I've been in the commercial/industrial/institutional hvacr service business for over 40 years and never seen a vehicle so well thought out and equipped as yours. Great job!
Just started doing industrial hvac work. Not a big fan of it. We do mostly industrial metal forging places. it's hot noisy and very dirty. Can never get my tools clean. After one service call I look like I just spent a day in a coal mine.
I had about 8 different service trucks over my career. I always liked vans vs. service body trucks. You have to be very disciplined to keep them organized when you’re busy. Always return everything, especially tools to their proper place. And try to unload all of the junk parts from jobs daily. Otherwise it turns into a mess very quickly.
Now that is how a service truck should be set up. 30 plus years and only 2 times in all these years have i had a truck that even comes close.... I am totally impressed. thank you for the perfect example. PERFECT AC&R SERVICE TRUCK....... My buddies plumbing truck is set up like this...... Great Job....

The little effort to stay organized will pay off in a big way at the end of the day. You’ve done a great job with your van! Plus, the video was great as well!
Truck looks top notch dude. Not sure if you actually run calls in this beast, or just shill out of it on UA-cam. Honestly, I wish my truck was stocked and organized like this.
I did service on manufactured homes(mobile Homes for 25 years and I always kept more than one of everything and I cannot stand a dirty or cluttered truck. I had a box van but carried drywall panels and just about anything needed to repair or replace parts that normally broke. I always knew where every tool or part was at hen I was done it went right back in its place. I always joked if I don't have it you don't need it. Great set up and clean looking truck. Another thing people pay attention to your truck and usually will want you back if your truck looks organized.
Keeping a service vehicle clean is also a way a customer can view your company. Our company emphasizes on clean vehicles so I understand where AK HVAC coming from. Very nice!!
And don't worry about the comments of you having to much time to keep the Van organized! I know from experience that this makes work faster!! I beat any on my shop per repair time! No wasting time looking for a tool or part! I know where everything is!! Congratulations!!
I had before a little ford transit and it blew the transmission. I bought me in emergency a Toyota 2003 sienna 6 cilinders , I removed the seats , made some wooden shelfs and everything so far fits inside the van. My insurance also drop and this is a great reliable service van. So far it takes me everywhere. I love my sienna now
That's a monster load of tools. I do residential AC service as a hobby, mostly for friends, family, friends of friends, etc. and aside from my torch, pump and recovery tanks, its RARE that I'll need much more than a tool bag and a set of gauges to repair over 90% of every job I've done.
Steve Roginski yes, but it’s my livelihood, not a hobby so I need to be able to repair 100% of my jobs, not 90%. That pesky 10% is where you get outside of just the tool pouch and torches. Thanks for watching!

The only way to keep your van organized is to put everything back where it belongs once u finish each job but since most tech just want to rush to the next job and don’t want to waste a few minurtes

Didn’t like Johnson but i loved working for YORK. Still working with HVAC in Sweden. Nice truck you have. I have a Ford 350 mid roof from 2016. Really nice to drive
I've driven both a 2011 Chevy Express van and a 2015 Ford Transit 250. Both were great for different reasons. The Chevy was like a smooth floaty Caddilac and with a big smooth V8, and the Ford Transit was more like a sports car with its loud (ish) temperamental V6 and sharp handling. Both were a joy to drive. The biggest advantage the Ford has over the Chevy, was much more space (I could actually walk inside without ducking) due to the more modern unibody design.
Great organization. Just a friendly FYI, the Transit 250 had a massive recall campaign to replace the flexible driveshaft coupling. I know you will no longer see this comment, but I had to make it. You are an inspiration to me on how a van should be set up. I am just starting out in the industry and I have not seen anyone's van look so neat so far. Great job and it looks very READY-TO-GO!
Sweet set up! No matter how hard I try to keep mine organized, at the end of the week, my floor is covered and have to empty it out and start over on the weekend. Some great ideas for organization! Thanks for the video!

