You can get an aftermarket steering wheel and airbag cover with black sweyed and it looks way better for the same price as a new airbag that fits. You will be able to use that airbag just switch out the cover
Happened to me too with my RS5, problem is, the pictures could be from other auctions that is has passed through, that’s their excuse at least, but if that’s the case they should take new pictures before listing.
The problem is it could be pictures from before it arrived at auction or from a previous auction it ran through and that’s the excuse/loophole they have. Happened with my RS5. But if that’s the case they should update pics before listing
RS7 front ends are no joke brodie. I hit an unavoidable tire on the highway with mine. Destroyed the bumper, center grill, carbon fiber lip, carbon fiber trim, plastic trim, distance sensor, garage door opener, etc etc. Insurance paid $32k to fix it...
The way I look at this is someone needs to be accountable. If IAAI are not accepting accountability then the forklift company will hold liability insurance and should be accountable until the vehicle is on your trailer/tow truck.
people like you will help keep these ppl accountable. Shine a light on it. I feel like those stupid forklifts they use to move the cars always cause damage too. Its just careless handling and when you have expensive cars like that or even super cars its the same forklift. Such a bad idea
Yea Tim that's crazyyy! IAAI should be responsible and they don't know how much business they can miss out on because of not keeping their business ethics. You are completely right man and we def understand. You're doing a amazing job Tim! Keep up the great work.
The stiff steering could be the intermediate shaft. The u-joint on Audis can go bad over time. Might not be the issue but could be something to look at
I would be pissed too. You have every right to feel how you feel … it’s almost like buying a car “run and drive “ but when you get there the transmission is trashed … they mad weird for that tho
Check if you have ECU 1B for Dynamic Steering. If yes you will need a matching EPS (Check Part Number). Then you schuld run the Basic Setup for ECU 1B. I also had exactly Same issue after an accident. And you might Need to run the Basic Setup for the ECU 16 (some old Audis at ESC) for your clock Spring.
Purchased twice from IAA. Once purchased an RV that ended up with about $1000 in stuff missing including the keys, all of which had photos. We went and talked with the security at the gate and dude couldn’t care less. (Even though it’s his literal job to sit and watch the side lot). Another time I picked up a Q5 and the exhaust was missing. Not as expensive as a damaged rs7 bumper but when you don’t expect it, it’s not fun to have to shell out even more money on parts that were suppose to be there.
Yes Tim. Your content is better than the Kings coronation. You graft so hard. Non stop bringing us such dedicated progress. Audis looking phenomenal. U.K. supports you always. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I had an issue with IAAI years ago too, listing said the car had keys but when it was delivered I had nothing. I basically got a "damn that sucks" from them.
These Rs 7 cars are my favourite cars.. Sad to see them in a such a bad condition, but luckily we have you rebuilding them . I wish u all the best with them 💪💪💪 Can’t wait to see them on the road again !
I gotten 3 cars off of iAA from Washington, never had a problem with the forklift damages, but I did see how they load the cars up, they do not care at all, they do it so quickly too with those long forks. Not surprised they destroy some. Since I moved to Florida, I buy all my cars on copart, they are so much easier to work with.
Glad the wheels didn't come off. My biggest fear every time I change my wheels between summer and winter tires is if I torqued it. I always torque them but after, I keep thinking, what if I didn't? I am a paranoid person lol.
You should swap the rack completely, the sensors and magnets inside the rack are super sensitive as well, had same issue on a 2013 S5 rack swapped board only and didnt fix my stiff steering wheel , finally worked when swapped complete rack
It's getting bad at the salvage auctions. I rarely buy there anymore. I've got a Kia Forte I won from IAA for $2000 25 days ago, fixed it, went to sell it, and realized there's no title for it. They sent my title to someone else, and currently have no way of getting me a title. Now I'm stuck with a clean title $8000 Kia Forte that I can't sell. I've been round and round with IAA and Copart about fork damage after the sale and YES - it could be perfect in the pics and smashed when you get it with NO RECOURSE. Sorry for your trouble man. I'm about to make my own video about the title.
Rs7 Flat bottom steering wheel, you can use airbag from B8 A4/S4/RS4, A5/S5/RS5 or Audi Q5/SQ5 (this cars has also dual stage airbag system thats Audi used in 4G A6/A7). The airbag which You have now, only fit the round-steering wheel, to an 4G A6/A7 or 1st gen A1. But be careful, to order a correct Rs7 airbag-wire harness . And for colour code, you need a SOUL colourcode airbag (that means black colur, not a gray that You have now :) )
