- In the "Fur Master Series" legendary Jim Shouse shows how & gives tips on how to get top returns on your pelts. Former trapper, fur farmer & current FHA agent Jim Shouse has many years of experience in fur handling. This series will focus on land fur as there are already a lot of great vids on water fur, hopefully this will help some trapper's realize a better return on some of their pelts ... This video shows proper marten (Sable) boarding techniques ..!!
You've got a good thing going here William, this man is quite obviously an expert at his craft..he works your fur, which frees up your time to do the part that you do BEST,..and i don't toss this word around loosely...i think you should buy Jim some liquor, cause he's a damn good part of your team.!!! can't wait to see the rest of the series..!!
It's really great that you are sharing this man's knowledge and expertise. A pleasure to watch and learn. Thanks!
Nice work! Tell Jim hello from Dave Sr and Dave Jr... we trapped many years up Grand Lake road around the same area that Jim once trapped! we had a cabin at 37 km, Jim camped at L6... great marten country for sure! I enjoy your vids as always!
Cool...I learned alot from this vid...I got some pictures on my trail cam of a nice marten hangen around a carcass I got hanging in a tree...Hope he there next year...I'll post a few pics when I upload a picture video...
Loved these Fur Master videos, they taught me a lot about fur handling. I've yet to catch my first marten, but I feel better prepared after watching these videos. Thanks for sharing.
Yes these vids are very educational. Jim's a pro, he knows what he's doing foresure. I'm looking foreward on doing the drumming vid, that'll be new to me, so that should be very interesting, thanks ...William
You welcome, we kinda felt there was a bit of a need for some videos like this, like Jim said in the skinning vid, If your gonna take a animals life do the best job you can. You tube is great, you learn some & share some, everyone body will be better for it, thank's again ...William
Thank's, these vid's will be great for anyone to come back to if there's something they need to know. If you start you probably wont stop, its very addictive ..!!
You should ask Jim about putting the rear legs/feet on the same side of the board as the tail. I have seen some marten done like that and they look pretty good.
Thanks man, you can learn alot from Jim when it comes to fur handling. Cool can't wait to the picts, you'll get him next year foresure, I was think about doing a slideshow of some of my hunting picts as well ..!!
