    Many months of planning and co-ordinating went into this trip! @My Life in Africa , @4x4ventures , @Get Out, GO! and myself travelled to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve in Botswana with one ultimate goal. To cross the Reserve from North to South in 13 Days! Not everything went to plan but it certainly was an epic adventure and one I will never forget! In episode 4 we make the long drive from Bape to Molose as we edge closer to the Khutse Game Reserve. The following two days we are finally rewarded for our efforts where we enjoy some epic sightings of lions as well as cheetah. We unfortunately leave the Khutse Game Reserve behind us as our trip comes to an end when we cross back into South Africa.

    Really enjoyed binge-watching the 4 episodes. Great content and what an adventure! I'm certainly not new to overlanding, but assuming you are likely to have a large local audience doing, or planning to do these or similar trips, may I suggest, - perhaps expand your slide on camping gear and other stats? There were 4 pax and 4 vehicles on this journey (arguably all with different sponsors of sorts), which means there's a summation of a lot of data - so why not share more technical info on the performance of some of the gear (e.g. portable solar panels), best coffee makers, best stops for provisioning, stats such as fuel consumed per vehicle. Regarding the latter, off course, there are a lot of variances that would skew (fuel) performance (such as "fat" trailers}, but it would be interesting to understand the difference in fuel consumption for this trip for the different vehicles (says he who also drives a thirsty LC200). Nobody is smart enough to know everything. Safe travels!

    Great episodes, thx for sharing. For me it’s a deja vu, as i was at Khutse myself in October, there were lions at the pan, the pan with the white round stone in it. Have a photo of a female lion balancing on that stone (see my FB scroll to bottom). I think it must be the same, female also had collar and there were little clubs, now grown. My first adventurous overland trip, got stuck few times in the loose sand, but great experience and survived it :) .Looking forward to next episodes, its really magic, cheers Arjan

    Edward, maaate!!
    Oustanding vid.
    Those sunrises, sunsets, overcast sky, doves and jackals calling, fires, braai, lions......where do I stop?
    In a word, no, in five words - I'm green with envy, mate
    What a trip, what an experience, what great company!
    Here in faraway NZ, we have just moved (about 2 hours ago) out of all lockdown, we're back to normal.
    But our borders are closed more tightly than a duck's arse, so no escape for me to Africa.
    It seems as if SA will not open its border for a long time, so your vids are what keep us sane.
    God bless,
    Dave
    PS The wild dogs did it for me!!

    What an epic adventure Ed! i absolutely loved the whole series of videos! but I have a few questions! firstly did you pay the park fees for filming the video! cause i read somewhere they said you have to pay for filming in the Botswana national parks, and how much did you pay in full for the whole trip in park fees!? cause I don't understand how the park fees for the CKGR are structured!

    6 Jerry cans?... good lord, what is the consumption on that cruiser in sand?

    • @EdwardBath
      @EdwardBath  4 роки тому

      It’s generally 25L/100kms in the thick sand but in the very thick sand it went up to 32L/100kms, not much more than the other vehicles though and I was towing as well