I always get skeptical about getting a car from auction online and not picking it up in person and not looking at it in person before the auction to see what all is wrong. Copar is definitely one of the better ones though.
I used to flip cars with my dad as a kid, you make me want to get back into it. Also super stoked for the giveaway rs7 been subscribed to your instagram since it was announced can’t wait for the winner to be announced
For the steering wheel, VWAG products are voltage sensitive so for power steering and in general make sure everything is getting enough power But usually there will be lights on the dash, just make sure the vehicle is earthed properly
My friend buys crash damaged or drive by damaged vw amaroks fixes them and sells them. He’s a millionaire doing this but I didn’t know how much work goes into it. Seeing the rs7 have problems you don’t know how to diagnose makes me realise how hard this is
Tim, do you still have the G80 M3? I know you mentioned it in the video and want to know if you are keeping in your old state or bringing it to Florida.
Did the same thing to me on a Mercedes-Benz. Problem is I understand there position as well. Plenty of people probably try and make false claims so they just have to have a zero tolerance on claims. Also did you go and inspect before? Pictures are one thing and $27k is another?
i had an audi a4, with a bad battery, after switchin a bad battery still had a stiff stearing, bascily we had to tell the cat via diacnostic tool that it has a neew battery and then it reseted, hope it works
Did the rs7 accept the coding for the module on the rack? Bc we went through this and had to get a module from a dynamic steering equipped car. Diff light is on bc of the alignment. We ordered a brand new rack from Audi for $2000 but never got it programmed and the car sold the next month for a facelift version .
Both times only had to perform Steering angle calibration on s5 and S7 and was good to go , Check your fuses for rack and power and ground at main power connector to rack sometimes when water gets in from driving through puddles or ripped tie rod boots will blow fuse as well
For power steering the center calibration must be done via obd, otherwise it remains safe. The exhaust with a fixed collar makes a lot of vibration noise. Inside the damaged muffler you may have sheets that vibrate. 😉 The difficulty, the noises go this modified hot or cold. 👍 Tanks you
I got „scammed“ on a car from copart as well. Lost about 10k$. Nothing i could do. Especially because i‘m not in/from the states. Usually these big companys have themselves legallyl very well protected. Still hope you convince them to do the right thing. But sadly they usually dont care one bit
They did to me too with my a6. Front bumper in pics was clearly not damaged but when it arrived (I had it shipped) it was all messed up. In another vehicle, the dummies folded the bumper and squeezed it into the trunk of the suv rather than fold down the rear seats and put it in there (where it was would have been a little more straight and intact. 😡 I think it’s time for signing a petition or some sort of boycott until they start hiring competent characters
This build might be the most problematic one out of the other 2, But you sure will get it done in no time❗❗🔥 Keep up the amazing work bro Can't wait to see all 3 of these beasts finished on a thumnail🔥
Copart also created a problem for me i bought a clean title vehicle from Copart which was a slight scratches, ended up being a nonstart and had a lock system from a bank. After Copart ruined my title by having 4 names on the title and refuse to help me so i can register my car. So now my first car that i wasted 6k is now worthless without the title cant even drive it or anything plus i already paid insurance on it.
Iaai is so wrong for that, they should be compensating you for sure. I'm wondering if the forklift driver buggered something up with the steering rack when the bumper was broken. Hope it's just another Audi quirk where you need to fix something else!
they should be liable for their fork lift drivers. This wasnt apart of the auction/car wreck damage. This was them damaging it AFTER you purchased the car.
BE CAREFUL OF THE SCAMMERS IN THE COMMENT SECTION!
Subscribe to my Instagram for a cookie 😎 and maybe you’ll get a rs7 😮
yeah someone with your pfp just said i won the rs7 lol
I just reported as SPAM
You can get an aftermarket steering wheel and airbag cover with black sweyed and it looks way better for the same price as a new airbag that fits. You will be able to use that airbag just switch out the cover
Reported same account, immediately noticed the lower case letter in their name.
Did u check the steering shaft?
IAA really should pay for the damages instead of washing their hands 🙌
Keep up the epic content man!
Most definitely. Teach em a lesson. It’s time for these auctions to be more accountable
Your absolutely right they should be accountable
You're = you are
Happened to me too with my RS5, problem is, the pictures could be from other auctions that is has passed through, that’s their excuse at least, but if that’s the case they should take new pictures before listing.
The IAAI should pay for the damages 😡
Keep up the epic content man ❤

