The FJ-4B VMF-232 Fury is a US Ground Strike Aircraft that was added in SUMMER 2018 that was the first Aircraft to get access to Mouse Guided ATGM. The Bullpup Missiles were infamous for wiping out entire teams because it kept you at range from enemy SPAA and you had access to 5 at a time.
The FJ-4B isn't a terrible aircraft by any means but in Ground Realistic there were many predators that could reliably tangle with it and then be as effective in a ground strike roll.
The thing is... there aren't many SPAA's at 8.7 that can effectively engage this plane and since a lot of the scarier Aircraft have been moved up in battle rating... the FJ-4B Fury is effectively unchecked right now in a full downtier.

this plane made me have so much fun with the gepard when it came out. always took it out as first spawn, there was always a M18 or M22 that would rush a cap then J out and spawn one of these. Was so satisfying to immediately shoot them out of the sky as they entered the battlefield. and I could be wrong, but I think the 'radar' spaa at the time had that early version where it was just giving the player a lead indicator like in arcade. but maybe that was long after the FJ came out, been too long.
Agreed! I never had so much fun weaving around at range while guiding a bullpup onto AA foreheads. Good fun on both sides to be had.
That was after the VMF was out for half a year. Radar SPAA followed after supersonic jets in late 2018
You could fire these missiles as TV guided munitions from the airfield on some maps when it got released. Those where hard times for tankers

You forgot you could fire the bullpups on the airfield and follow it in with the tracking camera

Remember when you could use the tracking camera with bullpups like you can currently do with bombs and rockets, so you could simply fire them from the runway and use the tracking camera to find and hit people. Especially on smaller maps.

Bro what I remember was being 10k out from the battlefield firing an agm12 and switching to weapon follow camera and using it like it was tv guided, heck even did this in air RB to snipe players landing on their airfield 😅
The first ever game where I met that thing was actually a few months ago, and it was rightfully upsetting...
7.7 game as germany, playing with friends, having a good time, match was bad but we didn't cared the slightest, until THIS THING... arrived...
A guy just went to capture 2 points, killed one with his lighttank and then spawned that thing... Uhm... 14 kills and he got a nuke with it... I was disgusted beyond belief, there was nothing we could do at all and it really felt unfair.
The feels when it happens is amazing
I never liked the addition of nukes I'd rather just spawn trap and ticket bleed via objectives it just feels right.
And he did that with the severely less dangerous version. Airfield launches were something else.
Well; Germany had the G.91 R/4 with 4 nords; before the AGM got nerfed and needed a direct hit. Today the A-4s (8.7-9.3) can carry a decent amount of early Bullpups the SeaVixen, Buccaneer and the Scimitar too (also 8.7).
You used to be able to nuke enemies with the nords just by splashing besides any tank until gayjin nerfed it
27:15 Speaking of, a few days ago I was flying in with my Seafire and got smacked by an enemies artillery marking shell. I was about 1,000m up as well. I was shocked. 😂

This only thing about this aircraft that always annoyed me in particular was how the guidance of the missiles was so accurate. They were imprecise realistically. On average it was good to hit within 10m of the aimed at target, and you couldnt maneuver the aircraft much after firing or youd lose line of sight. But there isnt a good way to implement the poor performance and constraints of these missiles without completly making them pointless.
These constraints more or less exist in sim where it's a lot harder to do everything! *RB is really the arcade mode, and arcade is the party mode (complete with party game rewards...)
I remember when it came out people would sit on the airfield and fire the AGM and it had a camera so you could sit on the runway and guide it to the battle and nail someone with it

Odd is just lethal when it comes to keyboard guided AGM's, landing them straight onto his target with pinpoint accuracy. I must say I have never heard anyone refer to a 262 as a "two sixty-two," even as an American, I've always referred to it as a "two-six-two"
You forgot to mention that the bullpups are like predator missiles back then. You can control them while using the tracking camera for missiles making this, essentially, the first camera guided missile in the game lol you can accurately hit any target from 10km away. This shit was crazy broken back then.

M60a1 rise is one of my favorite tanks. I don't have the event vehicle but the teck tree one does get some ok bombs too. A-4e with its guided bombs and countermesaures was king at that BR before it was moved up a few months back.