In my 46 years of doing this, I've never had so much on one van or truck. I do have though, what I call my life support system- a high cfm fan that helps me through the summer heat. I enjoyed servicing commercial like hospitals, college/Universities, Malls, Stores and such, but I really don't miss it now that I'm older (65). I just do residential- easy stuff.
Hey man , very cool....I've been tinknocking for 20 yrs....huge investment tooling up service van....I'm running a 2015 Transit 250.....very good truck....over the road to new construction commercial job sites....
Just want younger guys to know there is a balance between tools and parts. I carry 8 motors, 30 circuit boards, 150 capacitors, 30 pressure switches, 40 limit switches and hundreds of relays, contactors, etc. I can always find a tool if i need one, but i have the part 95% of the time. Allows me to run 10 calls a day and get equipment running on nights and weekends. It is a balance!
Hello friend, I am a technician from Spain and I have been amazed with your van, you are an excellently organized technician, I congratulate you for this, and I thank you for sharing your good ideas and that tour of your work tools, thank you for this beautiful video and I wish you much success in your life. Best regards.
That is a very nice set up!! I love to see someone organized! I am automotive mechanic and keep all my tools organized, it has proved that makes me more profitable!!
Well equipped van I went to a fl80 Freightliner 18 years ago parts on the inside of the service body and tools on the outside compartments you'd have to pull teeth to take it away. I run ton trucks before that and all I did was fix trucks. The wall mount ac I used to work on about 250 comunication sites I seen everything under the sun for junk in the way for servicing them. If there's a will there's a way to get components replaced.
Very clean van, difficult to achieve. But then I realized there are no parts to make repairs on board! That's why! Lol No motors, no boiler anything really, no fuel oil components, no refrigeration controls, no furnace components, no txvs, only two refrigerants with one recovery tank I think? I've thought about putting vinyl flooring in the middle"pathway". Would clean easily and look good too
I cleared my van out the other day, everything is in shelfs, boxes, other big boxes; screwed to the floor and shelfs, it's now like Walmart where I can just walk down the aisle and help myself to materials.
Dude! I've been on my tools for 30 yrs and have worked out of some decently set up vans but I have NEVER seen a van set up as good as this. I hope that thing is making you or your company some money because that thing is a rolling supply house. Like someone else asked, I'd like to hear your response to how often you clean and reorganize. When I was on the road doing commercial stuff, I tried to clean and reorganize my van every Friday or Saturday. By the following Wed, it looked like the van had been rolled a few times. Awesome video and that is a sweet ride. Stay safe!

I worked my 1st week today thanks so much for your videos and at school I just did brazing with copper pipe love your videos it has helped me a lot thank you so much
Vans are the only way to go, seems most of the HVAC guys are all driving canopied utes in Australia. So impractical and frustrating to work out of. Nice work truck mate.
Beautiful setup man! I myself just converted from my Milwaukee M12 fuel to the M18 fuel as i'm an install guy now where as before i did everything so i ended up opting for the M18 stuff as it's much better for new construction cut ins and heavier duty stuff. Really love them so far! Love the setup though! I always love to see techs who take great pride in their vans and keeping things neat. That goes a long way. I see too many guys just throwing stuff on shelves randomly. I give ya huge props! Love the creativity too! Utilizing PVC fittings and custom making your own floor boards. Very well done! Be safe out there!
I wish we as technicians could chose what shelves and layout we have in our vans. They give you a van already laid out from day one and never give you time to lay it out. Mine is really not laid out well. I saw a few guys reorganize their vans and just when they got them laid out, they were pulled from that van because it was sold and then put into a totally different van with out even an hours notice. So I am hesitant to spend much time laying out a van .
Definitely prepared in the tool department and well organized. I’ll bet you spend a lot of time back and forth to get parts for repairs tho. Didn’t see many common parts.
You didn’t see the parts side? I keep caps, relays, stats, pressure switches, xfrmers, pumps, contractors, fan cycle switches etc. more than enough. I don’t keep many motors, that would be the exception.
I drive a transit as well but i dont have nowhere near as much shelving. I keep it open as possible because believe ir or not i can always fit a condenser n sometimes the air handler as well. Usually cant fit condenser furnace n coil tho
I don't know if I missed it or not, but if you don't already, I'd highly recommend carrying 1 or 2 CAT tourniquets. They're relatively inexpensive for as effective they can be at saving a life. Great video!
I'm an EMT, I've responded to quite a few collisions involving work trucks and one where an Airgas delivery truck was rear-ended by a semi. In every case I have never seen the tanks rupture. The weak point on the tank is the regulator. As long as you follow proper procedures, you have nothing to worry about with those tanks. Hell, we've had several of our ambulances involved in crashes, including a few roll overs, and nothing has ever happened to our O2 tanks. Most of what you hear regarding pressurized tanks exploding, or shooting off like a missile is nothing more that myths.
A very wise trainer used to tell me all the time. "Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it" I bet there's a lot of envy looking a this setup. No need to be a hater. 😎
Pipe King, I take it you don't work a service job. When your livlihood depends on you getting the job done you carry everything you need to get the job done, including spare tools. What do you think is going to happen if your halfway through a job and your drill motor breaks? You think you will have time to run back to the shop and get a new one? Likewise, what do you think will happen if you don't have the parts you need - especially on a "routine" job? Redundancy is key and only a fool would share your attitude.
Preparedness. The goal here is to have everything he needs to visit any given job site once per dispatch. One and DONE is the ideal here. In order to achieve this, redundancy is key. Sure, one could ideally get the job completed with one of everything required. But everything has a failure rate, and redundancy prevents such inevitable failures and defects of tools and new parts from biting you in the arse.
Very neat clean and squared away van. You did an awesome job, you did it right and you keep it extremely neat and organized. Van will definitely pass a Marine Corps inspection. Well done.
Nice setup, looks sweet, Lotta money in there, just wondering how often the parts are cycled out or are they just sitting there collecting dust and wasting cash reserves. Seeing how you've gone for the gusto on that thing I'd make one suggestion,, to save some money,, I doubt you go through all those sealants and glues before they go bad,, I'm in Florida and glues and sealant go bad and evap quickly here, so personally if I was gonna carry that much, I'd mount a small refrigerator on-board with a shore power setup for the end of the day and dump all my glues in the fridge, they'll never go bad and you'll always have place for a cold drink..
That’s a great point and a great idea. I love having everything in the name of preparedness...but yes, I absolutely had to throw sealants and glue out every season because of that.
@@AKHVAC Not just glues either,, most evaporative compounds won't dry out or set below I think it's 50° or 60° , even paint brushes and rollers full of paint, I'll just wrap them in a wallmart plastic bag still full of paint and toss them in the bottom of the fridge then come back a few weeks later, pour some paint in a Pan and keep on going. All my glues, solvents etc are refrigerated. If it can't evaporate it can't dry out!