I would've been pissed. They should held accountable for their workers.
IAAI should be more responsible and reimburse you for that damage
I feel your correct Tim. Just do right by people that support your business or you'll find your buisness will start to suffer!!!
The stiff steering could be the intermediate shaft. The u-joint on Audis can go bad over time. Might not be the issue but could be something to look at
Can’t wait to see this build finished🔥🔥 But IAAI wildin definitely should pay for damages since it happened in there possession still
There are times I think about going down this route to get a car but then I see videos like this and makes me rethink it
Absolutely should be held accountable.
Showing love and support from South Africa 🇿🇦

Tim, wow, you’re so lucky none of the wheels came off while driving. That could have ended in an accident and more damage. Wow, God loves you .
Fitment for the wheels is crazy good! 💪🏼
Not only should they pay for damage. They should check their cars before they send it off. But in the world now nobody wants to take accountability
Again had a lot of fun watching your video! ✌️
IAAI need to be held accountable. Love the content bro!
Buck shot approach man. Keeping firing away !
Can’t wait for the all the final results!
Loved your content! I am always impresses how pro you are fixing things
Holy shit, that's a freaking hell of a hole on the quarter panel.. Jesus 😮😮😮😮
Your videos are very informative, keep it up man!
These Rs 7 cars are my favourite cars.. Sad to see them in a such a bad condition, but luckily we have you rebuilding them . I wish u all the best with them 💪💪💪 Can’t wait to see them on the road again !
Going through the same with this Grand Cherokee I purchased. It’s a pain! Also here for 100 bean 💰
I can’t wait to see this build complete finished💥
I gotten 3 cars off of iAA from Washington, never had a problem with the forklift damages, but I did see how they load the cars up, they do not care at all, they do it so quickly too with those long forks. REALLY CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THE FINAL PRODUCT 🤲🏼🔥
Glad the wheels didn't come off. My biggest fear every time I change my wheels between summer and winter tires is if I torqued it. I always torque them but after, I keep thinking, what if I didn't? I am a paranoid person lol.
That color is insane dude! Love it!
I expect them IAAI to do some refunds to kinda say we're sorry but it is what it is.. But i love you and the great work
You should swap the rack completely, the sensors and magnets inside the rack are super sensitive as well, had same issue on a 2013 S5 rack swapped board only and didnt fix my stiff steering wheel , finally worked when swapped complete rack
I absolutely love your consent mate i am enjoying this rs7 build 🤙🤙🤙
@Backyardboyz2-... Scammers get a life !!!
That’s such a shame ! Can understand the frustration
wow 6k for a front rs7 bumper in america? thats wild. Because in the uk they are max £1000 or even less
these content is fire, copart and iaai fork lifters should be careful so not to cause more demage to the car. love you Tim😊

Absolutely ridiculous! I’m going to get them to be accountable 👀
I would be PISS as well! IAAI has a lawsuit pending with me, they need to have better outcome from delivering their vehicles out the yards.
I wish you had your shop where you live!, used to love the content of you sanding a d prepping the damaged areas before paint🙏🏼🐐
A 4K bumper, they would of had to see my lawyer 😂
Hello from Kazakhstan
We watch your builds from all around the world✌🏻
4:27 definitely I agree they should have paid for the damages I would of been furious