I recently took this into air battles & it preformed quite well but its place was always in GF.
While I'm not overly fond of playing GF as much as NF or AF, There imo two vehicles that at 8.7 do pose a threat to CAS/CAP aircraft.
1, PGZ07 iirc it has the AHEAD ammunition & is still at 8.7 BR.
2, Shturm-S, the bootleg SAM armed with a proxi fuze missile.
Anywho, while it might not be an AGM, the English Electric Canberra B Mk.2 is getting a slight buff next update with the ability to carry two Blockbuster bombs, This might become a bit of fearsome bomber next update as those cookies on a fast platform was always imo scary but it having two now, just sounds epicly evil. (not a suggestion but just a thought on a future video type many cas CC's might try out).
Back in the days, we played squadron battle with one of those, when the sky was clear, 5 agm was egnoth to clear the ground, it was insanely good

The event Skyhawk is about the same (But was added later), and just as efficient if not better. The Nords on the G91 were very comparable back then too...
i remember watching someone in this thing get a kill from runway since then you coudve used missile view for agms so you could guide it from far away
When this aircraft came out, I started to like air! I rode it till I broke i! I was the Nightmare in GRB, max range of 5KM? I would launch at 5KM and get kills. Forever my favorite!
My personal custom load-out for this is: 2 x AIM-9Bs on the the outer pilons, 2 x 500 Ib bombs on the middle pilons, and 2 x 250 Ib bombs on the inner pilons.
Bro, just use the Bullpups. They're better in every way.

This plane is the reason my CL-13 sat at a 20+ kd before supersonics and missiles were added, so yeah, i remember it😂 It was pure target practice in the hands of most players when brought into air RB.

I'm honestly a little disappointed that they don't accurately model the SAPHE warhead on the Big Bullpup missiles. Otherwise it could be an effective bunker buster or antiship missile, but instead they give it a basic contact HE fuze.
27:15 ive never hit a plane with arty, but i accidentally killed 3 planes with self artillery (2 with RBT, and 1 teamkill with 300mm russian rocket truck)... and bared witness to a enemy being killed by artillery after i crit it, the only kill steal i will respect
also don't forget that when this got out, spawn costs were still doubled, so actually spawning an SPAA was not a default 80sp choice like it is now

Do some people really complain about labeling vehicles in 'Two-Six-Two' numeric format? That must be a miserable existence.
I still prefer the scimitar. I know it only has 4, but it's so much more powerful and it has 30mm cannons.
Scimitar is a lot better. Fastest jet at its BR as well. Can easily evade enemy jets and just focus on cas. Also takes way less time to rearm and fly back.
It's still slapps hard. whenever i need easy air to ground kills i play this plane. 5 missiles = 5 kills
@OddBawZ You are correct it is a two six two. Much like the one six three, one oh nine etc. Only two digit aircraft identifiers such as eighty seven and eighty eight. There is one exception the F one eleven.
Only good thing about the render issue is That it almost.. just almost makes cas friends bearable

People are so bad at steering bullpups they are less threatening than heavy bombs
Yea, I've seen so many that are bad at it. A real pro can dodge SPAA tracers while stilling guiding the missile at the same time 😂
I have only seen a plane die to arty once. It was around the time they release tank battles.
You didn't even have to take off from the airfield for the first few days it was out.
The A61 has three 2000lb bombs at 6.3. It’s fortunately rare but it’s insane a fighter can carry 6k worth of bombs

I think in total, i killed 4 planes with arty. The last time was just a couple of months ago ( funny enough, was a 262 ), after 4 or 5 years without one!
The first time it happened, when i saw in the kill feed i had killed a plane, i was really confused...i was in a tank, didn't see any plane, had to check replay...the plane, a ki-43 if not mistaken, was high, at 1 km, when the arty hit him in the wing...good times.

Hey Odd, its been a couple years so I think you should def revisit the AUBL74! Gun handling is still not the best in the little bobble head, but its HEAT shell definitely got some improved post-pen since. I play it pretty regularly and can often go 8A/5K in it in a single life.... damn thing is a menace, especially when king tigers forget about their cranium ammo

This thing was pure terror for the first bit of its life. People were guiding the bullpups like TV guided bombs from their airfield. Thankfully Gaijin patched it fairly quickly.
