when your out hiking
Man i cant wait to be able to get out after victoria stage 4 restrictions!. Your videos are a huge inspiration scotty! Keep up the awesome content!
Scotty, you're a G. Keep that ankle safe my dude.
Another epic video! Thanks for giving us a way to support you! :)
Stunner mate
The whole NW side of the Bluies is gorgeous and quite untapped for hiking.
Only recently discovered myself. What a hidden wonder
Beautiful scenery. I really like the way you matched the changing of scenes to the beat of the music. Well done. The those videos coming!
That discolouration on the roo is called freezer burn mate, you need to completely seal your meat...just a tip.
Great vid. An acoustic version of Knockin' on Heavens Door would have fit that video like a glove, but loved it anyway, beautiful sunrise.
Scotty, this was an unbelievably epic place. Those rocks and vistas, truly magical. Thanks for a great video.
Discovered your channel last night and loving it. I am a fellow Aussie youtuber however I mainly do budget grocery hauls, cooking videos etc so a bit different to your channel. Am saving up for a proper vlogging camera (was saving up for a gopro but had to use the money to have surgery to remove a skin cancer from my forehead). I live in Perth Australia and we are trying to be as self sufficient as possible. Have just subscribed to your channel and I look forward to following your adventures. Thanks for taking the time to read this comment and keep up the great videos. Kindest regards Annette Kemp (annieskitchen on youtube)