That's what sucks about auctions... once you drive it off the lot then its very difficult to get anything done
Amazing job man, excited to see the results!
I honestly love these vids, love watching you fix the cars
I always get skeptical about getting a car from auction online and not picking it up in person and not looking at it in person before the auction to see what all is wrong. Copar is definitely one of the better ones though.
That suck that IAA won’t take responsibility for the damage.
Greetings from Bulgaria 🇧🇬❤️. Love you, Tim❤️🍀
always inspiring to see you work
can't wait to see the next proj.!
You inspired me to start buying and flipping cars from IAAI, keep up the good work!🤝
Definitely great content especially on how to remove the rear bumper I can't believe how overly complex Audi makes their vehicles.
I used to flip cars with my dad as a kid, you make me want to get back into it. Also super stoked for the giveaway rs7 been subscribed to your instagram since it was announced can’t wait for the winner to be announced
Wow that expensive bumper. 😳 They should do some discount, but probably will never happen.
Your a beast i like seeing how well you can rebuild cars 🥶
For the steering wheel, VWAG products are voltage sensitive so for power steering and in general make sure everything is getting enough power

Keep going bruh dont stop grinding
I will never stop 💯📈
Tim, do you still have the G80 M3? I know you mentioned it in the video and want to know if you are keeping in your old state or bringing it to Florida.
Those forklift drivers clearly don’t have any care or consideration for the cars people purchase. They should pay up for extra damages caused.
Did the same thing to me on a Mercedes-Benz. Problem is I understand there position as well. Plenty of people probably try and make false claims so they just have to have a zero tolerance on claims. Also did you go and inspect before?
Pictures are one thing and $27k is another?
i had an audi a4, with a bad battery, after switchin a bad battery still had a stiff stearing, bascily we had to tell the cat via diacnostic tool
that it has a neew battery and then it reseted, hope it works
They need to make it right. Keep up the good work!
Can’t wait to see the final result of the rs7 giveaway! Keep up the great work! Content is always 🔥
Maybe try replacing the EPS electronic power steering that is if it uses an electric motor to steer
I like that you care about your giveaways

Check your fuses for rack and power and ground at main power connector to rack sometimes when water gets in from driving through puddles or ripped tie rod boots will blow fuse as well
Tim keep it up,number 1 in the game!
Workers at Copart and IAAI REALLY don’t car about the cars (the sellers need to make them accountable for breaking more the cars)
The wheels look sick!🫣

Loving these Audi vids. Keep the great content coming!
I got „scammed“ on a car from copart as well. Lost about 10k$.
Nothing i could do. Especially because i‘m not in/from the states. Usually these big companys have themselves legallyl very well protected. Still hope you convince them to do the right thing. But sadly they usually dont care one bit
Keep up the great work Tim. Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
The nardo grey audi looks sick! ❤
I learn alot about cars when i watch your videos
They did to me too with my a6. Front bumper in pics was clearly not damaged but when it arrived (I had it shipped) it was all messed up. Nice work bro, Keep it up!
Another great video Tim! 😁
5:27 would be sick to do a custom steering wheel with carbon fiber 👀
This build might be the most problematic one out of the other 2, But you sure will get it done in no time❗❗🔥
Keep up the amazing work bro
Can't wait to see all 3 of these beasts finished on a thumnail🔥
@Backyardboyz2 your mission has failed brother go try scam someone else😏
Copart also created a problem for me i bought a clean title vehicle from Copart which was a slight scratches, ended up being a nonstart and had a lock system from a bank. After Copart ruined my title by having 4 names on the title and refuse to help me so i can register my car. So now my first car that i wasted 6k is now worthless without the title cant even drive it or anything plus i already paid insurance on it.
Always looking forward to your videos, all the way from Sweden! Share more tips&trix on body work.
They just need to hire forklift drivers who actually care about other people’s cars. Or hold them accountable for damages made
Iaai is so wrong for that, they should be compensating you for sure. I'm wondering if the forklift driver buggered something up with the steering rack when the bumper was broken. Hope it's just another Audi quirk where you need to fix something else!
Another 🔥 vid from Tim, cant wait to have the rs7 in my garage
More context sooner.. Love ur show. Audi are great cars!!! Looking for a A7 or A6 with sport package..
they should be liable for their fork lift drivers. This wasnt apart of the auction/car wreck damage. This was them damaging it AFTER you purchased the car.
Exactly what I’m saying!
Tim be going off building these cars 😅🥶
Glad I subscribed Man the car is looking amazing 🔥