Vans are the only way to go, seems most of the HVAC guys are all driving canopied utes in Australia. So impractical and frustrating to work out of. Nice work truck mate.
Good idea with the unistut and the pipe wrenches. Those gloves and glass aren't on the ppe liat!
Very nice. And the beard is the cherry on top. Good video
So I am hesitant to spend much time laying out a van .
impressive truck layout and tool collection. this field you need lots of different tools which are expensive. I still need more tools myself
Badass I wish my transit was half this way
Your son loves you, he came buy and didnt care about anything but you. His eyes focused on dad😁
Your truck is so sick! Love it.
Hope you have a good security system
I drive a transit as well but i dont have nowhere near as much shelving. I keep it open as possible because believe ir or not i can always fit a condenser n sometimes the air handler as well. Usually cant fit condenser furnace n coil tho
It is an excellent workshop
Dude are you preparing for an hvac apocalypse?
Redundancy tools on the truck drive me nutz
A very wise trainer used to tell me all the time. "Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it" I bet there's a lot of envy looking a this setup. No need to be a hater. 😎
@@pipeking23 two is one, one is none. The way I always look at life at least. To each their own though, thanks for watching!
You got it going on great job I was a hvac man for 20 years I always keep a well stocked van
So well thought of makes my OCD levels sky rocket
Bro so inspirational to be the best techs we can be. Awesome man
Definitely prepared, GOOD stuff!
Love the setup! One of the best I have ever seen
Very neat clean and squared away van. You did an awesome job, you did it right and you keep it extremely neat and organized. Van will definitely pass a Marine Corps inspection. Well done.
That’s a rad setup brother. No call you couldn’t tackle 💰
Anytime I get my truck clean like that, 2 days later it's back to shit everywhere
That just means your working
Word,
that truck better be making money
Excellent set up. Brilliant. Like first aid kit being handy thats good
Nice setup, looks sweet, Lotta money in there, just wondering how often the parts are cycled out or are they just sitting there collecting dust and wasting cash reserves.

Not just glues either,, most evaporative compounds won't dry out or set below I think it's 50° or 60° , even paint brushes and rollers full of paint, I'll just wrap them in a wallmart plastic bag still full of paint and toss them in the bottom of the fridge then come back a few weeks later, pour some paint in a Pan and keep on going. All my glues, solvents etc are refrigerated.
If it can't evaporate it can't dry out!
Ur service van is really good. I too am thinking too
Hope you get a lot of calls at one place, more convenient if the ford is already broken down in the spot
Very Awesome set up! Pride is noticed!
